Thanks appreciated I did it w/o pulling the liner down, pull the fabric down and away, first then slip the latch through out of the way and pop it out that way. Your fix is the fix.
My girlfriend's trunk latch stopped working or so we thought. She was quoted 535 bucks at the dealership. Turns out that white plastic tab gets stuck. If you use wd40 or white lithium grease on that white plastic tab it'll loosen and start working again
