Really enjoying this! I also didn't care too much for this show as a kid, but I always wanted to watch it in case Knuckles (my fav character) might appear. My friends swore they saw Knuckle in a couple episodes. But years later I came to learn that Knuckles does appear in Sonic Underground.
there's an unintentional sonic forces reference. there's a scene where sonic gets eaten by a snake and spat out. like in a level of sonic forces. the snowy area he goes to also resembles ice cap zone
Hm... A story about talking animals and one of them is a sloth that talks really slow - a joke which wears thin super quickly. Well luckily no piece of media every tried that one again :)
This was actually one of the first and few episodes of AoSTH that I watched most (if not all) of. I don't even remember why this one in particular. My guess is that a YTP had a clip from this episode and I wanted to see the context. Still, it was... decent, I think. I dunno, it was long ago.
Was this the first piece of animation to have a sloth character with Rocket's shtick? You know, their name implies speed, but they're actually really slow to the point that they even talk slowly? Because I seem to remember a certain Flash from Zootopia, with almost the exact same shtick.

I´ve just watched this episode again and I must say it´s more solid than I remember. I totally agree with your ranking place for this episode. The most negavie point here are the VVVEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYY SSSSLLLLOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW TTTTTAAAAAALLLLLLLKKKKIIIIINNNGGG phrases. Maybe that´s why I didn´t like this episode that much back than. Anyway. I´m looking forward, like always, for your next stuff and sorry about this little joke. I just couldn´t hold it back.
You sound like a madman/j Jokes aside, this is a pretty good review, me as myself speaking, i like the wild shinenigans that can happen through an episode, even if they are too weird, it's old cartoon fashion style overall, this episode fell just to off compared to the rest, but it is still a good one

i think it takes until after episode 10 for the show to truly go off the rails

I assume he censors it when it'll make it funnier.
