This is so badly written. A mother who is in denial about that will never ever acknowledge it. Plus, no daughter would actually mourn that loss because of all the torment she was put through. There wouldn't be more than trauma bonding between her and her mother anyway.

Despite what she put Frankie through, that's Frankie's mother at the end of the day so of course there will initially be even the slightest bit of mourning from Frankie. They have completely changed her character she use to be a great mum to her 3 older children Rhys Hannah and Josh so supportive when she discovered Hannah had anoxeria
Sorry but can we not now sweep all of Suzanne’s actions under the carpet just because of her last words. She has been an absolute joke of a mother and a terrible person all around and honestly, I’m glad to see the back of her.

It’s a common thing to happen that parents go into denial as no parent wants to think or admit that they’re own child could do something despicable like that and probably used the defence mechanism as a way to hide her guilt for not doing anything about it sooner. At the end of the day she was mum to both Frankie and JJ and that love don’t just go away straight away she’d always have some maternal intincts towards her son. You could see in scenes that when Frankie explained things like the phone events as well as the last 2 episodes that deep down she believed what she was being told but found it hard to face the reality of what her son has done.
Haven't watched the show in years. I see it's still subjecting it's characters to a unrealistic and sadistic amount of trauma. Not enough for that poor girl to be abused by her own brother. She needs to be involved in a crash/bomb and lose her mother In front of her. Wonder if that car bomb was an attempt to save the world by destroying the village? I hear Cleos in yet another abusive relationship. Not enough that she was groomed as a kid. And Robbie is a murderer now not surprising really half his family died in that village with in a few years of moving there and his sister in law ended up being murderer. Is Tom still about? Or did finally decide enough is enough and threw himself off a cliff?
Probably will need a life time of therapy after she's finished. The amount of trauma characters on Hollyoaks endure is beyond belief. Especially children. I thought Tom had it bad. Lost most his family, was abused by his step mum or what ever she was and end up a father all before he was 14. Luckily I got released from prison at that point so my suffering was over......not prison, prison was fine. But having to watch this every day. Fun fact if Hollyoaks was real it'd have the highest death rate on the planet and one of the lowest average life expectancy. This poor girl abused by her brother. Mum dies I'm front of her. We're still to find out she's pregnant yet.
I don't feel bad about what happened to Suzzane, she knew what was happening for years and she turned a blind eye too it, you could tell Darren wanted to show JJ compassion but couldn't because of what JJ has done

Phenomenal acting by the actress who plays Frankie. That last scream cry was from the depths of her soul there. She really went for it. It felt very real. I definitely got teary eyed. And the actor who plays JJ too. Him wanted his mum/mummy and Darren wanting to comfort him but cant because of what he did. You saw the struggle. Nancy pulling him into a hug was a big deal. Its a complex situation. But we saw him revert back into a little kid. Great acting from all. Truly. Its sad Hannah isnt involved in this.
I agree! Such great acting by everyone in that scene!! I even felt a twinge of pity for JJ as I reminded myself that even though he's a psycho sexual predator, he is also a 15 year old boy who's mother died suddenly in a horrific accident...for a moment I felt for him as a human being, and it's in our nature to comfort family in grief and severe emotional distress. Nancy basically fell on her sword, so to speak, to do what Darren couldn't in that moment. The actor that plays Darren has been so fantastic in this storyline, especially from the moment Frankie finally told him the truth up until now. He's conveyed so many complex emotions, with just a glance, or a facial expression, or teary-eyed hug for Frankie. I've loved watching the character of Darren really mature as a father, and a man in general, in this story
Wow, absolutely phenomenal acting from everyone here. Especially the ones that play Frankie, JJ and Darren. Seeing the internal battle playing out on Darren's face when he tells JJ his Mum has died. You can see that as angry and disgusted he is by his son, at the same time he's just a boy that has found out his Mum has died. I love how Nancy could clearly see the predicament that Darren was in, he could see that his son needed comforting in that moment, but he couldn't bring himself to be the one to give it to him after all he's done, so she took that burden from him and comforted a young boy that needed it at that time. It's an impossible situation but Nancy stepped up in that moment and Darren showed perfectly that he's only human and despite how much you can despise someone, those paternal instincts and feelings will always be there, regardless of how hard you fight them.
this episode was literally an emotional rollercoaster (so glad i started watching again!!!!!) - the part where jj was crying n darren wanted to comfort him but couldn’t … oh my god that must’ve been hard. & frankie … don’t even. i wanna hug her SO BAD. she’s been thru ENOUGH. i am so glad she got a lil bit of closure from her mum believing her at the end
I hate Jj with a passion so bad and he deserves so much things to come but as soon as he broke down I balled for him nobody deserves that no matter what

Bravo to Channel 4, bravo to Lime Pictures and a big bravo to those talented actors and actresses who made this episode so brilliant! Not looking forward to the time jump but I'll always be a Hollyoaks viewer and I'm proud to be one!
Ik everyone not feeling sorry for Suzanne but you got to look at in end she made the right choice ang believed frankie even if it was too late to live with her commitment. I can't lie i was in tears seeing suzanne pass and Frankie cry
It shouldn’t take near death for you to do what you should have done when you were living. She simply wanted to unburden herself as most narcissistic parents selfishly decide do only when faced with their own mortality but wouldn’t be prepared to do under any other circumstance like Suzanne who we all know would have happily continued to stand by JJ if none of this happened so no, I can’t say I was moved by her death as I feel she deserved to see the consequences of her actions and Hollyoaks should have used this storyline to draw attention to how often families enable predators and punish the victims. Just sad for Frankie who has to deal with this on top of everything else.
Please don’t let Jack die, he is an incredible character. I feel bad for Frankie losing her Mom but I don’t feel bad for JJ. I’m surprised that he has emotions after what he has put his sister through. No offence to Nancy but why hug him, he’s a sicko that doesn’t deserve any comfort.
The acting from the actors who played the twins was excellent the way JJ found out his mum was dead and immediately asked for her really shows he is still a child. Even if his character is disgusting I did feel bad for him. He will have no one now which he deserves but no one deserves to lose a mum. Is the actor who plays Jack one of the actors leaving? He’s been on it for years literally watched him on Hollyoaks since I first started watching in 2007.
Yeah it was quite touching and disturbing. Poor Darren. Knowing one of your kids is sick in the head but still a child (they're meant to be like 12 or 13 based on when they were born lol). The acting was really well done. That slight pulling away on Darren's face and the mix of dusgust and pity for his son while not conforming him. I just hope Nancy doesn't stand in to support JJ now that Suzanne passed. I hope she was just being nice but I think JJ will use that in the future.
I seriously thought Abe was going to rip Cleo a new one. Also I may have not like Suzanne all that much. But I ztarted crying when I saw her say to Frankie that she should have protected her and that she believed Frankie right b4 she died.
This episode gave me chills it was incredible seeing Charlie for the last time comforting Frankie but I know Jack's getting old but I hope he dosen't die
Yeah he does. They sat him and Jack down to tell them after Frankie went to the police. That's when she apologised to Jack for accusing him and he said there's nothing to forgive and he understands why she reacted that way. Charlie came and offered her his support after she hugged Jack.
I wonder what they'll do with JJ now. Obviously they won't forgive him anytime soon, but now he's a grieving young boy who's got no one so they'll still feel bad if they just abandon him outright!
Honestly she made a mistake. What JJ was doing to Frankie was the unthinkable but would have also been hard for a parent to come to terms with. Not saying she didn’t do the wrong things. But people can do some strange things when trying to make sense of the truth. The fact Frankie still loved her says a lot.
Seriously as soon as Frankie’s mother believers her the bikes crashes into them. JJ needs professional help. Your mum passing away. Believe me it’s one of the hardest things everyone goes through. Raping, abusing Frankie doesn’t make up for what JJ done.
Have to say I’m pretty disappointed in hollyoaks decision to kill off Suzanne before holding accountable for everything she did to Frankie and didn’t do for Frankie. She deserved to see the consequences of her disgusting and disturbing behaviour instead of being killed off and allowed to unburden herself beforehand knowing that she wouldn’t have under any other circumstance but instead would have happily continued to stand by JJ’s side knowing the truth. This would have been a good opportunity to highlight how families often enable and protect the predators/abusers of the family to the detriment and at the expense of the victim and shown her not only being criminally charged for destroying evidence but being judged and discarded socially by everyone in the village. That’s would have been the LEAST she deserved, not this.

I've watched Hollyoaks for years for probably 2 decades it's one of my favourite shows. But today episode has had me really emotional 4 all my characters, I'm so heartbroken. I was at the edge of my seat at the ending!!, I can't believe you killing my most my favs lol I'm really sad just like when Braden died I thought I was gonna die 2 😅 my poor james gone I'm actually really upset !!! 😢
@@charlalar14 its been rumoured for a while, that Gregory who plays James would be one of the actors to go, I just crossed my fingers it wasn't true, because he is one of my favorite actors on the series, playing the flawed/damaged character of James so well, so hopefully it was his own decision to leave, if he is going, and they had to work around that, because I grew to love him and Ste together after first thinking it was bad, and not him being axed from the show, but now with Ste said to stay after the time jump I strongly think James dies. In soap land everything can happen, and as much as they sometimes do their research very well to make certain real life issues seem as realistic as possible, soaps can also be very unrealistic, with for example "forgetting" certain stuff ever happened, making someone act very out of character, bringing people back from the dead or making characters survive deadly situations numerous times that would have killed them in real life or at least harmed them much more than it did.

And was not expecting that twist with Robbie and Dave. Fair play to HO for keeping that twist a secret considering they were filming on location and I’ve seen BTS photos and videos from other members of the public who were there watching and none of their footage showed Robbie, just Merc, Fox and Dave! Also where did Abe magically get a SUV from? He’s got a bike but he’s never had a car or anything like that!

These past few episodes have been great to watch and both the SA and DA/DV storylines have been extremely difficult for me to watch because I’ve been in both them situations, and full credit to all of the actors and actresses involved, their performances have been outstanding and believable. But some of the scenes with the Abe and Cleo storyline have me thinking and saying “what are the writers doing? That’s not realistic at all and the @bus3ers would never do that type of 💩 in public with people watching! That’s how they get away with what they’re doing, they do it behind closed doors and gaslight secretly not just their victims but their families and friends! They wouldn’t r*sk doing some of the things he’s done to her in public especially during this episode where people are watching and can see everything.” Them two scenes we’ve both mentioned are completely ridiculous, the one I mentioned the people were watching and recording him. And Frankie’s mom finally believing her daughter and telling her with her last breath just left me 💔! I still can’t believe that the actress and actor who plays the twins and the storyline itself hasn’t even made it onto some of the shortlists for some of the British awards this award ceremony season. They’ve been phenomenal, all the cast members involved in that storyline have but especially the two playing the twins. And the storyline has reawakened a lot of memories in me from when I was a teen that I 🔒ed away to the point where I’ve booked in for extra appointments with my therapist who I’ve been seeing and working with for years to deal and come to terms with all the CA, SA, DA and DV I went through my whole life until I met my second husband. I’m guessing that Merc’s family are going to move into her house now during the time jump and their old place will likely become a restaurant again like it’s always been apart from the time when Cindy turned it into a Gym. It’s also going to be interesting to find out how Ste managed to survive them car 💣💥s seeing as two cars went up with him and James inside one of them and both were wearing their seat belts. It’s been 100% confirmed that he’s staying on and it didn’t show him anywhere outside the vehicle that was completely on 🔥, James is definitely gone as it was confirmed that the actor was leaving. And I actually felt sorry for Rex, I think he’s fallen in love (or started to, he’s definitely got strong feelings for him.) with Ste and that’s who he was mostly concerned about, Ste being safe until it showed his expression when the cars went up. The actor who plays him has also been confirmed to be a full time cast member now instead of just a guest star for a few months. I’m guessing the producers was either testing the character with the audience or they’ve seen and realized how popular he’s become, because it seems that a lot of people have taken to or fallen in love with the character. He was only meant to be on the show for six weeks they said when they confirmed the actor was joining the show. Me personally I actually really like him and think that we’ll now see a completely different side to him just like we saw with Ethan when he first joined, he’s become another character I enjoy watching. Edit: I’ve edited my comment to split it up a bit, I didn’t realize how long it was until I posted it.

@phoebs50 i believe it's tony who visits the grave, and due to a lot of the cast being cut, anyone could have died through that year that we don't see. I know Ste stays alive so we will see how his life's pans out without james but also his life changing with this injuries he would have suffered from the crash. this year jump is gonna be great, gonna miss a lot of the cast though

This is why people dislike Hollyoaks. It's subjects it's characters to torture. Literally the most dangerous place on the planet to live. Not enough to get abused by your own brother, you need to be involved in a fatal crash and lose your mother in your arms. No doubt she'll be up pregnant to her brother and then probably lose the baby before finding out her dad has terminal cancer at which point her brother will break out of the prison he'll end up in and she'll be forced to kill him

Actually it is way too easy to sort this out. Her staying and suffering through the conseqeunces of her actions would have been much more interesting as a drama.
I’m gonna get lambasted for this. I get why Darren backed off and refused to allow JJ get close to him. And I could see the fight within him. But JJ is still his Son. Now I know that Darren is still dealing with the loss of his own Mum. So that could be why Darren was so cold to JJ.
OA sad that so many talented Actors are leaving but strange how privileged Maxine, Sienna and Mercedes get to keep their jobs. Hopefully Cleo goes to prison for what she has done
Hollyoaks does such a fantastic job of bringing the shock factor and the suspense. Something which Coronation Street has been lacking. I think the whole Corrie crew needs to go and the Hollyoaks crew should replace them instead.
I'd like to understand why JJ's 1st thought after hearing about his mom was to go straight to Frankie the sister he's been raping for years. If i was the dad i would not let him anywhere near Frankie.

It shouldn’t take near death for you to do what you should have done when you were living. She simply wanted to unburden herself as most narcissistic parents selfishly decide do only when faced with their own mortality but wouldn’t be prepared to do under any other circumstance like Suzanne who we all know would have happily continued to stand by JJ if none of this happened so no, I can’t say I was moved by her death as I feel she deserved to see the consequences of her actions and Hollyoaks should have used this storyline to draw attention to how often families enable predators and punish the victims. Just sad for Frankie who has to deal with this on top of everything else.

The acting from the actors who played the twins was excellent the way JJ found out his mum was dead and immediately asked for her really shows he is still a child. Even if his character is disgusting I did feel bad for him. He will have no one now which he deserves but no one deserves to lose a mum.

Yeah it was quite touching and disturbing. Poor Darren. Knowing one of your kids is sick in the head but still a child (they're meant to be like 12 or 13 based on when they were born lol).

I don't even watch this show but the Frankie/JJ plot has me on the edge.
Honestly she made a mistake. What JJ was doing to Frankie was the unthinkable but would have also been hard for a parent to come to terms with. Not saying she didn’t do the wrong things. But people can do some strange things when trying to make sense of the truth. The fact Frankie still loved her says a lot.
Seriously as soon as Frankie’s mother believers her the bikes crashes into them. JJ needs professional help. Your mum passing away. Believe me it’s one of the hardest things everyone goes through. Raping, abusing Frankie doesn’t make up for what JJ done.
Have to say I’m pretty disappointed in hollyoaks decision to kill off Suzanne before holding accountable for everything she did to Frankie and didn’t do for Frankie. She deserved to see the consequences of her disgusting and disturbing behaviour instead of being killed off and allowed to unburden herself beforehand knowing that she wouldn’t have under any other circumstance but instead would have happily continued to stand by JJ’s side knowing the truth. This would have been a good opportunity to highlight how families often enable and protect the predators/abusers of the family to the detriment and at the expense of the victim and shown her not only being criminally charged for destroying evidence but being judged and discarded socially by everyone in the village. That’s would have been the LEAST she deserved, not this.

@@charlalar14 its been rumoured for a while, that Gregory who plays James would be one of the actors to go, I just crossed my fingers it wasn't true, because he is one of my favorite actors on the series, playing the flawed/damaged character of James so well, so hopefully it was his own decision to leave, if he is going, and they had to work around that, because I grew to love him and Ste together after first thinking it was bad, and not him being axed from the show, but now with Ste said to stay after the time jump I strongly think James dies. In soap land everything can happen, and as much as they sometimes do their research very well to make certain real life issues seem as realistic as possible, soaps can also be very unrealistic, with for example "forgetting" certain stuff ever happened, making someone act very out of character, bringing people back from the dead or making characters survive deadly situations numerous times that would have killed them in real life or at least harmed them much more than it did.

So not one of the people watching saw Abe going through Cleo’s backpack, remove items and not bothering to check she’s okay? Yeah make it make sense! And was not expecting that twist with Robbie and Dave. Fair play to HO for keeping that twist a secret considering they were filming on location and I’ve seen BTS photos and videos from other members of the public who were there watching and none of their footage showed Robbie, just Merc, Fox and Dave! Also where did Abe magically get a SUV from? He’s got a bike but he’s never had a car or anything like that!

@@donlogan428 I know I was laughing and saying WTAF when I saw that! He literally just walked past everyone with her and again people just watched him. These past few episodes have been great to watch and both the SA and DA/DV storylines have been extremely difficult for me to watch because I’ve been in both them situations, and full credit to all of the actors and actresses involved, their performances have been outstanding and believable. But some of the scenes with the Abe and Cleo storyline have me thinking and saying “what are the writers doing? That’s not realistic at all and the @bus3ers would never do that type of 💩 in public with people watching! That’s how they get away with what they’re doing, they do it behind closed doors and gaslight secretly not just their victims but their families and friends! They wouldn’t r*sk doing some of the things he’s done to her in public especially during this episode where people are watching and can see everything.” Them two scenes we’ve both mentioned are completely ridiculous, the one I mentioned the people were watching and recording him.
And Frankie’s mom finally believing her daughter and telling her with her last breath just left me 💔! I still can’t believe that the actress and actor who plays the twins and the storyline itself hasn’t even made it onto some of the shortlists for some of the British awards this award ceremony season. They’ve been phenomenal, all the cast members involved in that storyline have but especially the two playing the twins. And the storyline has reawakened a lot of memories in me from when I was a teen that I 🔒ed away to the point where I’ve booked in for extra appointments with my therapist who I’ve been seeing and working with for years to deal and come to terms with all the CA, SA, DA and DV I went through my whole life until I met my second husband.
I’m guessing that Merc’s family are going to move into her house now during the time jump and their old place will likely become a restaurant again like it’s always been apart from the time when Cindy turned it into a Gym.
It’s also going to be interesting to find out how Ste managed to survive them car 💣💥s seeing as two cars went up with him and James inside one of them and both were wearing their seat belts. It’s been 100% confirmed that he’s staying on and it didn’t show him anywhere outside the vehicle that was completely on 🔥, James is definitely gone as it was confirmed that the actor was leaving. And I actually felt sorry for Rex, I think he’s fallen in love (or started to, he’s definitely got strong feelings for him.) with Ste and that’s who he was mostly concerned about, Ste being safe until it showed his expression when the cars went up.
The actor who plays him has also been confirmed to be a full time cast member now instead of just a guest star for a few months. I’m guessing the producers was either testing the character with the audience or they’ve seen and realized how popular he’s become, because it seems that a lot of people have taken to or fallen in love with the character. He was only meant to be on the show for six weeks they said when they confirmed the actor was joining the show. Me personally I actually really like him and think that we’ll now see a completely different side to him just like we saw with Ethan when he first joined, he’s become another character I enjoy watching.

@phoebs50 i believe it's tony who visits the grave, and due to a lot of the cast being cut, anyone could have died through that year that we don't see. I know Ste stays alive so we will see how his life's pans out without james but also his life changing with this injuries he would have suffered from the crash. this year jump is gonna be great, gonna miss a lot of the cast though

This is why people dislike Hollyoaks. It's subjects it's characters to torture. Literally the most dangerous place on the planet to live. Not enough to get abused by your own brother, you need to be involved in a fatal crash and lose your mother in your arms. No doubt she'll be up pregnant to her brother and then probably lose the baby before finding out her dad has terminal cancer at which point her brother will break out of the prison he'll end up in and she'll be forced to kill him

Actually it is way too easy to sort this out. Her staying and suffering through the conseqeunces of her actions would have been much more interesting as a drama.
I’m gonna get lambasted for this. I get why Darren backed off and refused to allow JJ get close to him. And I could see the fight within him. But JJ is still his Son. Now I know that Darren is still dealing with the loss of his own Mum. So that could be why Darren was so cold to JJ.
