The good old 70's ... When people still thought it was safe to hitchhike and then spend the night in a hotel room w that person!!? Wtf
Jeannie Clegg lol
Yep
Well we got Uber now so...
How could anyone have known the woman was a hitchhiker? Why would the hotel workers assume that rather than the two were a couple? Did one of the two specifically mention she was a hitchhiker, and why would they bring that up? It doesn't make sense. Perhaps the guy who told you the story was the killer himself, because only the killer could logically have known she was a hitchhiker.
+Cannot Display Username well now your trying to use your mind on YT, strictly prohibited
+Cannot Display Username I wonder if Dan Bell and the "weird" storyteller properly introduced themselves to each other. Then Dan would at least have a first name, which with enough digging might show up as being a customer that fateful night.
Word has it that the killer was actually a possessed Gingerdead cookie.
the guy he spoke to was the truck driver
yeah and exact room to
The guy that told you the story was the truck driver, the hotel staff wouldn't have known she was a hitchhiker, and to support my fact, thats the reason he didn't want to be seen on camera.
+deluxe69able I thought the same thing
The Almighty pizza pug My thoughts exactly
The Almighty pizza pug my exact thoughts. Guy was probably there taking a trip down memory lane
Seems unlikely, I don't know why, it just does.
That's what I was about to say.
I like that Dan is quiet and not like the other youtubers who constantly have to make weird mouth noises with everything they do.
guzman418 also Dan tries to make the least amount of noise as possible when he moves through these abandoned places. I’ve seen other urbex people who make an unbelievable amount of noise while they are exploring and it gets to me every time. It’s so important to try and remain as stealthy as possible when entering places like this. You never know who’s in the building with you.
I like when he talks or does voice over .. I’m not engaged with this lol I’m paying more attention to the comments than the actual video
Why is there ALWAYS a random ass jar of pickles?? Never fuckin fails.
+P2000Camaro lol
Jarred pickles will probably last through an atomic explosion
+Angela Wilkerson LMFAO
poor pickles...nobody ever wants them.
I always want pickles.
Thankfully the guy did not set you up. He could have been waiting in room 515 for you.
The close-up of the kosher dill slices at 5:07 sent a chill up my spine.
Billy Hyatt I found this comment just as I started to watch the video now all I care about is the horror pickles
@@colasupernova2196 *The Horror Pickles* 😂😂😂
This was the best part
Somehow, they looked somewhat edible
Horror pickles... 🥒
Wow...I grew up in Kane, PA and couldn’t believe an opening picture of the Kane View Motel! Brought back great memories of home!
The ceiling fans in these places crack me up, the way the blades are always warped.
I loved how pristine the jar of pickles looked, & the 600 pieces of gum on the bench.
+Marlana Angell ...and I thought that was a chandelier.
I guess it does look like a chandelier., Never thought of that!!
+Marley Angel but that was the creepiest one yet! Unless you count the Eternal Ceiling Fan from the bowling alley video.
They get all sad and droopy when they are abandoned :D
I almost cried over that ruined rink floor....that hardwood should have been reclaimed :-(
Is Sydney Crosby your brother? Ha Ha.
It always fascinates me when things like toilets and sinks are pulled off the walls and thrown over... who does that xD
Naidy Bee So people can get money off of Scarps of iron copper or brass.
The janitor just gets really pissed off
crack heads and heroin addicts.
+Naidy Bee plumbers on rebellious rampages.
+Raven Blue junkies, and crackwhores and pimps! oh my!!
The sound of dripping water and buzzing flies nearly sent me over the edge!! Creepy!!!
I guess someone at the disco panicked a little to hard...
😂
that was a good one. Jesus.
DISCO REALLY IS DEAD😝
+Lillian Jane I WAS GONNA MAKE THAT JOKE GODDAMMIT
+M&N Distribution well at least they closed the god dam door
Those pickles are still fresh to this day.
It disgusts me when I think of all the time, materials, labor and money invested in building only to be abandoned later on. There are so many in need of solid living shelters.
This is only a couple miles from my house. This is in Beaver Falls , PA. Off Route 18. Just off the Beaver Falls exist on the PA turnpike. This was a roller rink I went to back in 2001. They later in the late 2000s turned it into a flea market.
Wow I drove by this several times and didn't know it. I lived in Moon Township PA for 15 years. I lived only 18 miles from here. So this is located in Beaver County PA
I thought so.. I am from Slippery Rock and I used to visit an aunt out this way..
Is it still there. I rode on 18 going to the Beaver Valley Mall from Burgettstown and remembered some old motels, but don't recall seeing them this last trip in December 2019. I know the video is from 2015.
Anybody know the name of this rink? I'm from Pittsburgh and used to skate
Yes, it was called Blazers back in the 90-00’s.
That rollerrink was as creepy as hell. Lol that mans story gave me the creeps. My he knows more than hes letting on. Becareful my friend.
***** the plot thicknes lol
that place doesnt look big enough to have a room 515
That is so true
That doesn't necessarily mean there is 515 rooms. the first number often applies to a wing or a floor. That could just mean the 15th room of wing 5.
I know I'm getting old when looking at this Roller Rink makes me remember when I was a kid (around 12 or 13 yrs old) and used to go roller skating all the time with a bunch of my friends every Friday and Saturday nights. Those were definitely really great times that I dearly miss...Nostalgia, what can ya do? lol
The scariest part of this video was the use of comic sans at 4:21
This place was creepy. You are very brave to go in these places alone. You should really consider using the buddy system though. You just never know what's behind that next turn.
That mysterious guy most know something because how else would he know there was a room 515 there? Kinda creepy.
thr snake left her skin there, she must have decided "this nasty ol place is as good a place as any to shed". lol
tall32guy hahaha truee
Why am I watching this right before I go to sleep?.... I can't help it, Dan Bell, your videos are too good to resist.
Right tho? And he's even got me kinda weary about looking over my shoulder whilst laying in bed watching these 😆
+Wynter Schulte Same here. It is hard to sleep after these awesome videos.
+Verrückt Sternenkind I actually had a nightmare/dream about these
Unlike some of the other places you have visited, this one looks like it would have been bleak and depressing even when it was still in use.
That shot at 7:43 was awesome. Nice vid bro!
SneakerHeadInTheBay Thanks, man! Was that not crazy?! Took forever to find just the right angle to get that steam rolling off the floor.
+This is Dan Bell. What was the steam from anyway?
How would that old guy know that the murderer picked up a this girl and they agreed to stay in the room blah blah blah if it's unsolved?
Ketzia Smith Because it's probably made up. Sadly
Ketzia Smith or he confessed his own crime
The person who told you the story was probably the one who did it, seeing as 1) how would the hotel staff know she was a hitchhiker, and 2) how would they know that they agreed to stay in the same room. Also the fact that he didn't want to be shown on camera. Maybe he was telling you because he felt so much guilt that he needed to get it out, especially knowing he didn't get caught
OMG, the snake skin would have had me running, pissing my pants, and crying. You are a brave dude.
I love how you do your tours and how you film. It amazing!
Abandoned Steve Thanks, Steve!
Abandoned Steve agree
i agree This is Dan Bell is the Adventure come to life
Lmao that random knife stuck ever so menacingly in the table
Thanks for making this! I used to go skating there every Friday! It's a shame what it has become. I love the music!! Poor disco ball! 🎶😕 Great video!
Cybil Marx what year was that?
Chronas 9.9 About 1982 I believe
Cybil Marx Daaaammmnnnn
Wish I was born in that time
I find the abandoned swimming pools and toilets the most depressing. Also the stained mattresses. 😲
Was the stained mattress the one used in the alleged murder? I would love to examine that one.
Always be careful when exploring Dan. Hope you never run into bees, wasps, stray dogs, or drug addicts.
5:06 More pickles?! Didn't you find old jars of pickles at that evil house of horrors too? WTF! Seems like you find old jars of pickles anywhere a murder took place. Is this some kinda strange omen? O.O
right???
Jennifer Masterson
Right! :3
Nobody wants to lug around pickles
matthew bryant
True, but don't you find it a tad strange how he didn't find jars of pickles at any of the other places he explored? Only the places where a murder took place. It's just a strange coincidence to me, that's all.
+unnamed715 IKR? i mean, "The PICKLE murders"?!
Not sure if you'll see this message. I know you wear a mask for mold, but are you making sure that you're wearing something for asbestos? I only say this, because if that place was indeed built in the 70's or before that it has a high chance of having asbestos in the walls, tiles, and ceiling. Stay safe.
Michelle Not necessarily.
Bring back asbestos!
Gotta take the bad with the good, either way, lol, yolo
@Bill Williams exactly. We had it in our house
Story teller was probably the killer. Why else wouldn't he wanna be on camera to tell a story and who else would know she was a hitchhiker?
This was a great tour. Your anecdote from the "odd" man lent a level of anticipation with discovering Room 515. The rink was so full of water and mould it was hard to really envision it in its heyday. Great tour and perfect music!
Diehl Elkin Thank you, Diehl!
Wooden skate floor gone to waste. Wooden floors were the best to skate on.
I used to Leave 10 minutes from here, and go here on Friday nights in Middle School. Thanks for doing a video with this. I always wondered what happened on the inside when it closed down. I love this stuff!!!!!!!
Love the drips sounds when walking through the parking lot. Very cooool!
Maybe he was the murderer and that was his only way to brag about what he's done. They do like to "visit" the crime scene. And riding by there is a way of "visiting" it. Of course he wouldn't want to share his story on camera. HE'D ACTUALLY BE SHARING "HIS" STORY MAYBE "HIS" CRIME. js you never know.....
OMG!! I literally thought exactly the same thing!
Christy Dunlap Speaking as a criminal justice major, criminals do not return to the scene of their crimes by and large. Exceptions to this would be arsonists who return after planting the mechanism to start the fire to watch the fire happen. Otherwise, the concept of criminals returning to the scene of the crime is a myth.
I think Christy was commenting in a "fun" sort of mythological way; not a "forensically" accurate way. At least I was in agreeing with her. Your knowledge is appreciated, but it comes across as kind of a downer and rather condescending which may or may not have been your intention; especially when the whole "crime" described isn't even proven to have happened...it was just a story told to Dan Bell by some local guy who happened to be passing by.
Unless there's verifiable proof that a deserted place is being filmed BECAUSE an event happened there, part of the fun of seeing what Dan records is that you can "imagine" with or without the rules of "typical criminal behavior." I'm sorry if I sound critical - I just think it's a downer when the fantastic aspect of looking at a deserted place is sucked out a bit because someone wants to talk about what they learned as a criminal justice major. I was pre-law so we probably took the some similar classes, but I can still just let the fun of "wondering" about something from a creative aspect fly. I mean, Christy wasn't asking about common criminal behavior...
Blair Ribeiro exactly.. thank you. yes hes doing exactly what you say. He wants to throw around that he wants to be a criminal justice major. No one cares! Ryan Moffitt go try that shit with someone else. Now go take psychology classes Ryan
Only Dan's video doesn't give me a headache! Finally, an urbex I can watch n enjoy
Intro scared the crap out of me... Especially when my cat decided to sprint into my room for no good reason making a ton of noise. Mind you I had headphones on. Good video! That roller rink would make the PERFECT indoor airsoft arena... I comment on like every other video saying it'd be a good place to play lol
Now that you say that, it would be really cool to air soft in some of those buildings
Bryan Rodarte A few of them would never be playable because of safety stuff but it'll feel really close to a real military situation if you do manage to play in one.
Haven't seen any Dead Motel Series videos in several years. It would be great to get some new ones. My fave is the Pine Bluff, AK. motel.
I absolutely ADORE the music and old photos you use in your videos!! I have been binge watching you since last night. Your videos are addicting. ❤️
Dan, Dead Motel should be a series on the Travel
Channel! I love your videos!!
🌟💙🌟
You need to try the abandoned Air Force housing unit in SoCal it is creepy as hell looks like after WWIII and no one is left alive, all housing and streets are grown over and abandoned. Super creepy at night!
I heard South Africa might be an important belligerent in WWIII.
Another great video Dan! Very creepy. Loved it..
Florida UrbanX Thanks, man!
The guy who told you the murder story was probably the murderer!
What would be really creepy is if the man would have said "I wouldn't go into room 515 if I was you"
Awesome video Dan! One of my favourites
I like your videos, Dan. :)
Mr. Bell you're one brave man keep it up and stay safe please!!!
Just discovered your videos!! I'm sorry it took so long!! Most likely going to binge watch all night lol 👍🏻😊
Gotta love the K-Mart shopping cart.
BuccaneerBruce A weird sight for sure.
@@ThisisDanBell yall don't have kmart 😂😂😂 geez ours just closed few yrs ago lmao...i wanna know why u didn't take anything....retro stuff is cool
This is Dan bell just discovered your series great work keep it up!!
Hey, fresh jar of pickles. Still might be good.
A lot of these abandoned places, It would be cool to see what it was like when it was busy. Like in it's hay day.
I miss exploring abandoned buildings. So much adventure and intrigue with this hobby.
The guy who told you the story is obviously the killer, man.
This man is crazy good at his intros. I hadn't even seen the video yet but I watched the intro and knew shit was going down.
So amazing and fascinating
That old music itself gives me the creeps, don’t know why.
I love the sound effects, it's like watching an 80's slasher flick
Wow so cool Dan! You pick THEE perfect creepy music too...goosebumps!
how the hell did i miss this one? good work as always!
Amazing again! I love that the last room shown still was kind of set up as it had been. Thank you for sharing.
Amy Thanks, Amy!
your videos actually relax me like asmr, all the sounds and the crackles of you walking is very relaxing so thanks for helping me sleep!!☆
I watch your videos when my insomnia keeps me up late..and then I really lose all hope of sleep. At least I'm entertained while staying up all night.
Coming over from the Dead Mall series this is first Dead Motel video I am watching and right away things start off good. A murder mystery story, and a snake skin on the countertop of an abandoned roller rink. Definitely not what I was expecting. 5:09 Uhhh! Check out the expiration date on that pickle jar. 7:38 OMG! Those fan blades! 7:42 STEAMY! You needed the song at the end of The Shining to complete this :).
The rink reminds me of Atlantis skate rink in Green Acres,Florida. I used to go there as a kid in the 80's,I'm pretty sure it's still there too, good times, back when kids still played outside and experienced life.
Have you ever found people in any of the abandoned places you've explored or are they all empty?
Fraser watch his day visit to the haunted children's asylum, there r plenty creepy people in there hiding, super scary.
Tammy Mcwhirter I just watch that one couple of days ago. And yes it is indeed terrifying. Someone was totally following Dan around the entire time. Even though it was during the day it was still terrifying especially once you can see that he's being followed.
how do you walk around these places by yourself dan ?? scary and spooky as hell
A great set for The Walking Dead?
It'd be cool but there's no motel in the comics
+Cmon Cuhhh yeah but the show isn't really following the comics much anyway so it wouldn't surprise me if they did do something like that! I've always loved the idea of them going to an abandoned theme park and Carl and the other 'kids' just running around!
yasssss
The only great set for the walking dead would be no set.
That guy was definitely the killer if the story is true
Maybe it wasn't in the news paper bc he got her body out before morning. And no one ever knew about it. That's just creepy and odd someone would be hanging around that places and say something like that. Dan becare full out there people r crazy!
Or maybe it was after the place shut down who knows.
That was creepy, thanks for the explore! Great video work and editing!
this is WAYYY better than "exploring with josh"
GREAT VIDEO
10\10
Guillermo Barrera I was thinking the same thing, thank god!
Hey Danny! you should be in Hollywood Makin' horror flicks and stuff!
Your the man Danny boy!
Wait disco's dead? Well time to panic ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
at the disco
so much for stayin' alive
ha.. ha... ha... ha....
siccmann I'd rather go to the YMCA
Now this is a story all about how My life got flipped turned upside down and I like to take a minute just sit right there I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called bel air in West Philadelphia born and raised on the playground is where I spent most of my days chilling out maxin relaxing all cool and all shooting some b ball outside of the school when a couple of guys who were up to no good started making trouble in my neighborhood I got in one little fight and mom got scared and said "You're moving with your auntie and uncle in bel air” I begged and pleaded with her day after day but she packed my suitcase and sent me on my way she gave me a kiss and then she gave me my ticket I put my Walkman on and said "I might as well kick it" first class yo this is bad drinking orange juice out of a champagne glass is this what the people of Bel-Air living like?? Hmmm this might be all right but wait, I hear they're prissy, bourgeois, and all that is this the type of place that they should sent this cool cat? I don't think so, I'll see when I get there I hope they're prepared for the Prince of bel air well the plane landed and when I came out there was a dude looked like a cop standing there with my name out I ain't trying to get arrested yet I just got here I sprang with the quickness like lightning disappeared I whistled for a cab and when it came near the license plate said 'Fresh' and it had dice in the mirror if anything I could say that this cab was rare but I thought "Nah, forget it, yo holmes, to Bel-Air!" I pulled up to a house about seven or eight and I yelled to the cabbie "Yo homes, smell ya later" looked at my kingdom, I was finally there to sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel-Air!! :D
It should be The Walking Dead Motel Series. Every one of these dead motels I've explored (from my chair) has been haunted. Maybe that guy's story is true, because there's a woman in the room there with you Dan. I'm letting those who are watching the video and who are interested know that she's there. It doesn't sound like Dan cares one way or the other. The first part of what she says is easily heard using headphones with the volume up high. Headphones are always recommended when listening for EVPs. She says "I have been sleeping again!!" at 3:14. I'm not sure what she says after that, but she keeps on talking and Dan doesn't acknowledge her so he's not aware she's there. She then says "I haven't been good!!" at 3:23-3:24. A guy says "Correct them!" at 4:08. I think he says "Rick" at 4:11. Suggesting that there's at least three ghosts haunting the motel. One's named Rick. It sounds like she says "Reminding you!" at 4:12. It sounds like "Get the door, now!!" said very fast at 4:13. "I hate you!!!" at 4:35-4:36. That's so clear. You can definitely hear it more clearly using headphones. I wonder if Dan ever feels like there's a presence right near him ever? Is that "Lurking!" or "Working?!" at 5:57. She's much closer at 6:08-6:09 and I think she's saying "Lurking?!" It's creepy how these spirits move right up near Dan and he has no idea what's happening. You don't see anyone there and she sounds like she's standing right next to the couch. I'm not sure what the lady is saying at 7:18. To me it sounds like she's asking "Is Danny drunk?!" What the hell is that at 7:42. What a cool shot. That's also a cool shot at 10:38 of the 515 door number and peeling paint around it. And that concludes another entertaining Walking Dead investigation where I say once again that this motel is haunted. Thanx Dan for exploring and letting me tag along.
the weird guy in the van was the murderer!
Your material and editing is so awesome and creepy!
Love the series Thanks for sharing.....Place gave me the creeps ..
creeps ...
Dan, you put a really good feel into your videos. Glad I’ve been watching your stuff since day one. Hats off
It's one thing to vacate and abandon a property, but these "dead" motels should be condemned. A thousand years from now, I wonder what future civilizations will think of "us" when they unearth ruins such as this, and, of course, landfills.
+jolie robles i doubt abandoned buildings like this will make it "thousands of years from now" before getting demolished by the city, or collapsing and breaking down because of nature/vandalism. thousands of years is a long time for an already compromised building to supposedly stay intact enough for new civilizations to pass judgement.
I love the music you add to your videos... It also shows your knowledge of history... Your abandoned videos are touching... Its easy to see that you are truely interested in the lives of the people who spent living time in these places... When I watch your videos its like hearing whispers from the past... You are really good at what you do to invoke feelings in others through your work... I hope you keep on going with your passion... Please, though, I'd rather not see you doing these videos alone... Your alone videos terrify me.
Pretty sure you interviewed a muderer.
"Hey in the early "70's, I killed a hi... um.....someone killed a hitch hiker in room 515 ."
Your intro is positively BRILLIANT!
Love, love, love it.
So well-done!
u sir, deserve 1 million subs plus some
What I found most creepy was the indoor rain. Not raining outside, but raining inside. Strange place.
7:50 why the floor is smoking???
It's dust rising from the floor, lit up by the sunlight through some sort of hole in the roof.
What a great video Dan.... The makings of a horror film really good editing and background music good stuff man... Thank you Merry Christmas
You've done such a beautiful job on this. It feels like I was there with you.
These videos get my heart pounding and I'm always waiting for something to pop out!
omg dan get out of my house
lol
Hahaha
@CryBaby’s Universe .........your name suits you
Holy Christ, just the music you picked gave me chills.
Ok, there is A Kmart shopping cart at 4:08. Isn't that supposed to be in your dead mall series? Not the hotel series xD anyways Dan, great video! Really creepy when you see the decaying snake and the knife! :D
ViperGladiator This video was probably sponsored by kmart because kmart can't afford real tv commercials :P Anyways, great video dan!
Steven Kokko The nearest Kmart for me is in Providence RI, thats a good 100 miles away for me. Plus who would want to drive all the way to some cheap place? Not me. This is Dan Bell.
Steven Kokko Ha!
ViperGladiator It’s all about cross promotion.
Maybe Its a secret subliminal message. We all shouldn't trust Dan. The dead malls are paying him to show the messages and make the mall traffic better again..... This is Dan Bell. Agent Fungus Steven Kokko
Love your videos and Channel Dan. Your editing is awesome! I also LOVE your choice of music for all of these vids. Have a great weekend!
That intro was badass. Really great work Dan, keep it up!
Amanda Allen Thanks, Amanda!
Hi again Dan, iv now watched all of your videos and also you on periscope and heard you explain why you can not always give details of locations. I love your videos. You've left me feeling seriously inspired. Not so much to do any exploring but just the general (cough) aesthetic of your videos has inspired me a lot with my music recently. Thank you! :)
