Great info! Your comparison videos are always incredibly helpful.
Great video! Would love also a list of CPU and GPU for 3D work
Have a look at the other videos where I tested all the CPUs for creators :)
Please make with premiere pro 😊
Great video thanks for showing DaVinci Resolve resolt
what i like are the soundtracks, colour schemes, detailed information, you on point BRO....
:)
Awesome video, thank you very much!
You're very welcome!
Great vid! ❤ Which CPU / setup is closer to Mac Studio M2 Mac, if any? I m frustrated trying to move away frm apple
nice video,
would you say that a "lenovo p620" is enough for 12k Postproduction / Da Vinci? (instead of building an own custom Pc)
So if I were to build a PC from scratch would you go 13700k or 7700x (for it's upgradeability on AM5) - I would pair this with my spare 4070 Ti I have laying around. Also I would mostly use this for 4K video.
Again Great video! I know, you cant test every single CPU.. but it would be great if you could through in a 5900x or 5950x for comparison to see how much you performance you loose with a top tier am4 CPU.
Is there a reason you pick the lest common i5 variant i5-12600K, instead of the more common i5-12500? Is it because you want all the CPU to be unlocKed?
@theTechNotice I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP. I'm building a pc and I can't decide about cpu. What would you suggest for video editing (davinci) i7 14700k or ryzen 9 7950x ? I'm planning to use rtx 4080 super. Your answer would be appreciated :)
I just upgraded.. from an i5 8th gen and a 1070. To a I5 13500 an an 8gb 4060. It crunches videos 3.5 times faster. Going to up the ram. Buy the best you can afford. Is the best advice you should give.
I was at a 9900k/3060/32gigs at 3200mhz to a 14900k/igpu/64gigs at 6000mhz for vegas pro 18. Damn thing is fast.
Sorry for a noob question (wasn't clear for me in the vid): what PC spec are u using to test this (eg ram, graphics card etc)? All the same? Thx
The computer and motherboard has to change for each family of cpu, because a threadripper has a different socket than a cpu for intel or am5 cpu.
All linked in the description below ;)
Does your intel motherboard have the CEP function in the bios? Might be a contributing factor in the 14700k being slower than the 13700k.
nice vid
Love the content!!!! Went with the 13700K which has been a great work horse...undervolted which is a must as you lose NO performance...
Yes the cheapest performance has been paying $300 directly for the license, which I recommend. This was the first software I paid in a very long long time, outside of games.
The results are odd, why would a 14700k be slower than a 13700k? The 14700k has more cores and faster clock.
Honestly, beats me 🤯
Because why not? I have 13700K and it's a beast.
Yeah the 14700K slower than a 13700K makes no sense? I'd go back and re-test as this can't be a valid test. The 14700K clocks higher, has more e-cores and has a slightly better memory controller for faster ram. I don't buy these results. Furthermore nearly every benchmark I've seen online from other testers puts the 14700K tied w/ the 13900K or comes very very close which was the reason I opted for it over the 13900K cuz it runs cooler and uses less pwr. Imo the 14700K is the sweet spot cpu in the current line up.
Another great video man! Thanks. It's just strange that 14700k is slower than 13700k.
Probably cos it's new CPU. Can't wait for DR19 benchmark. Maybe they update the way 14700 is used
How will these compare to Apple M3 Silicon?
Ok i have an rtx 4090, r9 5900x, and 32GB DDR4 (8x4) resolve studio… i use fusion and effects alot, lots of recaching…. whats my best bang for buck move? 1) upgrade to 64gb ddr4? 2) Upgrade to 128gb ddr4? 3) upgrade to AM5 (7900/7950x?) along with 64gb ddr5?
i have an AMD 7700X and davinchi tends to hang as the cpu temp spikes dips
To be fair, can you add in intel baseline profile for 14900k and 14700k.
I have a 7950X and a ProArt X670E motherboard. I’ve been less than thrilled with its performance in rendering and gaming. Is it worth considering selling them and going with a 13700k system with the newer Z790 proart board, or should I stick with the 7950X? I don’t even game on the system anymore as I have a SFF 13600K system on an MSI mITX board that I use for that.
just wait for next gen lol
@@mustbescud sad face. Money is burning a hole in my pocket. Must spend now, lol.
@@ChrisVirgilio Well then a threadripper I guess, that is what I am thinking about
@ChrisVirgilio lol just hang on just a little bit longer. Ducktape the pockets if you have to lol
I'd wait for the 9950x :)
A CPU with a good single core performance will just work with no issues so any 13th or 14th gen INTEL Processor or 7000 series AMD RYZEN CPU will just work perfectly fine
YOU DO NOT NEED A POWERFUL CPU FOR RESOLVE, YOU JUST NEED A GOOD CPU
SHELL OUT ALL YOUR CASH FOR A REALLY REALLY POWERFUL GPU
depends on the codec
By any chance are you gonna do a GPU for DaVinci one, as well? Is the quality of life better now with AMD using DaVinci? I remember years ago you lasted a week with it, but a few videos ago you said you recommend it now. What changed?
Yeah, it's coming on 2nd of May :)
@@theTechNotice Why that far away? LOL! Can't wait - 'hope you can compare a lot of gpus - from both nvidia and amd - nvidia 30 series, 40 series vs amd rdna 3 cards (in particular) - rdna 2 cards don't seem to perform very well? I'm shopping (hoping to buy) a gpu but can't decide - I already have an Intel 12700k from when 12th gen came out and Quick Sync was a benefit compared to AMD's AM4. So, that cpu comparison was interesting. I'll shut up now. C'mon, May 2nd! :)
@@danp2306 I think that’s a reasonable amount of time. This takes a lot of effort, especially with how many 40 series are out there.
@@theTechNotice I really appreciate it! If you could, simply just mention how each card scrubs through the timeline for the cards that are the most popular? I find my 5900x and 3070 have an issue scrubbing through in DaVinci so I’m trying to build a more reliable PC
Excellent video. The 13700k is $345 at newegg right now. Looks like a really good price/performance choice. 🤔
Well, che k out the 14700k price as well, sometimes the newer one is cheaper :)
would you do a test to see where the 5900x/5950x for people that still have them/get them for cheap?
I'm surprised you didn't mention the benefits of the Intel CPU's with iGPU's for those working in h264 or h265 since the media engine can decode those leading to much better timeline performance over AMD. That's why I'll be upgrading my 5950X to Arrow Lake... possibly. Might just grab the 14900K if I can find one for a deal.
how did you buy so many CPUs?
I believe it would be great to include Apple CPUs in these comparisons in the future
Abit more complicated, but I agree!
Im curious about new ryzen 9000....hoping working more well in davinci and AI.
We'll see! :)
@@theTechNotice of course😃
Any chance for the new AMD 8000 series benchmark? 🥺
Are these results that scientific? 5200MT/s - 5600MT/s, 6000MT/s, XMP - EXPO on or off? Apart from the ECC kits surely the only hardware to change is the CPU and motherboard
First, yo. Great vid.
Cmon atleast put in the 7800x3d, its very popular and id like to know how it ranks for editing
Best ram, cpu, gpu, etc for Blender?
Something is wrong here. The 14th gens are generally a lot slower than 13th gen? Odd.
why all the ks
no point in k if I'm not going to overclock buddy
What about 12400
this video does not appear in my sub box FYI, found it in the recommended section even though i've been subbed for a long time
That is alarming!
This makes no sense. 13700K is faster than 14700K and 7900X is faster than 7950X, but 7960X is faster than 7950X or 7900X and sometimes 7700X is faster than 7950X, but not 7900X. Considering 7950X has higher single core clocks than 7700X or 7900X and 7700X has only one chipset, but 7900X has two like 7950X and both 7900X and 7950X have more cache than 7700X, there simply is no logic.
One thing I could imagine is using gravely inadequate cooler so that 7950X overheats the most and maybe the same thing between 14-series and 13-series Intel. Could of course be many other things too, like not using fresh install after every test, some issue or settings problem with some of the test systems or something.
Based on ur vid, does this build make sense? For 4K, color grading, some fusion.. wanna hear any opinion
CPU: Intel Core i5-13600K
Mobo: Gigabyte Z790 Aero G
GPU: RTX 4070 Ti Super 16Gb
RAM: Team T-Create Classic DDR5 5600MHz 64Gb (2x32Gb)
SSD: Solidigm P44Pro 1Tbx1 (OS) +
SSS2: Solidigm P44Pro 2Tbx1 (Project)
Cooler: NZXT Kraken 360
Fan: Arctic P12 Max
I think that based on your build you'll be easily covered and 8k will also be possible and I envy your choice of graphic card but I can't justify the price(I'm working with a lesser system and getting things done). Just be aware that if you want to use the AV1 codec with an Nvidia card you'll need the Studio version of Resolve.
@@markwornom1050 thx for ur inputs. It's still in the design stage, still weighing cost-performance factor 😁.
Yes i m using DR Studio 18. Stuck on my old imac OS Catalina (v18.6 demands Monterey++, dammit 🤭). Hence, the PC for it's sensible upgradeability.
@@markwornom1050 i m looking at the new 3060 12Gb version. Heard some gd comments on it.
Otherwise, the intel arc A770 for its dual encoders. Any thoughts?
@@markwornom1050 may u be kind enough as to spill ur "lesser system", kinda curious. I wanna avoid overkill w 8K, I don't hv or plan to get any 8K cam anytime soon
@@talktalk4503 I'll get back to you.
Why is 13700K faster than 14700K ?
Quite surprised that 13700 is obviously better than 14700.
Ryzen 5 7600x is the best value for money who are under budget i believe? Because it out perfoms i5 12600k in all the tests..
Please make with premiere pro 😊
Done! Have a little browse on the channel 3 months ago :)
But make a new video please 😅😊
Nothing changed since then :)
Thanks big brother any RUclipsr don't respond me and you respond thanks 😂😊
I wonder how 13900K + 6400 Ram can perform, 13900K can easily drive 6400MT/s DDR5 Ram
But what about the 8600G? 😂
