I love this gloriously over-produced song. It’s what makes it so memorable. Like you said, it just keeps changing and getting better and better. This is one of those songs they made where you can feel them wanting to fill every space. It’s pretty great ear candy.

If you 2 haven't watched the performance video to this from 'ABBA in Swizerland special' you have missed the sun and the moon together. It's a dual performance in transition with LOVERS.The intro featuring Agnetha's close up facial shots and the way she uses the expressions in her face, is just out of this world for every one that feels in love.Just watch and tell us (since you don't wanna share the video with us)

I have always LOVED this song. It’s like a sonic boom of melody, harmony and synthy dance beat energy. Agnetha’s vocals are literally soaring to unbelievable heights. I’ve always thought this is one of ABBA’s under appreciated songs. I love the similarities with the opener of the Voulez-Vous album which is “As Good As New” because both are high octane dance pop bangers and they share the same “sneak up on you” gentle, mellow intros and then BANG! They kick into warp drive. ❤ABBA❤

Voulez Vous is ABBA's disco album. They were part of the music scene at that time, and everyone was doing disco (think Blondie "Heart of Glass" and Kiss "I Was Made for Loving You" ). ABBA's music is so much more than disco. Their music is timeless and covers many genres. Keep listening, and you'll hear it all.

    behind the worldwide hit "Chiquitita"
    "Kisses of fire" (1979)
have a premiere in the TV perfomance

Kissed Of Fire is a typical Voulez Vous track and i thought it to be contender for single release as If It Wasn't For The Nights or As Good As New. The album, never considered their best overall, is imo underrated.. because so many songs suitable for single as on no other album. Voulez Vous, Chiquitita, I Have A Dream and Does Your Mother Know had been the international singles. Angeleyes was in the charts with Voulez Vous in the US and UK, As Good As New was sccussfull in Mexico but probably more so by it's spanish B-Side of I Have A Dream.... but besides these internationally released 6 songs If It Wasn't For The Nights and Kisses Of Fire could have easily been successful singles, maybe even more than Does Your Mother Know and Voulez Vous.. in total 8 out of 10 songs hot contender. What a percentage. Only the brilliant The King Has Lost His Crown and Lovers (Live A Little Longer) were not strong enough for single release... what an album. I couldn't say that 8 out of 10 or 9 were suitable for single release on Super Trouper or The Visitors...

'When you sleep by my side I feel safe and I know I belong' at 1:24 - sounds very similar to the breathy BeeGees style - are ABBA taking from anywhere/everywhere and paying tribute to the 70s while actually in the middle of it all - look at Frida and Agnetha's Wonder Woman inspired belts and Studio 54 inspired dresses on the cover of the album and the Star Wars- like lightsaber that Benny is holding on to - and they put it all together and put their ABBA stamp on it to make it their own - genius.

Huge vocal range from the girls, particularly Frida who has the longer travel to the unison chorus. Agnetha is a pure soprano, so she has the shorter travel to that high unison chorus. Frida is a mezzo-soprano so she has the longer travel to that high unison chorus.
Bjorn Ulveras has explained this over the years. He said Frida has a very wide range.

Sometimes I have differences of taste and opinion about ABBA's songs and albums.
We can not always like everything and/or everyone
And this is one of the cases
I know this was a highly requested song, and the majority of comments confirm it.
In my opinion it is an acceptable song (5/6pts) on a good album (7pts), but it has highs and lows
The level of ABBA's songs is so good that for me they have many better songs (I have 50 with a minimum of 8pts) and better albums too (Voulez Vous is seventh among the nine ABBA albums)
And I must clarify that the interpretation in the TV special in Switzerland is very good
ABBA uses the resource of a spoken or narrated introduction a lot and so well, follow by a change of rhythm. Remember just a few:
Dance (while the music still goes on)
    Move on
    Thank you for the music
    Don't shut me down
(curiously with Agnetha in the most of all introductions)
and I like all these songs much more than
    "Kisses of Fire"

You should hear Benny's current version of this song, with his fiddlers, reeds, flutist and such in "BAO" :)
A different vibe for sure (Helen and Tommy singing instead of Agnetha and Frida), but it's still him.

Lovers live a little longer - if you are constantly impressed with ABBA, and always surprised - as you can record all the times you state that - then the same will happen when you react, to the above song.
+ Still review Dum Dum Diddle
    Thanks

Well, I still hope that someday you will make a reaction video for "Dream World". Absolutely amazing song. Btw, a little part of this sing was used in "Kisses Of Fire" long before "Dream World" was officially released after having been discarded for about a decade.
