My sweet husband was a minister and song leader with perfect pitch. This was a favorite -- I can just see him standing up front leading this; brings tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing all these beautiful songs/voices!!
I overheard a congregation of the church of Christ sing this hymn and since then it's been ringing in my head.. thank God I finally got it
We always sing Accapella, I wish we would learn this song, I love it.....
Some of the congregations do the four part harmonies really well, thrilling to hear. And some congregations just drag it along.

My childhood music teacher, C.C. Stafford, wrote the music for this hymn. I didn't know that until many years later when I saw his name on it in a hymnal.

we always sing Accapella too....doesn't sound like this at all we don't have harmony at all just plain some bass & ordinary, this is the way the singing at Mineral Springs, NC c o Christ sounded back when I lived there & still does.. I love singing there in worship.
@@gailwilson990 We all need to go back to the Singing Schools. The congregation was Taught HOW to sing parts. It's not hard to do, but it's oh-so-much FUN to do!
Zions Summit is a beautiful song, isn’t it? I lead that as often as I can. Unfortunately, we have a small congregation who mostly sing melody, so I don’t get a chance to lead The New Song very often, because you really need all the parts, like in The Walls Came Tumbling Down. Every year when the local FC Bible Camp meets though, I get my chance 😁

I have always found this song ... IN THE HYMNALS!!! ... to be VERY intimidating AND confusing, but to have the sheet music up like this?? A piece of cake. So easy to learn and sing!!!

It's like that in all the old hymn books. The oval-shaped note is Do (Do, Re, Me etc.) It's how I learned to read music as a kid :)

It makes me sad that we're on a strict look down and can't be with friends like this. We have to wear a mask and stay 6 feet apart. I don't even know any sick people from our church. But with God's help will get through this 🙏

I know we wont, but I know the congregation I went to in Mineral Springs, NC - 30 something members then, certainly had the harmony that these do, I just loved to sing at worship there!!! Our singing at the Olive Branch, C o Christ is not at all like this, but "my other" congregation in NC does!!!!
First time hearing this song. I love it because it is so full; it has enough of everything. It is has such a hopeful melody and lyric. It definitely does sound like a new song.
I loved to lead this song many years ago at Garden Ridge Church in Lewisville, TX. Great congregational singing. They uplifted me and I believe is God is uplifted. Praise hm.

Love a congregation with Harmony! We sing Accapella, but is not like this at all!!! What wonderful harmony! I wish I could snap my fingers & go to my "other congregation" in Mineral Springs, NC., for worship services apx 60 members, & apx 30 on Sunday & Wed. night their singing is just like this, & I sure do miss not being there......

The Churches of Christ SALUTE YOU but . here now you know why .. even though we don't use instruments because it is not mentioned to do so in the new testament but only says to RAISE HOLY VOICES unto the LORD and now you know why!! from the sound ..pure no man made instruments clanging and drowning out what the angels must sound even more beautifully !!. this is what HEAVEN is going to be!!!!. @@oceanrealitychannel According to a comment earlier this video was made at a congregation of the church of Christ in Lebanon, TN, USA (probably Maple Hill or College Hills). Probably most are members of that congregation, but I'm sure it was NOT limited to members. As you know, christians always love to invite others to share in their blessings.
