    A001002 Blackfriars to Brighton seems to be OK. I'll wait a bit as YT maybe processing it still. I'll chop into to two halves and re-up it tonight if I get a chance...

    I've ridden on this route to victoria with microsoft train sim 2013 and it looks very similar. It's not easy operating a train with all the speed limits and signal warnings while trying to keep on time.

      TS2013 is not microsoft.

      ***** It's not MSTS, but RailWorks. Yes, I have driven it and I must say it has its similarities and differences, so it's purely a matter of personal opinion.

    Have a look at the track layout outside Waterloo,Cannon Street or even around Clapham Junction - the complexity of running a catenary system makes it almost impossible to do, so third rail is how it has to be.

  • @df1800
    @df1800 11 лет назад

    A train can draw as much as 15Mw when pulling away from stationary. Eurostar draws 12 for example. Because third rail runs at 750v DC in most of the UK where it is installed, you need big pick up shoes to draw that amount of power. So if you boxed it in, you'd need a big opening, so why bother going to the trouble of boxing it in when you ned to leave so much uncovered? The Docklands Light Rail has a covered third rail system, but the trains are smaller and draw much less power.

    So instead of having the power cables on poles you have it down on the ground like for a subway? That's crazy.

    Unfortunately Yes...Up to 60 people a year in the past, either by accident or tresspass. It's not just the Voltage that kills, the enormous Ampage that's the killer. If you do survive the burns are horrific, I saw a 16 year girl who lost most of the soft tissue, Muscle &c, from her lower back and right leg which vapourised. She survived but the Pain must of been horrific. Just don't go on the Tracks, juiced up or not...

    pity the UK's broke, they have ever easily been the first to have HSR. the country has very long straight stretch of track, it'll be very easy to turn to HSR, only if they had the money.

    Darren Cafferty, question. As I have never been to your lovely country, when the train was just about to enter the station, off on the right, is this St. Paul's Cathedral? Of all the photographs I've seen of England, that one view stands out the most. I am assuming that Blackfriars is a district in London? As mention by Hasan Mulla, the screen went partially gray, so I took my curser, and jumped a little ahead, but the sound was gone. I know YT has had a bug issue this past few days. Great >>

      @paulhollis8879 Год назад

      You mean at the very end of the video? Yes, it’s St Paul’s, it’s around a 3/4 mile walk from Blackfriars, which is a district of London (we’d just term it as a part of Central London).

    I like the debate that having an open, live third rail is unsafe.
    People shouldn't be trespassing on the railway in the first place!
