  • Join us as we dive deep into the latest release from JOOLA, the Gen 3 Pickleball Paddles! In this video, I'll give you a comprehensive breakdown of everything you need to know about these paddles, from their innovative design and materials to their performance on the court.
    What's Covered:
    • Propulsion Core: What really sets these paddles apart is their innovative core technology that allows the paddles to store and release more energy than most paddles on the market.
    • Charged Carbon Surface: JOOLA’s take on “raw carbon fiber” gives plenty of access to spin with this surface texture, and it only enhances the natural spin from the extended dwell time these paddles offer.
    • Take Some Getting Used To: These are more powerful than most paddles on the market, and the high dwell will take some time to adjust to.
    • Comparison with Previous Models: A look at how the Gen 3 series stacks up against earlier versions.

    Any questions about the new Joola Gen 3's or paddles in general? Leave them ⬇

      Yes, thank you for inviting questions. Scorpeus 16mm vs 14mm. If one add .2 oz (6 grams) on both sides of the 14mm so that it weighs the same as the 16mm, how would the two compare? At that point, the twist stability should be similar. Questions: Which will have more control? More power? More touch? More spin? Which is better selling - presuming that the buying public will reflect which paddles may fit most. Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts.

    I call this new "tech" artificial delemination.

    Was the circumference of the 14 and 16mm scorpeus wider than the advertised 4.25? I read somewhere they were closer to a little under 4.5

    Interesting that Pickleball Central would mention the Perseus 16 mm because after this initial offering they have pulled it from availability.

      The Gen 3 paddles are selling incredibly quickly, but we will have more of that model in stock very soon!

    I've heard the 16mm Perseus is less poppy than the 16mm Scorpeus. Is that true? If so, how does the 16mm Hyperion compare?

    • @PickleballCentral
      @PickleballCentral  2 месяца назад +1

      The 16mm Scorpeus feels like a big drum, and while it's super stable, the pop it generates is no joke. The Hyperion we also felt had more power and plow than the Perseus we playtested, but I believe it's because the slightly lower sweet spot allows the propulsion core to be more effective in "trampolining" the ball. Pop and feel was similar between the 16mm Hyperion and Scorpeus, and at that point, I would just pick the shape you are most comfortable with. - Joseph

    I like to hit with power and don't know if I should get the new magnus or the perseus and should I go with the 14 or 16

      Great question, if you use two hands, I'd say go with the Perseus, but if not and you want a ton of power, the Magnus is a ton of fun and worth a shot. 16 is more stable and 14 is more nimble, but both will give you plenty of power no matter what paddle you are coming from. - Joseph

    Curious are any of the paddles control paddles or just power ?

    • @PickleballCentral
      @PickleballCentral  2 месяца назад +1

      Great question. While these paddles are all (very) powerful, the nature of the propulsion core makes harder swings harder without affecting soft shots as much. Some defensive players are loving the 16mm models as they are still able to benefit from a large sweet spot and stable feel while having the added punch when needed. If you really want a "control" paddle, the Hyperion CFS 16mm is still one of the best of all time IMO. - Joseph

      @@PickleballCentral I totally agree about the OG Hyperion 16mm. I Played with that paddle for just over a year and a half when I decided to upgrade to the Hyperion C2 16mm a little over a month ago. I absolutely love playing with the C2 but couldn't resist picking up the Hyperion 3 16mm just the other day. I'm not sure if the Gen 3 will mesh with my game but even though it didn't get a lot of fanfare at launch, I highly recommend players don't overlook the C2.

    I bought the Perseus and it was like an explosion off the face! It was just too much for my game. I compare it to playing tennis with a racket strung at 40 pounds like McEnroe would play with in the old days. Going back to my Engage forever I think. I have tried them all and the Engage Pursuit Pro is perfect for my game. You have to have amazing control to utilize a power paddle like these!

      Out of curiosity, did you try the 14 or 16mm model? It's wild to think of the Pursuit Pro as a more control oriented paddle to anything, but it certainly fits the bill in comparison to these gen 3 options. They DEFINITELY takes some getting used to. - Joseph

      I just bought the Scorpeus 16no Collin John's model. Great paddle. Drops and placement no problem.
      More powerful serves. Love it.

      I have the Perseus 3 16mm coming from Hyperion original then 60 Ruby. Space the Persius is super powerful and requires a lot of thought before swinging. I think it’s for advance players and it takes a little bit to get used to, but I think it can be controlled. It’s got amazing spin great power. It just takes a lot. You have to invest really good with it but I think it’s gonna be worth it. I’m gonna do it.
