    Context is important. You sometimes need that read line for full effect of saturation plug ins

      It's good, and you get good results because you build your dynamics by ear, the meters are just there to help.

    But bro sometimes all our elements in the mix we have to do set their level may be above or below to -18db. Then that case what we should to do. May be all elements are not sounding good on the same dbfs level.

    • @westsidelevelmixing
      @westsidelevelmixing  3 месяца назад

      ofcourse each element must have a diffrent level and its own place in the mix, gain staging is for starting your mix, you start with all elemtns at unity gain, and then begin to balance your mix

    Mixing on -18db in the box is a big misunderstanding!

    • @westsidelevelmixing
      @westsidelevelmixing  5 месяцев назад

      not if you want to avoid clipping your plugins, and getting unwanted distortion

      But - 18db is too low some people say gain staging - 12 Am confused bro

    • @westsidelevelmixing
      @westsidelevelmixing  4 месяца назад

      @@nevilafrika8707 i choose 18db because it gives me a lot of headroom before clipping, this allows me to eq, compress, and distort without unwated clipping, my question is why cant you start your mix with everything at 18sb unity, and what are your confused about?
