I’m pretty sure the 2021 Spielberg adaption managed to fulfill Sondheims wish with the expletive in the ‘Officer Gropke’ number 😉 👍

I remember seeing an amateur production of WSS in which swear-lyrics were "reinstated" to no avail. Yes it would have shocked 50 or 60 years ago, but now, well... I don't think it "improved" the show in any way.
