You know when I first watched invincible I assumed Eve’s father was such a dick because of the stress of his daughter having powers but from this I learned he was always a dick

I’m pretty sure there’s a saying that when someone gains power they reveal who they truly were. Which I suppose can be used here to show that understand stress, people reveal who they always were.
i think he simply resented his daughter for not being normal. Like he wanted a perfect daughter that went on to be a doctor, married a rich guy and give him grandkids. But very quickly his daughter turned out to be a weirdo and all his expectations shattered infront of him
Literally just read Eve’s prequel comic the other day - this is extremely accurate to the book, plot beat for plot beat, even some of the quotes. “No, the cape is cute. The name is awesome.” “Did you eat my cake?”
What’s so crazy is if she didn’t have the limiter she could’ve saved her brothers and sisters bc she would be able to revert they molecules and turn em normal
Was thinking the same the entire time I was seeing them crumble. The issue is how complicated a living thing is compared to inanimate objects and how intuitive can Eve really rearrange the molecules so they can be normal.
@@collecter343 Eve can turn a sandwich into a hamburger. She can easily transmute complicated things. Her limiter just prevents her from using her powers on a "living" human or animal. It's not about complexity, just if something counts as "living." She theoretically could be tricked into transmuting living matter, but seems she's able to intuitively sense that with her powers.
Given that she was fighting them before she found that out if it wasn’t for the subconscious block she would’ve killed them within 1 second into the fight
I was thinking that the mental bloke was also the reason she wasn't like them as they had to constantly focus on their form she didn't cause she was literally unable to affect it

Her control and mastery of her constructs at just 12 years old is insane. This was her first disaster and she handled it like a pro. I was so sure someone else was going to step in and help bc man did this entire fight escalate.
She almost seems to use them better in this one episode than in all of Invivible S1
@@LeBlingKingI think she holds herself back a lot intentionally. She knows the dangers of displaying the full extent of her powers in public and how going overboard can hurt people. I think it's her own kindness that stops her from just annihilating any threat.
@@Mizar007And this special showed that while she is incredibly strong, she is a glass canon and not invincible. She would have lost that fight if her siblings weren't on a timer. She can heal herself to an extend but i don't think she will ever get this angry again so her full potential will never be reached
Don’t forget she spent the first 12 years of her life staring at the atoms and molecules in everything. She knows what the thing she wants is supposed to look like, and since she manipulates subatomic particles she can get whatever she needs anywhere.

Me too 😂 I was like "Holy shit. This is why I fell in love with this show." I didn't realise how much I'd missed this show. A superhero show that's great and actually takes itself seriously.

My guess about Val is that, when she introduced herself, she introduced as "the weirdo from across". I don't think she has a lot of friends, and she saw in Eve someone like her, hence how they bonded. But suddenly, Eve isn't another "weirdo", another "misfit", someone "lame" that no one wants to be friend with. She is a superhero. She is special. She is "better"... So Val feels inferior, and it changes the power dynamic of their friendship.
She resents Eve, she probably envies her, because she has what Val dosen't. It's kinda sad.

Yup....I hate she realized she could have...but had she brought them back and not used them on that psycho....he would've still been chasing them...
It would’ve been nice to have it as a background voice over the song during that moment assuming if they can’t make room for her to say it.
We don’t need to see the characters say the line for them to actually say it.

Any viewer who has watched the first season knows exactly what conflict is going on inside Omniman. For a brief moment, the Viltrumite in him came out, but then he could control himself. I just love this scene. For me one of the best and most meaningful scene of this episode.
He damn near killed Mark. 😂🤣

Eve's dad is like a walking sack of bad dad stereotypes. like he's so over the top he's a meme. like they had a meeting brainstorming about what is a negative trait or behavior for a father toward a daughter and when they had to decide what to incorporate for the character they were just like "fuck it. everything."

Perfect comic adaptation plus some....Atom Eve is my favorite redhead comic character ever!!! A very complex character wrapped in pink.....my other fave redheads are The Pink Hammer and Marvel Girl.
She reminds me a lot of Jean Grey. That government dude gave me Sinister vibes

Also, I think the animation here in the Guardians fight and Eve's fight is better than any other fight in the show. They've definitely stepped their game up in that department.

Omni mans goal was not to destroy earth. It was to prepare Earth for the Viltrumite empires arrival so that they can easily be conqured. They would have been destroyed if they resisted but if they did not then they would have been assimilated into the empire. The humans would breed with the Viltrumites and after a few generations they would have been bred out of existence and replaced with human born Viltrumites.
I think the spell Eve said was why no one remembers who she is. Season 1, people kept forgetting Eve.
It's not a spell, her powers don't work like that. She specifically changed those two people and nobody else. People don't know who Atom Eve is because she was part of a crappy C-tier superhero team.

@@marshsundeen It's just a running gag that's not supposed to make perfect sense or be explained logically. This series takes superhero tropes and exaggerates or downplays them to poke fun at them. The fact that she doesn't wear a mask and uses her name but still isn't recognized is a slightly more ridiculous version of Super Man putting on glasses and becoming Clark Kent, for instance. Even when she directly states her superhero identity she gets confused for someone else, because Superheroes aren't even rare and she was part of a team that was essentially a discount version of a Justice League knockoff.

I guess maybe we have an entirely different concept of retro, and yours seems to be one in which you'll constantly see your relatively-near-past as being a long time ago. Which to me almost seems like doing the whole _"back in _*_my_*_ day"_ thing about shit that happened a few months ago.
As for myself, "retro" will always mean, at the absolute minimum, before _I_ was born; and even that is a pretty generous a definition.

This is awful and completely destroyed Atom Eve as a character and removed all tension from the entire show, so what if the entire Viltrum empire attacks when Atom Eve can just remove her limiters and turn them all of the into spaghettis ala Wanda from Dr Strange...
She can't remove her limiters on command though, it always happens during a life or death situation when she's about to die her full powerful form gets unlocked.
