    Really useful and informative, personally I like your videos that have a mixture of topics and are not item specific

    Good information I was about to ask you a few things about the arm rests. That sounds like a great idea about doing the shorter individual clips. That would sure make it easier to find information.

    nice job filming Dan! i could see everything great.bty! thanks for showing how to get into programming mode on r net threw joystick! i had no idea.

    I am fortunate to have symmetrical arms, and I'm able to feel and function best when my left and arm rests are identically set up. That is a plus with my OCD too. But how to set them perfectly identical? I put a Level app on my smart phone, That allows me to measure angles precisely. Park your chair on a level surface, then use your phone level to set them.

    That amazed me at 5:30 that you can add another joystick to Rnet. I wonder if that will work with Quantum [Curtis-Wright] systems.

    I'm trying to adjust the armrest width on my M5 and it doesn't have those two adjustment screws. So I just found that on the new M5, you loosen the screw that you removed to take off the armrest, and then push the armrest in and retighten.

      on the newer chairs they have a different, much more simple setup! there is an allen cap screw/bolt on the end of the arm rest bar, where it pivots.. loosen it a LITTLE bit, and there's a mechanism inside that will allow the bar to slide in and out :^)
      just dont try and take bolt out all the way, or loosen it up too much! (ya edited the comment - so guess ya got it taken care of lol)

      @@TotallyNormal- yeah, new chair so still trying to get things right. I made a whole bunch of little adjustments yesterday. Many of the screws were insanely tight as they hadn't been altered since Permobil built the chair. Next thing is to soften the suspension just a tiny bit.

      cool! it takes a lot of tinkering and small adjustments over a week or 2 to get everything just right :^)

    Oh and I wanted to ask you about what I think you called the ICF switches, in this video. They are the ones that control the adjustments of the seat raise, the recline, the tilt in space the leg rests. I have a panel of those on my C 300 but they don't seem to be working or even connected so I just use the the controller to do all of that. I am having some Neurosurgery soon that will fuse my whole C spine and I won't be able to look down at my controller any more so I thought if I could use the other bank of switch's I wouldn't need to actually see them. I could just feel them, when I want to adjust my seat parts. Yet I don't recall seeing the cord running through the arm rests, which you showed in this video. Just the controller connection. I want to enable the switches or if need be buy another cord or bank of switches I need to know what all of that is called so if need be I could order them. Do you happen to know what they are called ? Thanks in advance.

      hey! those are the ICS / seating switches... do they light up green, or any other color at all?
      also is it an older C300 chair? (the one with the plastic seat back instead of metal?)

    • @NJSMKMMS

      @@TotallyNormal- Sorry about the late reply. Thanks for answering. No the ICS switch doesn't light up at all. I know they are supposed to but mine doesn't. I asked you because I thought it might have been temporarily switched off on the control or something. Any way I checked it all over and the whole thing seems to be intact cord and all.It was plugged in the right place, so I don't know why it isn't working. I am not sure of the age of the chair do you know where I could find it? I don't have the usual back that these chairs come with, I have a SPEX back on mine so we can't tell from what sort of back the chair has on it either. I don't suppose I could order another one without knowing when my chair was made could I ? It would be easy enough for me to change it over, but here in AU the retailer is supposed to do even very simple things like that. Of course they over charge, then Permobil items are very pricey too. Where do you get parts from ? Thanks so much.

    • @TotallyNormal-

      do you have a twitter account? sending a DM on there might be easier to find out whats going on.. theres no way to "switch them off" in the control software - if they're not lighting up, theres a wiring issue, or they're disconnected, or some sort of control problem. sometimes the connector comes unplugged inside of the actual ICS switch box.. ive got a video on how to repair those - and shows how to open it. some of the SUPER OLD ones dont have lights at all.. but they have silver buttons that kinda look like breathe-rite nasal strips lol if ya have a twitter account - might be able to send some pics etc, and help troubleshoot

      @@TotallyNormal- Thanks for finding the time to answer me.
      No I try to limit my time on social media. I waste enough time just on YT so no, no Twitter account sorry.
      Any way I got brave last night and in the time between medication doses when my mind was less foggy I disconnected and gently shook the ICS. Sure enough there was something rattling around inside it. I opened it up and something had broken off the circuit board. I could see where the bit ( please excuse the very tech specific jargon) had broken off but it's way too tiny for my husband to try and resolder The rest of the switch looked OK to me, so maybe I could just buy another circuit board. Fortunately there was an item number and a ser number. Unfortunately it seems like it's a Permobil specific item, but not sure on that one? Anyway the item number is 311302 and the ser number is 4315024. So my next question is where would I buy one ? Thanks so much.

      EEEBAAAYYY!!!! lol (ebay) looks like theres a few of them for around $80-100 ish.. try a bunch of search terms to find them..permobil switchbox, R-Net seating, ics switches etc etc.. theyre not super cheap.. but its really hard to find PCB boards, and internal parts.. everyone seems to sell things an whole assemblies unfortunately..

    My electric wheelchair armrest gave way as I was trying to get in my chair. It's flat leaning on frame. What do I need to do to repair?

    Great info. Thanks

    • @TotallyNormal-
      @TotallyNormal-  5 лет назад

      DOOH!! I forgot about that!! Lol there’s a little tiny flathead screw right under the bolt that holds the arm rest on the chair it’s connected to the little detent ball on the other side - lightly turn the screw till you feel some resistance while raising and lowering the arm rests on each side. This mechanism is one of the first things to wear out.. but usually still works. Let me know if you find it!

    Can you adjust the length by moving the mounting attachment back? Referring to the hardware that attaches to the Unirail?

    • @TotallyNormal-
      @TotallyNormal-  2 года назад +1

      yes! ya can adjust the sliders in the rails on the bottom and get almost any length ya need!

    • @joshgoldstein1568

      @@TotallyNormal- Is it fairly quick and easy? Would I just loosen the hardware on the mounting bracket and then tighten? My concern is what to do with the RNet cable as it is the joystick arm, looking to move back approximately 3.5 inches to not need to reach to address the joystick. Thanks

      if you happen to have a permobil.. i have links to some STL files that make a compatible mount for 3G arm rests! they slide right into the tracks! one of the patreons designed them!
