They avoided using real names so nobody would be implicated.
She stepped forward OFFERING HER IDENTITY TO THE PUBLIC and doxed herself...
Now she wants Netflix to pay? WTF
She isn't all there.
The whole problem was that NETFLIX put “THIS IS A TRUE STORY” right at the start of the series. If they put “BASED ON A TRUE STORY”, then NETFLIX would be fully protected by law to take liberties with the story. Now every single thing in the story will need to be proven that it truly happened. If anything is wrong, the complainant will earn a lot of money. I foresee an agreement between both parties between 500k to 1mil.
Excellent point. That's why the slightly weasel phrase 'based on a true story ' was created
Not everything need to be proven actaully. What Mr H reads out loud on 3:24 is enough because thats the most defamatory IMO even tho Mr H doesn't seem to agree with that and says that there is something that is significantly more damaging than that. I would love to hear what!
she just wants the money that’s the reason why she’s Suing and the attention
She just wants the food. Throw donuts at her and the lawsuit goes away.
While she’s clearly a little delusional, if Netflix lied and this wasn’t 100% a true story like they have stated on record then she has every right to Sue them.

She outed herself
Gadd and Netflix hasn't said she's the real Martha.
This woman has outed herself, therefore she can't take them to court over this!
She was never actually named in the show. So she just self reported.
They quoted word for word tweets she'd sent so it didn't take long for the viewers to find her
She claims internet sleuths found her and outed her. Which, to be fair, they probably did. Too bad for her. 😂
@@cupcakesandcameos If only she didn't stalk a man for years, she wouldn't be in the tv show in the first place...
@@laser__unicorn I know, right?! You know what they say about paybacks. They are a B(can't say that here)! 😂
I haven't seen the show but from what I understand, Netflix didn't state her actual name. Her case has no standing. Viewers figured out who she is. Her stating she's the stalker makes no difference in the case. In the US she'd have no case. She just wants money.
The people who cheer about this and cheer her than are the same that complains that no one cares about male abuse victims and there isnt rappresentation about them
Well, SNP is not known for caring about men
You’d think, but it’s more likely also, if not mostly the people who would *prefer* that nobody caring about male abuse victims and there not being more representation about them.
A million pounds..that's heavy 😂
😆😏
It's a tender subject.
If it ends up in court, it'll be like a hilarious new series. I can only imagine 'Martha' in the witness box and the massive regret of the KC who boldly rushed where angels fear to tread
Now this id watch . You need to patent this idea and sell it to Hulu or sth 🤣
It's a shame that MPs lying aren't held in contempt (legally). Mind you, if that were the case they'd never say anything. Which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. The question is; did Netflix out this Scottish woman? Have they confirmed that it is indeed her in the show? I genuinely don't know. She's probably going to kick up as much fuss as possible so that they pay her off to shut her up. They ought to just drive her legal bills up whilst denying it's her. A letter from an SNP MP is just spam mail. They have no power and not much influence.
Not sure that the UK govt can do anything. They tried to tell Rumble to de-monetise Russel Brand. Rumble told the UK govt to f*ck off, and they obligingly departed in short jerky motions. Wish I could tell them the same with the same results.
Brother H keeping it real.
she voluntarily came forward on the interview. thats how alot of people found out it was her
The only concern I have is parliament taking legal action in order to protect the rich BBC Groomers and paedophiles. Fiona outed herself also I picked up the undercurrent of transphobia and homophobia in interview with Pierce. That interview convinced me she did those things to Gadd.
Note: you can lie to Senate/House of Representatives if there's a (D) next to your name. Example: Michael Cohen
100%.
They come up with some weird ideas on Netflix, don't they?
So they’re using technicalities for both personal gain and the essentially shut down the stories. Didn’t take the whole situation with amber heard seriously in the UK, but this needs to be tackled right away apparently. Typical.
It’s good that an MP has got involved-this is so serious -someone could die or be injured for the sake of entertainment-this isn’t America -yet ..
Logically the woman MAY be able to claim due to being indentified easily, but at the same time she has publicly done this herself, prior to starting any litigation. As for the show it does state that some of it was dramatised,so highly unlikely that there is a case to answer there. It doesn't tend to matter where the dramatisation disclaimer is,only that it is there.
Streisand effect for dummies XD
Great analysis & I agree government should keep this.
she said she has a "photographic memory and she remembers everything" then in the next sentence she says "i dont know"
The SNP make Labour seem sensible
I might be wrong but wasn’t she harrased by tv sleuths who pieced together who she was? There even was an article from IGN or some ofher outlet talking about how people put it together and started harrasaing her (or someone else who they tought was the real Martha) and also the guy that directed Mindhorn who is supposed to be “the friend” that abused him?
IDK why anyone would want to claim any responsibility or likeness to THAT character on the show. Apparently, Gadd had a whole comedy special and life's story that he performed for a while and now you present a court case? That's a pretty weird way to go for a come up...
They didn't name her.
Nice to have friends in high places
Hi I think ex labour MP claims she was streaked by Fiona Harvey
She nearly did a meet and greet 😂 and she after piers for a cool million now 🤣
Yeah, she doesn’t sound crazy. 😬🤪😹
Her meme made me money 😂😂😂
Shocking, the real person base of a parody of a harasser, harasses.. Movie was not advertised as the true story of. Professional Victims gonna victim.
So true
Especially ours ? We don’t live in Iraq or Sudan, a little balance please
Great show bet Russel t davis is sweating
It literally says at the end of each episode that some events have been dramatised. Gadd has been upfront in interviews prior to Martha going on Piers Morgan that there was no conviction, he said he felt sorry for her so didn’t want her prosecuted. Bet he wished he’d pursued it now.
Why mention that to the committee then seems like a bit of a self own.
@@hen5555 that’s a good point and I have no idea why the Netflix exec said that. I haven’t seen the parliamentary committee transcript but if he indeed said what he is quoted as saying, that could be actionable. Exciting times.
Never heard about it. What is the show about?
Let's be real though, the only way anyone could know it was her, is if she conducts herself such as she was portrayed. It's not like over weight white women are a rarity in the world and it was easy to identify her. Granted I won't shed any tears if Netflix gets their woke asses sued off either.
Woah woah woah...believe all women ya?
Never heard of this show or these people.
Need to make sure when you slander someone that they are dead. Eastwood got away with it with the woman reporter (no evidence she ever used sex to gain information from the authorities).
