Kron looked like he was either forced into that spot light or was protected from further embarrassment. Once the novelty of bjj wore off it became no more of an advantage than any of the other grappling styles in MMA.
Brett Rogers at #1 is honestly a legendary pick. He was in EA MMA. His fight with Fedor was straight hype. I'll always be sad that Nicco Montano beat Roxy and then just stopped fighting. Few fighters have deserved the belt more than Roxy Modafferi. Montano is the most obscure UFC Champ ever and probably always will be. Roxy is a pioneer and a fringe legend.
Agree with everything you’re saying, but I’ll argue GDR as 145 pound champion is more obscure considering the fact she fought after dropping the belt willingly. Such a bizarre circumstance.
Honorable mention: Lando Vannata. Lando put on such a great performance against prime Tony Ferguson, although he lost, he went toe-to-toe with Tony, dropped him in the first round and almost finished him, which guys like Barboza, Cerrone and RDA couldn't do. After that he couldn't put a string of wins together to get himself to the top.
Funny thing with that Rogers Fedor fight, he bloodied Fedor in that first exchange because his punch was tighter and faster. Fedor clocked him at the end because Rogers' punch was wider and slower. If that last punch was as tight as the first, that match could have gone very differently.
@ dude, I can’t believe he wasn’t even mentioned. Guy came from obscurity, fought the most hyped fighter of all time, knocked him out, completely destroyed an entire promotion, and disappeared. How tf was he not even mentioned?

Kron looked like he was either forced into that spot light or was protected from further embarrassment. Once the novelty of bjj wore off it became no more of an advantage than any of the other grappling styles in MMA.
Cosmo Alexandre has an amazing sweep to knee knockout in kickboxing. It's so clean
how about a "top triangle rivalries" video 😉
Like Cro Cop, Big Nog, Fedor. That's a good one.
@@gh0rochi363man I miss peak Cro Cop, talk about edge of your seat fights, you knew there was a good chance he was gonna kick someone's ears off.
Chuck randy tito
Cody-TJ-Cruz
I was going to say isn't Cody, TJ and Dom the only on 😂
Cosmo Alexandre feels wrong. Sage is not even top 10 best guys he fought
Awesome video
Craziest opening clips possible to try and exemplify this theme
How is Sokoudjou not on this list?!?
Arlovski the funniest fighter when he gets ko'd 22:28
Old school fans will remember Goran Reljic. Had an extremely impressive UFC debut. Then he didn't fight for like 2 years and lost 3 in a row.
Never underestimate your opponent
Seth petrazelli?
That Dennis system clip was gold. 😂
It's the implication.
Keith Jardine is a two hit wonder with Chuck Liddell and Forrest Griffin 😂😂
After that he couldn't put a string of wins together to get himself to the top.
y'all need to do a follow up video on Seth Petrazelli if youre not gonna mention him here...
It was so insane to give a young sage a tough striker like Cosme
No Todd Duffy
When Sokoudjou beat Nogueira in pride was a shocking big win I can remember
I would be so proud of myself for even just 1 win in the ufc
Anyone else notice at 11:19 as the ref is stopping the fight he steps on the back of the guys head?
😂 Nice catch
David Terrell was a one hit wonder, after Evan Tanner shut him down he quickly retired but he looked like a promising prospect then.
Funny thing with that Rogers Fedor fight, he bloodied Fedor in that first exchange because his punch was tighter and faster. Fedor clocked him at the end because Rogers' punch was wider and slower. If that last punch was as tight as the first, that match could have gone very differently.
Shane carwin was super hyped up when I first started watching ufc
Sokaju must be on here
Starting this video with the expectation that Seth petrizelli is at or near the top of this list. One fight, infamous.
Damn, I almost forgot about that atrocity. Thanks for reminding me, but not really.
@ dude, I can’t believe he wasn’t even mentioned. Guy came from obscurity, fought the most hyped fighter of all time, knocked him out, completely destroyed an entire promotion, and disappeared. How tf was he not even mentioned?
@@matthewjswideryea that's pretty crazy. And I think pretty much every hardcore fan knew Kimbo was a novelty, and wasn't really going anywhere...... But we didn't think he would lose like THAT, to a relative nobody who took the fight on short notice, and didn't even land a hard punch🤣 what a joke.
He should be on this list.
What about top 10 biggest “What IFS” what if Ben Askren beat Jorge, what if Jarzinho beat Francis, what if Dominic won the decision against Jones?
Jones would be on the same exact path. Dom would have lost to Jan, basically nothing would have changed except more crying from Dana and Jones
@casillasscorer nonsense. If reyes rightfully won that fight then the ufc couldn't promote Jones the way they do and they never would have let him fight for the hw belt.
Sokoudjou should be there (although he got 2 big wins in a row instead of 1) but I remember how everybody would bet their house that he would be champ back in the day just to realize he only got 2 flukes in a row and was nowhere near as good as people expected him to be
What's crazy is shortly after this video was posted they announced Kron Gracie vs Bryce Mitchell to add on the 310 card.
Nahhhh the streets know who Cosmo Alexander is!💪🏾
Did you guys already make one about fighters getting spectacular finishes in the opposite or foreign discipline that they train in? ie, Bobby green arm triangle on Tony
Even though Bobby is a wrestler at heart at least…
Gonzaga Cro Copping Cro Cop.

Germaine De randamie Subbing Pena
Shevchenko submitting Peña
11:18 ref hit an American History X real quick
You know you've beat someones ass when they are still tapping out after you already stood up and got off of them lol. In that first fight he was still tapping away.
4:40 convinced till this day Alex heard the last name Gracie and gave him too much respect.
Is a win over Alex Caceras considered a 'big' win?
Always wondered how good Ryan Gracie would've been. He had some good performances
Where is Cody garbrant? The stars aligned and he never beat a good guy ever again
Brian Kelleher is a good win
He was champion, thats not really a "one hit wonder"
Yeah aside from the Assuncao highlight KO, Garbrandt got destroyed in every other fight. Dude has a glass jaw and zero defensive instincts.
@@SuperPeterok who?
@shameyboismith3505 if you have to ask who that is then I assume you don't really watch mma
Elvis and Chris Haseman are the 2 Aussies pioneers, pretty sure Haseman fought Fedor
I remember hyping Saki to my friends during the walk out and then he just immediately got KO'd
I never understood the hype behind Kron, he was already 31 when making his debut and even in that fight Alex tagged him on the feet a few times.
Kron is fighting this week
Brendan Schaub KOing Cro Cop
Man, Timofey ate some bombs.
