‘Swifties For Kamala’ Raises Over $120K In Kickoff Call Where Carole King SINGS

- The Swifties are in their grassroots campaign era! Though Taylor Swift still hasn’t endorsed any candidate for President in 2024, on Tuesday, Aug. 27, the ‘Swifties For Kamala’ coalition officially launched their kickoff call, which included special guests such as Carole King, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, and raised over $120,000 in donations. Taylor has no affiliation with the group and was not involved in the virtual rally, which had over 34,000 participants, but that didn’t stop the coalition from having some fun with Swift-related puns and singing along to her tunes. In fact, Carole King performed a short rendition of the global pop star’s hit song, “Shake It Off!”

That was just sad, and the especially sad part was that Carole King actually WAS great, once. Heck, she could possibly still be great again; she's one of the few who, with the help of Rick Rubin or similar, could have a Johnny Cash-ish resurgence at that age... provided that she sticks with the proper material. I'd even go so far as to speculate that Carole King could perform good remakes of a Taylor Swift song or two, provided that she sticks with the slower, emotional ballads.

I'm in my 50s. Fleetwood Mac/ Stevie Nicks fan and I like Taylor Swift.
I got curious a while back and went down the most fun going back to her start. I am amazed by her now. It was the most fun rabbit hole I ever fell in. Her music as moved so much, it's impossible to not find a song that will get to you. He acceptance speech at NYU was great. I watched her 1989 tour, it was the first of her shows I watched on RUclips and was in awe of her contact with her crowd. And that was when she was much younger. The Reputation tour,....That one blew my mind. WOW! And then I found out that she had invited the press and gave them front row seats to the show. Go see the intro of that show The song is "Ready for it" you will love her spunk, heck you will love her.
