I lived in london my whole life and she sounds like an average Aussie with some American influence. There is NOTHING wrong with her English - she's not here to give a speech for a literature prize ffs, that's how a normal person talk in a daily conversation.
Indeed... we don’t have to impress the listeners with any heavy vocabularies because we are not attending to any classes as long as we can speak proper English with the correct usage of grammar.

she's definitely fluent in english, i don't know why these people are saying she isn't... its because she has australian mixed asian accents so her pronounciation sounded a bit weird, but her grammar and choices of words are exellent!
Whoever says she isn't fluent in English, YOU don't know English. She has an Australian accent but it's also mixed up with another accent. That's all. To the non-native English speaker this may sound like she's not fluent, but she is.

I don’t understand why people question her English, she is very fluent and there is no weird accent. What kind of big words you people expect to hear in a chat? She wasn’t doing a presentation just chatting.
I’m surprised how her accents changed and developed over the years. I first heard of Hannah 13yrs ago before she married Jay. Back when she was on Hei sei hui mei mei. She had a mix of Taiwanese and Australian accent. Now it’s developed into a Taiwanese American one, esp after associating with the American entertainment industry.
My accent also changes now and then slightly depending what accent I listen to a lot.
Her English has improved so much compared to the video where she was interviewed in Brisbane with her dad. But I find it hard to listen to her full interview here, kind of faking her accent a bit, not natural.
She's seems down to earth, so hopefully she has a long career.

Wow judging a book by its cover seriously ? Hannah worked hard even after she got this role, so judging her solely because she doesn't speak English *fluently* is so meann. She's just a girl living out her dreams , yes she has a famous husband, but the training part that comes after getting the role is her working hard

I saw one of her ads before. This interview is so much better. I could tell she’s got an Australian accent, not Australian Australian but more like an international Australian. Believe me, you will know what I mean by Australian Australian if you ever watch Australian local Channels on the TV. She’s very likely to have learnt phonics in Australia, or influenced by her family members. But you know, accent can change. Even for someone who was born and raised in Australia, she can still develop an Chinese accent on top of what she had. So what? She is just fine.
The accent you were referring is Aussie bogan accent right? I believe Hannah grow up in a poshy area in Australia, where people try to talk different to the bogan Aussie accent haha

I watched this movie last week, and I had this weird feeling of knowing who she was but didn't actually remember who she exactly was , than I said to myself that she is possible one of those actresses from Hong Kong.. since the movie was about Hong Kong lol

In my opinion, her English is good enough for a non-native English speaker. Can you imagine yourself speaking another language with her level of confidence and fluency in a boardcast interview? I don't think I can even speak as confident as her in my mother tounge. Great amount of efforts are put into this I'm sure.

After reviewing the interview video, after reading the comments and then listening to the interview without looking at the interviewee! I would say:
Hannah's English did a great job in the interview, and she focused on answering the questions related to the character she played in the movie. A little nervousness was totally acceptable in my opinion! Besides, the interviewer by the way, she had weird accent if we talked about "English" in this case and no one here commented about it?!!.
SO...try to listen to the interview's conversation by not looking at the screen and just listen, it would be a totally picture! =]]]] Just saying! Cheers!
