Hi there, just started following today, subbed this morning. I have built my own "reverse helix bucket trommel" i have had it in operational for 7 months. Able to use it once a month, it is of all plastic ,electric 12v windscreen wiper motor. Weight 6.5kg wirh out sluices and legs. On a really good day, I can run 30 - 60 buckets depending on how far I cart to the water source. Love a trommel, it smashes it! Clean as a whistle, the rocks. It tends to catch it all. Has 3 stages ,with 3 different catch zones each. I have won beers of people testing the tailings !😅 cheers love it!
Sounds like a fantastic little machine Andy! I'm a fan of any electric equipment. Especially now that we have nice light, lithium batteries with high storage density to use. No more lugging the big lead acid down the creek to power things 😁
Another great video. Thanks for explaining your thought process for selecting the various strata to focus on, makes for a fun and informative video. Really like your positive attitude re the hunt for the shiny. Thank you for sharing.
Earning every flake. Have you thought about adding a small conveyor(like 8 ft long) to the front end of your operation to make feeding the trommel a bit easier and expedite the process? Add it onto the motor turning the trommel with a belt or chain? Hauling something like that with the trommel or even an extra trip may save a lot of time & effort while putting more gold in your totals. Do you regularly pan the piles of fine tailings to make sure you're not losing gold?
Howdy Justin! I have considered it, yes. But after weighing up the pros and cons I dont think it would be a worthwhile venture. More just the size factor than anything else, for the conveyor to be useful to me it would have to be bigger than the trommel is. If I was to build a bigger trommel one day though, a feed conveyor would be a very handy addition! I occasionally pan the fine tailing, very rarely do I even get a spec. The oversized tailings however, do have gold in them when the materiel is clay bound and hard to break down. In that case, I put a bucket under the end and re feed the oversized a second time 😁
Boa noite, você poderia mostrar em detalhes o projeto da sua planta de lavagem? Faz um vídeo por favor, mostrando como é o funcionamento do seu trommel. Obrigado e boa sorte na caça ao ouro...
I will give a really detailed view of the trommel and how it works in the next video I do with it. I've had a few people ask for the same thing. Keep an eye out for it in the coming weeks! Thanks
Doesn't need to be in Australia to have good gold. You just need to put a lot of effort in. In reality, this deposit is low grade. It's just the shear amount of materiel put through that determines the gold recovered at the end 😁
Enjoyed watching, keep on having fun doing it... I'm starting to release content from my own gold prospecting adventures here in Virginia, United States and possibly in the future I will visit more places to prospect as my channel grows..
nice result, you make me feel older than I am watching you move all that material. Hope santa was good to you. Loved the Aussie spider element. Was it a red headed mouse spider element?
I think it must have been a female mouse spider element. The red is a feature of the males I'm pretty sure! 🤣. Thanks for your continued support Jethro!
Never work under a bank alone. Always take a wing man. Only one man under the bank at a time. If it all goes bad, someone has to attempt the rescue and call the Emergency Services. Your tromell set up is impressive, but your workings gave me the shivers.
You're absolutely correct Wendy. My channel is designed to keep people on their toes by putting my own life at risk though, makes for good entertainment 😝
The pump is a crappy chinese model. The trommel drive motor is a Honda GXH50. I use good pumps on some of my other equipment though. Can't beat a good dredge pump for pressure!
I guess it depends on what you concider great Marine guy. You saw that correctly yes. I put all of my alluvial clean ups through a small river sluice before putting them into the spiral wheel.
@@TheGoldmansChannel have you considered taking the cons home and using a recirc sluice there? More time on the creek spent digging and less chance of loss as you can rerun your tailings.
I used a 100mm v mat clean up sluice for most of my clean ups about 10 years ago, it's handy for very fine gold. But the little river sluice I use here is just too quick and easy. Then straight into the spiral wheel when I get home again. I'm not at all concerned about losing any out of it, I learnt quite a while ago that gold is pretty hard to lose. I've had that little river sluice for a long long time and it's seen well in excess of a KG in that time. It's sort of like my "old faithful" if you know what I mean 😃.
good shit mah boy

Great Video, Thank You
Thank you for watching Peter. Glad you liked it!
I wonder how hydroforce would do on that material
Would need to be 4" or larger to make it profitable. But im sure it would work well!

Dig a tunnel, lol
So you got about 0.02 OPT? That is…not great. Especially for four days of work. You used a river sluice as a clean-up, did I see that right?
