In Cape Verde, three dogs - essentially the real-life paw patrol - are protecting sea turtles from poachers. Sea turtles are still being hunted for their meat. So, when they nest on the beaches of Cape Verde, their lives are in danger. This can have a devastating impact on the turtle population.
That’s why in our eleventh mission, we’re supporting the dog trio and their human counterparts in Cape Verde to protect sea turtles and make sure their population is thriving.

I can only hope for two things, one, that the dogs do not get too overweight from all of the treats they get, and that humans will allow these gals have puppies so that these dogs can continue their noble lineage protecting sea turtles and maybe other life forms from predators far into the future!

Back in college (early 1990s) I did a research paper on sea turtles. At that time, conservationists were stopping turtles from getting trapped in fishing nets. A new net design allowed the turtles to escape. I've always loved turtles. I'm so grateful that this group and 3 awesome dogs are stopping poachers. Treats for the dogs❣

Wonderful! I went on a turtle protecting mission with a group in Costa Rica where the man who's property on which we were camping was actually caught poaching the eggs while we were there!
Those three dogs is a blessing to the conservationists who help these logger head turtles. Please feed them and continue to help with there veterinary care.❤

Wow. This is so ingenious. At first I was wondering if the dogs were actually catching/releasing the baby turtles, but now that I understand they hunt poachers, that makes so much more sense. We need more projects like this, across the world where turtles and other critters are in danger from poaching!
