History of sevenoaks station can be found down below 👇🏻
Sevenoaks railway station was opened on 2 March 1868. It was formerly known as "Tubs Hill", after the adjacent area. There is a second station, on the branch to Swanley Junction, which opened on 2 June 1862. The station is named after the Bat & Ball local inn which is now closed, and serves the north end of the town.
The two lines to Sevenoaks were electrified in January 1935. When the station was reconstructed in the 1970s a new ticket office was built replacing the old wooden S.E.R. building. The largest version of the Southern Region D70 type glass box station, this reconstruction was designed by regional architect Nigel Wikeley.[1] Two additional side platforms were also abolished.
Sevenoaks is part of the rail franchise which, post-privatisation, was served by Connex South Eastern. Subsequent to their 'sacking' in 2003 due to poor financial management (although their train operating performance had been very poor), services were operated by South Eastern Trains, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Strategic Rail Authority. On 1 April 2006, Southeastern, owned by Govia, took over management of the station as part of the new Integrated Kent Franchise.
History of the class 465s 👇🏻
The Network SouthEast sector of British Rail began the planning for the development of the Class 465 Networker in 1988, and invited a tender for 710 of the units to be built.[8] The Class 465 was introduced in order to replace the 41-year-old Class 415 (4EPB) slam-door EMUs.[9]
The first was delivered in December 1991 and the last in April 1995.[10][11] The units entered passenger service from 1 December 1992 with a ceremony at Cannon Street station, by Transport Secretary John MacGregor.[12] As part of the privatisation of British Rail, the 97 465/0s and 465/1s were sold to Eversholt Rail Group and the 50 Class 465/2s to Angel Trains.[13][2]
All trains were originally supplied in Network SouthEast livery and branded "Kent Link Networker".[9] They are mostly used on suburban routes out of London Victoria, Charing Cross, Blackfriars and Cannon Street to destinations in South London and Kent.[14]
Some are scheduled to be replaced by Class 707s,[15] with two hauled to Worksop for store by Harry Needle Railroad Company in June 2021.[16]

@@AnthonyFurnival a disgrace, not sure why units like the 465s that are only 29 years old are being stored and scrapped earlier then the 313s that are 46 years old!!!!!?????

@@thekentishtrainspotter3052 it’s a mystery - I think the thing which has saved the 313s is that they are ridiculously reliable and Southern don’t like spending money. Personally, I think the 365 and 465 should have had un upgrade programme like the class 321 Renatus units - replace windows, add air con, new seats and flooring, refit the toilets - they could have turned old units into something completely fit for the 21st century- sadly TOCs and the government seem obsessed with scrapping old units despite good reliability
