Highway cruising is should stay around 200 or under, maybe 205 with 100* outside air temps. I’d make sure the thermostat is not sticking, I bet you it is. Easy to change (get a new OEM one) other then having to bleed the cooling system. Also, depending on your area you can run less coolant and more water. From the factory it comes with a 60/40 mix of water (60%) to coolant (40%)
Nice driving. 2.22 is really getting it. What group do you go,with? Chin? If so are u in blue or red? Really like how deep you dive into 17 and how much speed you carry before starting to turn in. Have you ever tried slicks or scrubbed slicks? Would probably knock your time down even more. I’ve ran Ps cup 2 run flats and slicks are definitely stickier.
This was with Chin, I would say they’re my favorite group. With them I run in the blue group because in the red there’s a lot of race cars and it kind of freaks me out when an LMP wants to pass you on Bishops or turn 1 😅 On the C7 I have not tried slicks or scrubs , maybe one day. Kinda want to get in to the teens on a DOT tire one day just for shits and giggles

Nice driving! I just sold my Z51 and am in the market now for an M7 C7 Z06. Any advice you could give on which years and options to look out for in my search? Primarily will be a daily/street car so want good road manners but will be doing some auto X and trackdays as well. I also am fine working with doing some work on the car, if that affects your advice (such as swapping the radiator like you did). TIA
If you can swing a 19 then that would be your best bet. It has all the cooling updates plus also some hand down upgrades from the c7 ZR1 (low side fuel system, some bushings, better cluster display and others) and also the latest MRC software update. If that’s not a possibility then at least get a 17 or 18. Again cooling updates and you can get the dealer to update the MRC software for a fee.
Thanks for posting, looks fast. I have a 19 GS that I track a few days per year. Are those Girodisk rotors the stock sizes? How are they compared to OEM? Any info would be appreciated, thanks.
Yes they’re the Girodisk The rears are full replacement (hat and rotor) and lighter then stock The fronts are replament disks only, you reuse the oem hat with new hardware. Although giro does make full replacement as for the front as well but since it’s just another aluminum hat I didn’t think it was worth it. Both front and rear are oem sized. Compared to oem, so far they seem to holding up a little bit better then the oem rotors with less heat checks even on the same pads but I can’t comment yet on longevity
@@Justa2L thank you for the answer. Yesterday was on the race track, was not very hot, but after few laps oil temperature was to hot, do you know this issue on Z06 C7?
@@PvlM5 how hot do you consider too hot? My oil temp will settle around 265-275 and coolant at 225-232 if I drive the whole session. Yes that seems hot but limp mode doesn’t kick in until 302 oil and like 260 coolant. These cars have a very high coolant pressure system and todays oils won’t break down as easily with the heat. I’ve sent oils for analysis after several track days with those kinds of temperatures and the oil was still good to keep using so now I follow the oil life percentage display and I change it once it gets to 30% or lower.
