  • In this video - I'll show some highlights that caught my eye, from the Parowan Gap. I HAVE NOT been here before, so this is all new to me - as well as (some) of you too. There are many signs of old Spanish, ancient Archaic, and Native cultures here. Including some dinosaur tracks. Another hidden ancient marvel found in nature, that I can't wait to show you!. They refer to this area as "The Red Hills" Exploring this area has made me think about why these particular mountains stand out so much. Its's a popular place for rock climbers and hikers also. And it was unexpected, when I found some additional new camping spots. Never a dull moment, when you're out exploring our beautiful state of UTAH in the American Southwest. Again - IF you're looking for a nice mellow road trip with some gorgeous scenic views - stay tuned.
    Glad you joined us today, and every week. Hopefully you "liked" 👍this video, and we'll return next week with another one. Have a great night!

    I am so glad they fenced that off. I used to live in Paragona and there were some kids on quads that weren't respecting the petroglyphs. Beautiful. Thank You 😊

    At 13:47 when the petroglyph goes into the ground, no telling how much debris and dirt has built up there. I'd want to dig, but I know that's impossible. I think those caves are filled up with mud too. Looks like that was a busy place and inhabited for thousands of years. The styles of the gliffs are ancient. Even the great pyramids were buried in 40 feet of sand, before they excavated. There are non-invasive ways to see under the dirt now. This spot is special. I'm guessing trading posts. I've heard a lot of the lines are tally marks, to keep track of items traded. Thanks for taking us along. There's a lot of history around there that no one knows about.

      So true. I didn't even think about that. How many are under the dirt.🤔 I agree this was a busy place. At least 3 different cultures, I think . But definitely a special place. With a ton of history.

    Awesome trip. The most northern part of the Old Spanish Trail is in the San Rafael Swell, (base of Cedar Mt). The natrual water tanks are still there.

    Sad to say it has been 30+ years since I have stopped at the Gap. Let's just say the fencing and railing were not there and the road was still gravel. Good to see it has been preserved well. Thanks for the rewind of memories. Great video Curtis!

      @@offroad801 It's on the backroad to Parawon from the Summit exit. Big old Cottonwood. During the winter I have seen upwards of a dozen Bald Eagles roosting in it waiting for something to jump and run.

    Approximately 15 million years ago, a long slender section of sedimentary rock sheared from the earth's crust along parallel fault lines. This up-thrown block, later named the Red Hills, began to inch its way above the surrounding valley floor. At the same time the block was rising, a stream was cutting a path perpendicularly across the ridge. For millions of years the uplifting of the ridge and the down-cutting of the stream remained in equilibrium.
    Eventually however, the relentless rise of the ridge and the drying of the region's climate combined forces to defeat the stream. The stream disappeared and the valley became a waterless wind gap. Continued erosion by wind and rain have shaped the gap into the pass seen today.

    Wow Curtis. Such a variety of petroglyphs 🤯. I'd find it hard to determine what's real history, and what's added for fun! (or to muddy the waters 👀).
    These days, nothing is quite what it seems IMHO 🤔

    • @offroad801
      @offroad801  6 месяцев назад +1

      There is a big variety of styles for sure. Even the people that think they know. Don't know they can only guess. I think it's weird that the older ones seem to be of a higher quality than all the rest. 🤔 One of the info boards gave 2 different ideas of what the biggest carving might mean. But I didn't even read it all. Just because I can make up stuff too😇

      If you have seen many traditional dancers before, you would recognize the carvings as that, like I do. But I know what you mean.. the most famous "aliens" rock art, is up Seko Canyon, toward the ghost town of Seko Utah.. an old coal mining community ... You can get there via interstate 70 at the Thompson turnoff north (Thompson is modern day ghost town from uranium days) .. Thompson is about 10 miles east of the turnoff to Moab on I 70.. Moab is south... there are also dinosaur tracks on the east side of the Moab highway across the RR tracks about 2 miles in. The turnoff is across from the repeater station on the west side of the highway about 4 miles north of the scenic tours airport.

      @usmcmustang2972 Awesome. I haven't been to Seko yet, but it is on the list. I've found a lot of amazing rock art so far. But there's so much left to find. So, thank you for reminding me about Seko. Mr. TV head in Black Dragon Canyon 🐉 Is my favorite so far.

    I understand what a lot of the glyphs in your video mean. The entire Canyon Lands area, west of Roswell, is a record of events of what has occurred on Earth over the last 5 years or so. You may ask how is that possible? The answer lie in the skills of those who left the UFO.. Oddly enough, at 00:33 secs, your video comes upon a score card.. The rocks black because the behaviour is as equally dark. It involves racing children in sexual games by the Elite. In this instance, to the death for those recorded on the rock. The fate of the two finalist.. One was named emu... she looks left... the other, an African girl. All our world Leaders were there and the Royals... Naval and Police support and security.. .. the child rape shown very clearly at 6:53. The child on the right with her skirt lifted and on the left a white line showing the profile of a persons face.( face plate and face having been removed from skull) . through its mouth extends a penis... ..on its way to the child.. Thats why the UFO was left where it was. ..When they come through our clouds they'll already have removed this lot... and everybody that protects them.... at this point the Leaders have had over 5 years to have told the truth. .. If you look at my page you'll find my other page too. Cheers. BTW... I think many will be gone before Easter.
