First episode starting off with the Pirates was good. The ending part of the first episode when the ship was taking off was real cool and great special effects. Everything in between was too "kiddie" for my taste. I give the first episode a 4 out of 10. 2nd episode was more cooler with the pirates and the pirate port but still too kid-like. Too much Goonie-ish and the runtime was way too short. I give the episide a 6 out of 10. Still in the wait and see mode of how this goes. So far, not impressed. I definitely did not like the boy playing with action figures and how would they know about Jedis and Sith if at this time, then neither one were around to strive to become one. I don't care for the kid/Goonie adventure theme. I rather see a show strictly about pirates and nix the who "kids wanting to go on an adventure" storyline. Remove the reference to the Jedi, old republic, and the force and it could be any science fiction fantasy show. It doesn't have to be branded Star Wars. Combined my rating is 5 out of 10. I am still in the wait and see how this show develops moving forward mode and if it connects to the First Order, ect

MIke, After getting sidetracked with work and sleeping through the release of your video, I just woke up and watched both episodes. After avoiding all the other breakdowns, I’m now here after watching your video to share my thoughts. I agree with most of the comments made here. At-Attin is a prison for a population that, if they fail to follow the rules, is sent to the mines to search for fortunes-similar to the folklore of the Legend of the gold of El Dorado-and are never seen again. Everyone on that planet is trapped, with no free will to create their own destiny. The ruler of that planet is keeping the fortune a secret from the rest of the population. You're right; the inhabitants of that planet are essentially lost in time. They have never seen the stars and may have been under an artificial cloud cover that prevents them from dreaming about the adventures these kids are embarking on. The people who truly need rescuing are the parents of the children and the greater population of the planet. The man in the helmet is Narwood, who appears in the intro of the first episode. He failed his mission and has been imprisoned all this time by the Wolfman character, who is now in charge. If Narwood is a Jedi, why did he wait until now to break himself out with the kids? Was he waiting for their arrival to reveal himself?
In the book “the rise of the galactic empire” it mentions how the empire gradually adjusted the education curriculums of the galaxy to slowly eradicate any teachings of the republic. Can’t help wondering if this planet was set up and shielded away to preserve the republics culture for a more stable time. Is “the great work” mon mothmas personal experiment to preserve the republic? The guest in class wore a similar cloak to mon mothma, same shade of blue. Mon mothma is also the reason for the rise of the first order because of her hesitance and refusal to use military force to fight them and this planet seems like it shares ideals. Also, what they’re learning in class seems related to trading, so perhaps they need a generation of uncorrupted accountants for getting the galactic economy started again. The streets, suburbs etc show good infrastructure and serve as a good example of the kind of things people would expect from good governance, so they’d be well trained from the outset to work in government if they’re almost incorruptible and know how to do what’s right by citizens (Palpatine himself mentions on more than one occasion that the senate was corrupt, and he’d know given how often he facilitated it).
My guess is that Jude Law is the captain and that he is not a Jedi... He's like Haja from the Obi Wan Show, a deceiver and he's trying to trick the kids just to get on that ship.
Theres no way SM-33 looking like "Smee" was by accident. You couldnt pay me to believe it. I thought the 1st 2 episodes of S.C. were pretty good. But I came in with zero expectations. The 1st 2 episodes of accolyte were pretty good too, but we know how that turned out. Im hopeful this show does well. Starwars needs a win
Show is cool so far, and I think what makes the story nice is that it is easy to follow with some mystery that’s easy to solve, unlike the wAColyte. So SM-33 might’ve gotten his circuits blown during what seems to be a crash landing at At Attin, maybe they were attacked prior to hyperspace flight and ended up on the planet before those shields were put up. Masked guy in the beginning is clearly Jude Laws character, and this is why I like the writing, we obviously know it’s him but they sprinkle doubt with the mask. He may have been a padawan that never finished his training due to order 66 and ended up finding his way to a private crew. It’s not far fetched to think the crew doesn’t actually know this because many Jedis went into hiding deeply concealing their force powers. My guess is he knows the basics, pull and push abilities. I think after a botched heist with faulty intel, the crew finally had it and said the heck with this guy we’re tossing him in the brig. Kinda like what happened with Yandu in GOTG. I’m sure he tried escaping, but maybe not considering he never had a way off the spaceport and Brutus pretty much runs everything.
Best Star Wars show other than Andor for me. It’s for kids for sure but not too cutesy and unlike other shows it’s not breaking canon or people making nonsensical decisions and isn’t uneven in tone. It seems to know what it is. Not jumping back and forth in tone jarringly like the other shows
Michael freaking Giacchino did the music for this show!! He also did Rogue One, and he's been my pick for future SW movies for years. Hopefully this catapults him to that position in coming years, as it's been his dream to compose for Star Wars since he saw the OT as a kid
Small mistake. The music for this series was composed by Mick Giacchino, the son of "Rogue One" composer Michael Giacchino. But yes, Mick composed a great soundtrack for Skeleton Crew, just like his father did for RO.

Loved it, only just finished watching them but I’m craving more already. I think the opening scene in Ep1 is Jude Law under the mask, it’s his voice that’s been altered to sound more robotic. I think he’s failed his crew & there’s a mutiny where he’s thrown in the brig. That’s where he is when we see him in Ep2. As for anyone knowing he’s a force user, I don’t think they do. My theory is it’ll play out that his character is looking to only want the treasure, however I think the treasure he wants it more than gold or credits. A lost loved one perhaps? Maybe his Jedi sister or family member? I think his treasure will be answers to questions not riches. I see the pirates & bounty hunters chasing the kids as they want to find the mythical planet as they believe it’s full of riches & have suddenly found out it’s actually real! It’s a classic pirate tail, there’s ALWAYS a mythical island (planet in this instance) that has forbidden riches, just look at Pirates of the Caribbean as a perfect example. It’s been set out great, nicely paced, visuals are great & the characters are both lovable & mysterious enough to keep you hooked. Ep1 I’d rate 8.5 Ep2 a solid 9/9.5 cannot wait now until next Wednesday (U.K.) to watch Ep3. We’ll done Disney 🙌🏼

I do not think Jude's Character is a jedi. I think he has some tricks up his sleeve, He is a pirate after all. He heard Wim talking about how he is obsessed with the jedi, and Jude's character saw it as an opportunity to get out of the cell with the help of the Kids and get to At Attin, so he can prove to his last crew that he is still fit to be a Captain.
What a premiere! The show exceeded my expectations as well. A ton of Easter eggs and nods to other Star Wars! I think Jod is Captain Silvo, I don’t think that his crew knows he can use the force

Im so sure this was Disneyland testing the waters for rebranding the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Depp isn't really associated with Disney anymore and if this show is as big of a hit as it seems it will be, Galaxy Edge gets an expansion.
Don’t want to get to ahead of myself but with this series made awhile ago the kids have aged a bit . If this is a success maybe they can have continue with this group for years and into theatres kind of like Harry Potter.
Thought the show was great so far, I just wish they'd stop with the whole 25 minute episode bullshit. Shows used to be proper with like 20 episodes a season all at least 45 minutes. Then 10 - 12 episodes became normal but they were still 45ish minutes, with some HBO shows reaching around an hour per episode. Now they insult us with 8 episodes between 20 - 40 minutes each. The first episode gave me hope this show wouldn't be like that but ep 2 was short as hell. It was awesome to see the pirate spaceport in the second episode though. Made me think of the Nihill base in Phase 1 how they used that barrier to keep the atmosphere in but it looked open to space lol the Nihill had a whole dome barrier rather than just 1 side but still looks cool.
Those first two episodes were so good! Loved every minute of it. 10/10 for both episodes. Nice breakdown! ✌🏻 But Mike, the way you always pronounce Jod's full name .. I always have to laugh. 😅😂
Why can't Mandalorian 1,2,and 3, the book of boba fit, Ahsoka, and now Skelton Crew; just be one tv show? I just call it Star Wars: The Failed State failed state, a state that is unable to perform the two fundamental functions of the sovereign nation-state in the modern world system: it cannot project authority over its territory and peoples, and it cannot protect its national boundaries. The governing capacity of a failed state is attenuated such that it is unable to fulfill the administrative and organizational tasks required to control people and resources and can provide only minimal public services. Its citizens no longer believe that their government is legitimate, and the state becomes illegitimate in the eyes of the international community.
@aguywholovesstarwars all the mini series tell us the New Republic is failing or is joke. Plus it all leads to the New Republic falling to the First Order. Plus if all these series were under one show it would be easier for the casuals to follow. But what do I know, I'm still waiting on Rangers of The New Republic and Rogue Squadron while watching Episode 1.

Plus it all leads to the New Republic falling to the First Order.
Plus if all these series were under one show it would be easier for the casuals to follow.
But what do I know, I'm still waiting on Rangers of The New Republic and Rogue Squadron while watching Episode 1.
