Loving these older vlogs!! Adam you have come a long way in your vlogging adventures!! So cool you vlogged this place, it is now history!! Loved Parenthood!!
yes thanks to Adam for making these videos. I went to Florida/Orlando in 1992 but I don't remember if I went to this place or not. We went to one of the water parks and got sun stroke i remember that.
@adamthewoo did you know you were actually doing an episode of an abandoned film location? My little brother shot the film Parenthood in Orlando back in the late 80s. We shot here for almost 2 weeks. Lots of great memories.
Oh wow! I wish this video was longer when you went inside. lol. I really wish I could explore this place. I would go nuts filming and taking pictures. I LOVE this kind of stuff. Great video. :)
Starting at 1:23 you go through a tunnel, which for some reason has a large radar dish in it (camera left). I can only guess that the dish was supposed to be part of a time machine that "transported" players back to the jurassic era (???). Also, I'm guessing the tunnel was the Dark Lark in the original Mystery Mini-Golf? (Unfortunately, while I remember much of Mystery Mini-Golf, I don't actually recall the Dark Lark. I've just heard it described. Sounds like it was pretty neat!)
Mystery Funhouse reminded me of that small park in Pigeon-Forge, TN, Magic World that used to be there, it's also gone too. Two different locations, this was in Florida, Magic World was in TN, but both had that "mystery"-feel to them. It does suck when great places like that close that you grew up with, as well as the Myrtle Beach Pavilion going away back in 2006. :( By the way, did you guys go through the actual Fun House in the video? That'd freaked me out, with it abandoned like that! LOL I never went through it when it was operating, not knowing if it had creatures that jumped out at you. I only played games in the arcade when I went, I never got to play putt putt either. My parents just stopped by there just once. I'd liked to had stayed longer though. IF only I had a time machine..... lol
The fact that mostly everything of the former attraction is left as it was might come to some good. If and when Westgate ever decides to sell the place, it hopefully will be bought by some Mystery Fun House fan who could resurrect the old attraction to show the new generation just how good we had it when we were young. ; )
I used to work here. I was the voice of the guy who welcomed you to the Inner Sanctum, And also did security for some of the private parties. My favorite spot to work in was The Magic Shop.
I'm a bit amused right now... I searched for "Orlando Eye vlog" and this was one of the suggested results, LOL... Not that I don't enjoy some of your lesser-known older stuff, but that's a little bit of a stretch, wouldn't you say? ;)
I also remember this place! My family stayed at what used to be called the Twin Towers hotel (later it was the Radison, then maybe the Doubletree). Don't know who owns it now but it's likely to have changed hands once again . . . We went to TGI Friday's next to MFH and my son cried like crazy for us to take him to MFH after dinner. Although I didn't really want to go I'm sure glad I did because not only was it a LOT of fun, it was the last and only time I would be able to go while still open.
I can't get over how many abandoned places there are in this area..left to rot and not closed off. They don't leave places like this in San Diego...usually rebuild right away. So sad to see how hard this area has been hit by the economic problems.
I thought I saw some of the dinosaurs from this for sale at Global Imports on mills in winter park. They had one sitting out in the parking lot for awhile.
omg i miss this place so much i really wishi could get a time machine and go back there when it was open i went there when i was very little and i remember that creepy animatronic band i wish i could see a whole walk through video of the funhouse when it was open and someone would post it on youtube if someone has a video and posted it that would be so awesome or i wish someone could post videos of the animatronic band longer than the fatherhood clip im so happy my parents brought me there when i was little rip mystery fun house you will be missed
Owning a sign shop myself I couldn't help but notice at 4:45 that this place looks like its being used as a sign shop. Looks like I see a wide format printer, and some rolls of vinyl, and work tables. Is this correct?
Wait,I am confused. In the one of the MFH maps it showed that the Wizards band was on the roof of the part where you order food. But here it shows that the “food” part was sealed off by a colored wall. Were the cashiers moved to a different spot or was it just covered by the colored wall?
Holy S**t - that was kind of creepy how it's just left unlocked (maybe not after this video) wow - we used to visit there a couple times a year from 1976 to 1982 ... so sad I can actually say that... and creepy...
4:10 Another EVP, sounds like "All we see here" or somthing like that... see what you can make out of it b/c my kids are making too much noise in the background for me to make it out. The first EVP is definitley "What are you doing down here?".
2:34 a man or a young woman saying what are you doing down their? 3:07 a lady saying Get out 2X 4:11 A woman saying Help me Wow!! Adam thats pretty cool you should so this sometime to some paranormal investigaters.
@mattfirebird , I remember Ronnies ,, rudest waitresses in Orlando .. but the New Yawkers loved it. The bakery (to the right as you faced the restaurant was decent enough)
NOOOO! You were so close to filming inside the funhouse itself! make another video! Orlando has surely gone to shit now. How could they ever close this or Skull Kingdom? Nothing is sacred, man I miss the 90's...
jacob holt It's been rumored that the original Mystery Fun House will be gutted and rebuilt using new technology. As of February 2013 no permits have been filed with Orange County. As of March 2, 2013 the front part of building has been repainted in its original color. In May 2015 Westgate Resorts posted job openings looking for carpenters and vehicle graphics installers for the Mystery Fun House, leading many to believe the rebuilding of the MFH will be started soon.
From 12 years ago to today, you're still the King of Vlogs my friend! Thanks for including us on your adventures!
Loving these older vlogs!! Adam you have come a long way in your vlogging adventures!! So cool you vlogged this place, it is now history!! Loved Parenthood!!

Adam, thanks for recording places like these before they disappear.

So what are the tricks to get inside a place like this? It seems like everything's padlocked. Do you have a lock-pick or masterkey collection?
Growing up in Orlando is such a weird mess of run down and brand new memories
I can't get over how many abandoned places there are in this area..left to rot and not closed off. They don't leave places like this in San Diego...usually rebuild right away. So sad to see how hard this area has been hit by the economic problems.
it's so cool of you to fix the sign.

Rumor has it, someone in Orlando is looking into re-opening Mystery Fun House. Wikipedia is saying that, go on to the site.
