Great video, Rico. Appreciate you both taking the time to create it! Three questions: 1. When incorporating, can you use your personal/local address or do you need a virtual one? 2. Is it better to be paid as a salary or dividend? 3. Where are your social insurance contributions deducted? (From the company’s side or from your pay?) My girlfriend and I spent 3 months in Cyprus in 2018 (Chlorakas) and another 3 months last year when COVID kicked off. Keeping our options open for 2022… 😎
Hey there, thanks for your comment. We really appreciate the nice words. 1. The business address is usually where you operate your business. But, technically, you could also use a virtual address. It's just important to receive letters and utility bills so that you don't have problems with any KYC or other important processes. 2. This really depends on your individual situation. However, at 9:12 you have one option that makes sense for many digital nomads. 3. You pay the SI contributions manually to the social insurance department, from your business bank account. And the amount is separate from your salary. I hope these answers help you with your decision. Great to hear you've been to Chlorakas as I live here. Maybe see you in the future, until then stay healthy and all the best to you and your girlfriend! Rico :)

Great video! Could you also do a video on internet speed/quality, especially outside central pathos? I am concerned about possibilities to work and game from home without a good internet.
Hello Per-Olof, first thank you very much for your comment. The internet in Cyprus is very stable these days. I lived in Paphos, Limassol, Larnaca and Pervolia and I don't feel any difference between the cities. The internet mostly depends on your plan and the upload + download capabilities. At home, I have a relatively low plan, but it's totally fine for browsing, streaming etc. If I would upgrade my plan I could easily do more heavy usage tasks. But it doesn't make sense for me as I also go to the office and have excellent internet there. For you, it probably would make sense to go with a 50k - 100k download plan. Hope that helps, Ricardo!
@@Rico Could you for instance get 100 Mbps Download in Peyi - Coral Bay. We will have 3-4 simultaneous streems ongoing with kids gaming and parents working, watching videos? I have seen that fiber will not be rolled out in these areas until 2023-2024. Keep up the good work!

Hey Gera, thanks for the comment! You can open a company straight away, from wherever you are, if you have an agent in Cyprus. It'll just take some days/weeks until the company is fully registered.
Great interview with very precise and targeted facts. Need you to do another interview with your friend on crypto and crypto taxation for non-dom EU citizens. Thanks!
When he says exemption of social security, I’m guessing he’s referring to the 8% Holliday contribution. I was a bit confused about that initially. It seems to me even with that exemption, the “social tax” will be about 20% on the salary part, and 2,65% on dividends.
Thank you! That's exactly the video i was looking for. But i have a question. What's the tax benefits for digital nomads who work for a non-Cyprus resident employer and follow the 60-day rule?
Hey Stavros, thank you very much for your comment. Happy to hear that you liked the video! To answer your question, if I would be in your situation, I would probably incorporate my own company and then just issue invoices to my employer. But it can get quite complex with another EU tax scheme for remote workers and that's why I would recommend you to talk to a tax professional for your individual situation. If you have further questions, let me know. :)
Hey Rico! Thanks for your response! The good thing is that i'm already a Cyprus citizen and done with all the bureaucracy of yellow slip, tax and insurance. That's the good part of being Greek in Cyprus. You can speak in Greek but for Cyprus you are not Cypriot citizen, so you can have all the non-domiciled benefits. For sure its a tricky situation, so talking with a tax professional is a wise advice. Thank's again for you video.
Great videos that you have made so far…can you next video be about school…if you want to it in German that would be great too! 😘 keep up the good work!
Is the 60 days rule really useful for some person? Suppose you are german or italian: in such states there is the concept of the center of vital and economic interest... if you stay only 2 months in Cyprus most likely you don't have such center in CYprus. If you don't have such center in Cyprus, most likely you have it, at least for the tax offices, your center in Germany of in Italy (depending if you are italian or german). Therefore you are considered a tax resident also on that second state, even if you didn't stay 6 months in it.
Great video, simple and very informative! Thank you very much! Do we have any updates regarding the crypto capital gains regulation in Cyprus or it is still a grey zone topic to touch?
Hey, thanks for your comment. FX can get quite complex, and the taxation depends on your individual situation. For example, whether you have a separate operating business or not, whether you day-trade, swing-trade, etc. And as we can't give practical tax advice here, it makes sense to talk to an expert to get accurate information. Also, thanks for the video idea! I hope this helps and wish you good luck! :)

@@martinenej3109 it is considered as an income and if you trade crypto privately your personal income taxe rate will apply. At least thats what all tax advisors in cyprus told me and I asked 4 of them. The best way to save taxes on crypto is to trade with a company.

Really a great video bro mou... Can you please tell that I am a student from 3 years as a non European... Can I open up a business here... Please tell me🙏
Great video - I'm a German citizen working in remote sales (100-150k yearly) for an American company (as an independent contractor receiving comissions per sale - I have no company on my own. Basically I'm a freelancer). Considering the rules (working 90days plus outside of Cyprus traveling, having a rented appartement there) - Would the non Dom status work in my case as well? (Paying 0% tax rate on my yearly income, only 60 days that have to be spend in Cyprus)?
Hey, thank you very much for your comment. Really happy that the video helped! :) The email is cyprus@ricardogorski.com - Have a good time and stay safe!
Hi. Great video. On the internet I found out some info that if you are a non dom and you spend more than 3 months outside of Cyprus providing paid services you are exempt from the income tax. You didn't mention about it at all so I assume it's BS?
Hey Kacper, thanks for your comment. The tax exemption you are referring to has nothing to do with Non-dom people, but if you are a cyprus tax resident and employed abroad, this would apply. Hope this makes sense! Best regards.
@@Rico wow, that's insane. So if someone is not business owner but instead working remotely for abroad employer he pays 0%. Moreover if he invest some of salary on the stocks / crypto he also pays 0% from gains. Looks like a very simple strategy for many digital nomads to live tax free.
If you work outside Cyprus for a company abroad you would pay your taxes abroad, not in Cyprus. You cannot be a digital nomad, spend 90 days outside Cyprus and pay 0% tax as some RUclips videos suggest. So yes, it’s BS. There’s a RUclipsr who’s charged me $500/hr for 2 hours convincing me this is the case. Then when the time came for him to help me get started he probably realized he was wrong and never replied to me again :) This videos contains all the information I collected by spending a few thousand dollars on consultations and traveling to Cyprus to meet up with lawyers. Wish it was available earlier :)
Hey Rico, is it possible to create a company that only does ethereum solo staking? to do that you need to manage a server always online... if you don't know that
Hey, thanks for a good video. Could you please answer, does it really matter for your taxiation if I had a company before or if I just want to start up in Cyprus? I mean, I have not had my own business yet, but thinking to open something for Cyprus market once/if I move there. Can I also get same benefits mentioned (non dom status etc)? Thank you in advance.
Hey Justina, thanks for your comment. What you did in the past doesn't really matter in regard to opening a new company. If you're a European person, you can move to Cyprus anytime, open a company and do your business. Hope this helps, have a great time! :)
Hello Rico, thanks for the video. It's very detailed and informative. May I know how can we contact the tax consultant? Would you provide his link or email here?
Curious about someone who derives income from trading (capital gains) and is otherwise unemployed. It should be that the only tax paid is the GESY contribution of 2.65% as cap gains are for stocks and futures are tax free. Is this correct?
About such specific questions, it's always best to get a professional talking to you because there are many variables in play. Hope you can understand and have a nice day :)
Thank you so much for the video! We are planing to move there and gathering all the information. I will contact Nikolas. May I ask which facebook group you recommend to meet likeminded people? Thanks/Danke!
Amazing video thanks! What about following all the rules, staying 60 days and even buying a property but having a transparent LLC in delaware for example (all customers out of cyprus and working/traveling 10 months a year) it seems like a lot of taxes / issues come when creating a company in cyprus
Hi Rico! Your videos are great and very informative. I have a question about 60 day rule ... should I stay in Cyprus for 60 days without leaving the country or can I be there in several trips for example 3weeks, then after one month I come for 2 weeks etc.. so I spend 60 days total per year? And how can I prove it I spent 60 days in Cyprus? Should I show my flight tickets?
Hey there! Thanks a lot. You need to stay 60 days in Cyprus, accumulated. So it does not have to be all at once, but in total with multiple trips is doable as well. You don't need to proactively prove it. Keep your flight tickets, if someone should ask you in the future, and you should be safe. You're welcome!
@@Rico thank you. But I also read that we can not stay in my home country more than 183 days and we should not be tax resident in my country? This is a problem for me because I am married and have two kids and they must go to school in Latvia. Can I establish a company in Cyprus as non-resident?

tax laws is Cyprus were made to favor non Cypriots for example a Cypriot refugge that was forced to live and work in another country after the 1974 Turkish invasion and wants to return and enjoy his retirement in Cyprus has no tax break vs anybody else not only that, but if you left a property in Cyprus from your parents or grandperents you end up loosing it to taxes another sad truth is that Cyprus is divided and anything can change at any moment and is the reason they want to attract non Cypriots

Hi Rico we just watched your this video, I know it was a couple of years ago but we (myself and wife) would like to talk with Nikolas about taxes when moving here. We only use Facebook and email how would we contact him?
Wonderful video, this is almost like a free consultation XD
problem is that he is the only person in cyprus who claims that crypto trading is tax free
@@lauchgainz7481 Then what is the crypto tax in Cyprus? If there is no capital gains there should not be any tax on it or is it not considered capital gains?
@@martinenej3109 it is considered as an income and if you trade crypto privately your personal income taxe rate will apply. At least thats what all tax advisors in cyprus told me and I asked 4 of them. The best way to save taxes on crypto is to trade with a company.
@@lauchgainz7481 Thanks for the detailed answer!
Nikolas has helped a lot of people setting up in Cyprus and I meet only happy clients. I used to hang out a bit in his co-working space and he is really a genuine guy.
Do you have his contact information?
Can you share his contact information? Thank you!
Really a great video bro mou... Can you please tell that I am a student from 3 years as a non European... Can I open up a business here... Please tell me🙏
Would it be possible to expand on the social security exemption please?
thank u . very good video
I am a dual citizen of USA and Cypriot citizenship… if I move to Cyprus and work remote for a US based company how does that work?
In such a case, it's best to contact us directly. Contact information is in the video description.
My question exactly
Are you any further? :)
what's the name of that co-working space? I did not catch the name
Hey Rick... Great video. Very useful and thorough. Could you please give the contact details of the person you interviewed? Thank you so much
Hey, thank you very much for your comment. Really happy that the video helped! :) The email is cyprus@ricardogorski.com - Have a good time and stay safe!
How does the "bail in" work?
Thanks for your comment! I'd recommend you to hire a consultant as this can get quite complex. Hope this helps, all the best! :)
Do British people (in Europe but outside EU) get pink or yellow slip?
@@kacperorlik6355 To get final confirmation, always ask a legal consultant. :)
Then when the time came for him to help me get started he probably realized he was wrong and never replied to me again :)
This videos contains all the information I collected by spending a few thousand dollars on consultations and traveling to Cyprus to meet up with lawyers.
Wish it was available earlier :)
Hey Rico, is it possible to create a company that only does ethereum solo staking? to do that you need to manage a server always online... if you don't know that
Great video thank you.
You're welcome, thank you as well. :)
Hi - Could you provide the contact for the consultant?
Thank you, great content. Can you maybe post Nicolas website or LinkedIn profile? I’d like to hire him.
Hello Tomas, thanks for your comment. Glad that you liked the video. The email is cyprus@ricardogorski.com. Have a good time! :)

Happy to hear that. All the best to you and have a nice day! :)
What is the tax on rental if i buy a land build on it and rent apartment on it?
Hey, thanks for a good video. Could you please answer, does it really matter for your taxiation if I had a company before or if I just want to start up in Cyprus? I mean, I have not had my own business yet, but thinking to open something for Cyprus market once/if I move there. Can I also get same benefits mentioned (non dom status etc)? Thank you in advance.
Hey Justina, thanks for your comment. What you did in the past doesn't really matter in regard to opening a new company. If you're a European person, you can move to Cyprus anytime, open a company and do your business. Hope this helps, have a great time! :)
@@Rico thank you so much for a quick answer. Have lived there in the past, dreaming of coming back ❤ Keep up a good content.

Hello Rico, thanks for the video. It's very detailed and informative. May I know how can we contact the tax consultant? Would you provide his link or email here?
Hey William, thanks for your message. Contact me via any social media, and I'll introduce you to Nikolas. Have a good time!
@@Rico thanks and I will contact you on Instagram
Curious about someone who derives income from trading (capital gains) and is otherwise unemployed. It should be that the only tax paid is the GESY contribution of 2.65% as cap gains are for stocks and futures are tax free. Is this correct?
About such specific questions, it's always best to get a professional talking to you because there are many variables in play. Hope you can understand and have a nice day :)
the government taxation on crypto, is supposed to be only in crypto, OR also on stocks and other financial instrument?
If you mean 40:51, then we were talking specifically about crypto.
Thank you so much for the video! We are planing to move there and gathering all the information. I will contact Nikolas. May I ask which facebook group you recommend to meet likeminded people? Thanks/Danke!
Thank you for the comment. I'm glad the video could help! The group is called Blunchers and we are located in Paphos. :)

Amazing video thanks!
What about following all the rules, staying 60 days and even buying a property but having a transparent LLC in delaware for example (all customers out of cyprus and working/traveling 10 months a year)
it seems like a lot of taxes / issues come when creating a company in cyprus
@@pictureperfectholiday That's true. If you spend more than 6 months in any other country, especially the EU, they usually see you as a tax resident on their side. Please google my full name Ricardo Gorski, and reach out to me via my contact form, so we can discuss your individual situation there. Thanks!
I was advised that Crypto-gains are taxed with the income-tax. Now I am confused...
It is indeed confusing and as Nikolas said, there's still no final regulation. It also depends on your individual situation to get the right answer for you.
@@Rico I only hope that it is not illegal not to pay taxes on crypto gains. uff
@@zeke2408 With a good consultant you should get correct advice and thus proceed legally, just make sure to ask many questions and understand what you're doing. Don't worry too much! :)
Crypto/FX is taxed as income, stocks/ETFs/options are not.

What about VAT?
VAT in Cyprus is 19% and applies to all invoices within the Country. If you are sending cross-border invoices, then the VAT is reversed to the buyer. We talk slightly about VAT at 9:30. Have a nice day! :)
What if I want to start out as a freelancer and not with a company? Can I reach Nikolaos if I would also like to work with him? (does this count as reaching out? xD)
Hey, thanks for your comment. As a Freelancer, you'd also need a VAT for the invoices you send and collect, so you can still reach out to Nikolas to find out if it makes more sense to open a company or register as self-employed. Good luck to you! :)

@@cyause hello thanks for your comments will subscribe for sure and im looking forward to invest in beautiful Cyprus . Best regards ,
tax laws is Cyprus were made to favor non Cypriots for example a Cypriot refugge that was forced to live and work in another country after the 1974 Turkish invasion and wants to return and enjoy his retirement in Cyprus has no tax break vs anybody else not only that, but if you left a property in Cyprus from your parents or grandperents you end up loosing it to taxes another sad truth is that Cyprus is divided and anything can change at any moment and is the reason they want to attract non Cypriots
