The Scorpion is the most underrated ball on the market IMO. I finished at 241 in my league last year throwing the Scorpion exclusively. I didnt even switch to a different ball once the lanes transitioned. The Scorpion is a money ball for sure on house patterns.

Love my Hammer Raw Hybrid; but, the more I see the Scorpion, I just want to add it to my bag. I think they would pair nicely together. Plus, the shelf appeal and how it looks down the lane is beautiful!
My benchmark ball in league is the GB4. I polished it to get some length and it is still really controllable. Hits like a truck. I ordered a Scorpion last week and I’m even more excited about the Scorpion after your usual great and honest reviews.😁😁😁

My best looks on house shots over the last year or so have been: Hy-Road Pearl, Trend, Zen, Hyper Cell Skid, and Axiom Pearl - all of them with little to no surface. The centers I bowl at put very little volume out for their house shots, so the main key for success is getting the ball to not see the fronts too quick.
I bowl at 2 very different houses. The drier house gets the Radical Results +. The wetter gets the Brunswick Vintage Phantom. When both houses get squirrely I often go to a Prism Hybrid.
House play I start with the Hi-Road and the first ball normally after that is my Fast Pitch. And if the lanes really breakdown then it’s off to old school Hammer Blue 👍
Favorite House Shot Ball: My 1989 Brunswick Grizz Urethane ball with CG in Palm at 1000 grit played up 7 board. Early and continuous and hits like a tank. Can be used for all spares too.
So our new house pattern is wide open walled up fine China, so I think I could score with anything I wanted, but for now it’s a two ball combo of the zing hybrid and storm promotion. Both the balls blend the outside misses for me, and hook in the cliff. If either of them go away, I have a lightly surfaced verge pearl to make it through the last couple of frames without having to move a ton.
My favorite ball on house is usually the purple tank or the fatal venom. Lots of friction to use the high end balls for 2 handed. Playing straighter is easier and more relaxing than trying to throw across 15 boards
Clean, shiny short pin balls that aren't too aggressive for my THS. I've got a short pin timeless that I still use all the time and it's my favorite. If there's more oil though or if the pattern is fresh (it's never fresh), I'll use my lane shined Crux Prime
I bought myself a scorpion and just had it drilled today. I watched this video and now I’m all excited to throw it on league cause it’s gonna fit nicely with my Motiv Supra, Sportstec Power Plus/Purple Hammer (depending on the condition of the lane), and my Track Tactix
I always end up using my pink raw pearl and my teal rhino pro from the 90s. they just have some super nice reaction, not overly strong and not too weak that i need to throw something different
My favorite ball on a house pattern right now is my Motiv Venom Shock. I try other equipment, especially early in the set. But it almost always comes out of my bag.
I have the raw and the widow. It’s kinda funny cause the raw and hammer both have a very aggressive hook but the raw breaks a bit earlier and often ends up hitting Brooklyn. I often bowl from 5 board (with my feet) as a lefty and hooking far outside probably board 35 or so at 45 out. It’s funny seeing you bowl left as a lefty with it I think changing the cover completely changed it from stock.
Been lately with the 900 Global Honey Badger Revival, I can start on the right then once the lane breaks down move as far left as I need to. Been very nice only having to bring two balls to league and not over thinking on what to bring.

For house shots it has to be my Redemption Hybrid, gets through the fronts easily but is still controllable off friction, gives me a ton of miss room too

I only have one bowling ball right now and it’s a phaze 2, so that’s my house shot ball for now. I’m hoping to get a urethane and a high hooking ball to have a range for when I start competition
As of rn my favorite to use on a house pattern is actually my black widow legend. My center also has carbon as their shot and the first game drilled I shot my high at 252
main ball is 1980's blue hammer...16 lb. driller straight up.. no finger weight no thumb.. no side.. drilled as dead as possible.. can play anywhere from 7 to 2 and get good hook and carry.. for dry lanes have a 30 yr old hard rubber ACE and have good shot up 5
My favorite ball for a house shot is my C300 Freeze (Organge/Green). Yeah, it's an older ball, but it works very well on house shots. I also love using my C300 Resurgence on a house shot as well.
I usually go with a Quantum Bias Pearl with a pin down layout for transition. Although, with your awesome review of the Scorpion, I think I will be getting one soon. And, just in time for the start of my fall league!

Sanded Intense fire or physix. But unfortunately no more physix... getting alert and just got zen drilled. Rubicon rolls pretty damn great at local house.
It depends on the house shot … Obsession Tour, Bonus Pearl, Black Widow 2.0, Fugitive Pearl, Purple Hammer, and an old DynoThane Vendetta Blood Red have all worked extremely well for me, but it depends on the house and its lanes and that house’s version of a THS.

Since you threw solids on the first two I'm curious why you didn't throw the Raw Hammer Solid instead of the hybrid? As for my house shot ball I usually use a Knock Out. I also have a Hero Solid, a Raw Hammer Solid, a Storm Drive and a Vapor Zone Hybrid available. I start with the Knock Out and work with the lanes from there. I hate to ball change, but when its necessary its necessary. I started with the Knock Out Friday night, and switched up to the Raw Hammer when the lanes broke down.

Favorite ball on THS of all time for me is the Columbia 300 Cuda C. That cranberry ball was a BEAST!

Love my Crux Prime. Ball up to Prism Warp, and down to Melee Jab S.E.

I still used a cuda-C. Yes it is an older ball but if I need clear hits and forgiveness this ball has it all.

The original web pearl with a 2” pin was great on the house shot.
Our Center has heavier oil for league so I typically start with my Parallax then if that’s too much ball I’ll go to my HyRoad Pearl

Nice review. For the last ball you mentioned you sanded it to 2000, but it looked quite shiny, and behaved as a shiny ball as well.
Yep it's 2000 on the spinner so maybe closer to 2500, the lighting we have also really brightens it up

It depends on the house shot … Obsession Tour, Bonus Pearl, Black Widow 2.0, Fugitive Pearl, Purple Hammer, and an old DynoThane Vendetta Blood Red have all worked extremely well for me, but it depends on the house and its lanes and that house’s version of a THS.
