after watching I can say that the dragon egg shouldn't be made for armor or tools bc i personally don't want another armor and tool set. instead, I think it would be cool to grant you an effect buff when its in your hotbar or inventory, maybe like resistance or, like your idea, you can look at endermen without being attacked.
Also, I think the next generation achievement could be added upon. Maybe if you have all the eggs in your hotbar. ex. turtle eggs, chicken eggs, and the dragon egg you get the achievement.

Fun fact: if you interact with a dragon egg, it will teleport and leave a trail of its particles, but this trail does not correspond to the direction of teleportation. In fact, it used to correspond to it, and such a bug was present only in multiplayer. But starting from 1.3, there was a separation of client-server logic, and such a bug got into the single player. And you know what? It is still not fixed, although many bugs that started after 1.3 have been gradually fixed.
Recently the damage tilt even got fixed

Wasn't it a Merge? As far as I know, multiplayer and singleplayer logic was different, until one update (that I don't remember but I assume it's 1.3) that made singleplayer just an internally-hosted server, basing singleplayer logic on multiplayer
@@silviocupica2521 Depends on how you look at it, but they basically separated the client and server at all times instead of only doing so in multiplayer. AFAIK no logic actually changed, but it did introduce 'some' bugs because it causes communication between client and server to be more difficult even in singleplayer.
It should be noted that Mojang has stated that Netherite is planned to be the highest tier of armor for protection- however they may add armor that serves another purpose (for example perhaps armor that makes your immune to negative potion effects but only has as much protection as iron)

That armor is pretty much useless imo. Apart from witches and jungle temples there are no reasons for it.

The issue with a lot of this stuff is that it increasing the speed of flight, Which is something they nerfed to allow chunks to be loaded before you fly into unloaded ones
in my opinion the dragon egg has always been a great decorational item even with not many uses
rare treasures and trophy items are underrated, like having a drained ocean monument in your world just because you could, or killing a warden specifically to get the catalyst from it. its not just about having strong items or a stylish base, its about being able to show your power and influence.
Yay i found it pretty useless plus i think it would be more fun for smps to fight for actually useful item instead of fighting for rare useless item

My only problem is that this sounds kind of op if only the person who gets the egg can collect this special loot. Maybe make it so you have to place a crystal on every tower and then the dragon drops a new egg.

Its actually insane how fun and cool minecraft would be if they would JUST listen to some of the communities ideas! This dragon/ dragon egg idea is amazing!
that's the thing the community isn't 1 particular group of people ,its a wide variety of players, the minecraft playerbase is split across hundreds of ideas and gameplay preferences. the extereme modded players to the nothing but absolute vanilla players, the competitive ones, etc etc. It is simply not feasible for a corporate to do something while listening to 1 particular part of the community and be unfair to everyone else. ofcourse people will always have different opinions but this is an unecessary risk they'd prefer not to take
just mod your game, or better yet play hypixel skyblock, most of these ideas have been lifted from it 😂
Most of the community's ideas are bad and are about making minecraft more like an MMO rather than adding anything worthwhile. It's actually a very good thing the developers don't listen to this kind of community feedback.

A few notes:
- Respawning the dragon as a stronger version via the egg seems odd. The egg is comparatively tiny, I don't think the dragon to hatch from it should be in fighting condition, let alone bigger than it's mother, right from the start. As such, I think the ability to have a pet dragon makes more sense. But I wouldn't want to force the dragon into submission through battle - killing it's mother and stealing the egg is enough abuse for the poor thing. Maybe we can have a unique taming-process, similar to how Hiccup and Toothless bonded in How to train your dragon.
- I have to disagree hard on the way you envision dragon gear. I believe all post-diamond gear should be sidegrades that are specialized for a certain area. Dragon gear could be unbreakable in terms of durability and make Endermen passive (or fear you), but it should not be the ultimate replacement for Netherite. That's just pure power creep. Then you could also have something like an ocean armor set crafted from diamond gear and some material only obtained from ocean monuments, maybe allowing the player to act like a living conduit and/or making guardians into your allies. That idea might also leave room for a gear set that is pretty weak on it's own, but allows for enchantments that are normally mutually exclusive to coexist with each other. Perhaps Diamond could even fill this role as a non-specialized option. Although it also raises the bar for the sidegrades. If god armor is a thing, who would need Netherite to give full fire and lava immunity, for example?
- Even then, this only exacerbates the fact that there is very little in the game that poses a real threat to an endgame-player who isn't completely braindead and/or uses totems as a crutch.

I think this "Dragon Armour", if added, should be a sidegrade to Netherite that would give the wearer Knockback Reflection. Any knockback taken would be inflicted on the attacker as well, but doubled.

I think it should be like thorns. Instead of the knockback being dependent on the amount of knockback the attacker is out putting, it should be a set amount that slightly pushes the attacker back. So like maybe half the knockback you would take from a regular hit. Or instead it can percentage based, but instead of doubling, it’s 25 percent, and so it’s not broken as heck, bow users should not be affected. Or you there can be a status effect applied to those who attack you, like “Windblown,” or “Pushback,” but what it could do is when applied, it will make you take more knockback from all sources. This will only be applied to the person who hits you though, and only when they hit you. (For certain reasons, this status effect should not be included in the “How did we get here?” achievement.
Neat ideas, though I feel like they seem to be more about why there should be an End update than more uses for the egg...
When I was younger, I thought the egg could actually respawn the dragon due to the youtube content. But the sad reality is it does nothing
..it does. it might be exclusive to bedrock, but i’ve respawned the dragon many times
you can respawn it with 4 end crystals though

If such thing exists it should be able to be obtained AFTER the elytra not before it imo
No offence, but I don't think that's a good idea, I hear idea like this suggested a lot, and it kind of defeats the purposes of the more "armour" Mojang's been applying recently. It's good to have to make a choice(albeit very temporary) between armours, the whole 1 set for everything is kinda boring, and its nice to have elytras, gold armour and leather boots as a way to add depth.
They already said before this won't happen because they want people to have to choose between one or the other.
@🍓iMrPoptart But to be fair, water cauldrons don’t break your fall, they don’t damage endermen, don’t cause you to drown, all aquatic animals would die of dehydration in it, even though it contains a bucket of water it doesn’t give you infinite water bottles, and the list could go on. There are a quite the number pf inconsistencies in this game, but I think elytra’s combined with chest plates is just too much. However, I do have a few ideas for it. If we were to combine them, it should make it a bit harder to fly, like the better the chest-plate, the faster you’d fall, or something like that. Also, the elytra should count towards the chest plate durability, and since we can assume that it’s a delicate material, the piece of armour will break much faster. Something like that might work? But I still don’t think it will ever become an official update to the game.
@@Burning_Marshmallow Actually, it could be able to work only on the best armor (netherite or the dragon armor he proposed in the video). Then if you were to combine your elytra with your chestplate, you would fly slower and break the elytra faster (kind of as you said. But you’re right, elytra chesplate is kinda overpowered and it would break PvP (imagine just be able to get out of a 2v2 because you are losing, but you still have the resistance of your armor. If it was the case, it would be an end-game possibility and you would need to use something else than an anvil for that. But anyway, you are not wrong and your ideas are great.
The thing i love about this community is that so many people have so many great ideas for the game, and yet mojang refuses to add these ideas into the game

Its depends, guns are a great addition according to some, while others would not like it, others would want a modernization update with cars and advance tech while others would want a more fantasy theme with more dimensions and magical elements, which its the main problem with adding things the community wants, some ideas can fit easily into the game while others would not and this depends on the opinions of too many people for all to be satisfied, which is why mods are great, as its optional, if you want guns get a mod, but if you dont its not a forced feature.
I started learning how to make mods because of that. Mojang has a tunnel vision of what their game is supposed to be.
I mean, fair enough, it's their game, but it has grown stale over the years

Maybe the dragon egg could be used to upgrade any tool or armour piece once but it would be used up. It could upgrade in the sense that netherite does to tools and armour by increasing its durability or attack damage or it could give a permanent affect but it can only upgrade one item

It would have to have some downsides so as not to be super OP but also still be useful. I like the idea of flying transport using a mob. Maybe it can't attack, because it's attacks are fueled by rage and your dragon is full of love from being raised by you? Idk
6:07 one thing that I did want 2 mention is that if this feature was added, it would cause a load of problems with multiplayer servers due to you being able to see any mobs, including villagers, pets, skeleton horses, zombie horses (if one was spawned illegally), and other valuable mobs that could be easily found. and even if they made it to where it wouldnt make those mobs glow, it would allow a huge advantage over finding certain mobs and would basically be esp hacks by that point.

I think that looking at a mob for 1 or 2 seconds could mark it temporarily, this would solve most of this problems and make it very useful in PvP with load os scenery to hide. But overall this would suck in competitive multiplayer, because the only guy to ever get the dragon set would be the one who got the egg in first place

@🍓iMrPoptart idk if your aware if this mechanic but protection enchantments have a cap of 80% damage reduction. Full prot 4 gives 64% against everything and 3 prot pieces and one with special protection is 48% against everything and 80% against whatever your special protects from. So no it's not going to make you immune to anything, the only thing you get out of it is still having 64% damage reduction against everything and 80% against fire,lava,projectiles and evplosions
@🍓iMrPoptart try it yourself. Get prot 100 armor with commands, it's barely any better than normal prot IV

You could also add different types, having each type give maybe a potion effect when your wear a full set, say speed or fire res, this would provide an incentive to get multiple sets for different situations

That would be a lot of armor items though, people would have to carry it in like ender chest shulker boxes. It would be cool if armor sets could be one item, like the iron man suitcase lol

I would love to see the Dragon Egg being used to hatch a very small baby Ender Dragon, which you can raise like other mobs, but instead of growing by tick counts, you have to actually feed the baby with special Dragon Food by combining poisonous potatoes, with an ender pearl, 6 gold nuggets, and a diamond. You would need 10 Dragon Foods to grow the Dragon to an adult about the size of a horse that can now be used as a flying mount with a equipable double chest.
To hatch it, you would need to place the egg on a iron trap door above a soul campfire surrounded by Netherite Blocks that would serve as a special incubator.

I do think that if with taming a weakeen enderdragon or hatch your own with the ender egg, besides the easy life on flying it could also use in combat with their breath or similar attacks the dragon has but more aggressive with the players control (and maybe some one would legit do boom and zoom attacks)
What me and my friends have done on out modded server fulfills some of this by using these mods (dragon loot, savage ender dragon, and better and adds end veil to stop ender men getting angry) although I added custom loot table to drop the egg every time (as well as the orb of origin for origins) because it is used in multi crafting recipes for the other mods
Where/how did you get that footage of the Dark-Souls-ish giant Ender Dragon put throughout the video? I thought it was just an animation because I saw it in another video that said it was not a mod.
I think with all these new features, there would have to be a new way of obtaining the eggs as well. Otherwise, there would be a bigger fight around it, even on small servers. Maybe keep the abbility to respawn a dragon with end crystals, and that one will always create a new egg? I don't know, but it would be really lame if only one of 6 or so people on a SMP got dragon armor and tools. You could trade it of course, but I feel many people would rather keep it to themselfes for a huge advantage.

I agree with most of your opinion on minecraft usually but I somehow feel some idea you suggest was a bit OP and other felt just like they were displacing the problem instead of fixing it the Idea in the video I agree the most with it the omlette idea since it could be kind of a double edge sword if we lack hunger for several minecraft day since it could also mean in that time healing could be harder so fight could often be fatal in the duration unless the use of potion.
Just the fact that you’re using an unique item for an temporary buff is already way to bad, that doesn’t need any balancing, specially if the egg is the only way to get an stronger armor

I have a solution for the elytra and the dragon egg problem at the same time
Instead of getting the elytra from an end ship you could get it by using the dragon egg in a crafting table with shulker shells and the dragon’s head to make a new egg which could spawn a new dragon that when killed would drop an elytra and another egg or maybe if that isn’t good enough maybe drop an pattern like the banner ones that when combined with a new item found in a structure (maybe ocean temples because they are almost useless) makes an elytra and the pattern isn’t destroyed so you can have multiple elytras because in multiplayer have 1 elytra for 10 people would be pain

The dragon egg shouldn’t be unique but rare (2% chance or more). Then you could craft other eggs for dragons or other creatures or/and be able to trade it with a special villager.
Craft: There could be different types of dragons (like the red one but more than only one, wich could be tamed)
Villager: A new job (like a falconer for dragons “Dragoner”). He would accept the dragons' eggs for really special loots like a kind of compass to find another boss.
So, this is what I’m thinking of at 10 pm, so, don’t judge. Actually, i'd like to make mod now that I think about it. But, I don’t know anything about modding.

What was the custom ender dragon fight that shown throughout the video?
I remember an old 2d browser minecraft rip-off called MineBlocks or something. I loved it and it had the dragon drop dragon scales which could be used to craft dragon scale armour.
I'd feel so bad for the egg that I'd rebuild it's mama dragon to not feel like a horrible being :(
Ten years ago when I started playing the game back in primary school I thought you could put the egg on some hay and then the enderdragon would hatch and be your friend.
I was so sure about this being true because on german server called gomme where I used to play on a lot, there was a bed wars map called dragon where the mid island was a nest of hay with some dragon eggs rebuild.
I was so disapointed when I found out that you do not need the egg to respawn it.
I lovw these ideas, they make sense and are useful while also staying minecrafty. Great video!
I love these ideas, but the end islands need an overhaul too, maybe end villages to match the end citys, maybe make the boats spawn randomly sometimes and give dragon scales instead of elytras or have special end villagers that sell end specific items for dragon scales/gems.

What if in order to hatch dragon you have to built maxed Netherite beacon and place dragon egg on top of it instead of beacon ? that would be so hard to do and also so rewarding

Right now you can get the elytra just by finding an end ship maybe you can bring an inventory full of blocks and craft them into slabs and bridge out to one. I know you would have to kill it to leave but having one when you’re fighting it would make it too easy. One idea I have is that you could use the egg to spawn the dragon. It would be like the wither. As a trophy you could craft the elytra with it’s wings. Making the dragon fight optional an making the portal easier to find and/or craft able would encourage new players to go to the end if the were to updated it since it’s usually a late game thing
7:12 i love collecting trophies / badges in games so it would be nice ofc but i would also want an dragon egg just as trophy.. so maybe make it that if you defeat the next gen dragon a new egg spawns which summons the same exact dragon or the egg will spawn somewhere in a 1k-10k by 1k-10k radius of main end island? or a random new end structure spawns somewhere in a 200k radius from each direction of the main island which has an dragon egg in the middle of it

I've wanted stackable protection and sharpness/smite enchantments on gold gear. Given its comparative lack of armor points, durability, and knockback resistance, I don't think it'd be overpowered compared to Netherite.

I disagree with the dragon set that you proposed because I think that having stronger armor isn't important once you have netherite. If they were to add the dragon set they should accompany it with a strong boss for you to use if against. (Harder than proposed buffed ender dragon) also the ender dragon pet would most likely be Hella glitchy.
Trophies do not necessarily need to have any other use beyond being a novelty

What if the dragon upgrade could be a path where once you get diamond armour you can change it to netherite but cant get dragon armour or get dragon armour but cant get netherite. Kinda like choose hell or heaven
There was a mod called Reign of Dragons that added Dragon Nests to the game which would spawn occasionally around the world with a dragon sleeping in it. It didn't have as much health as the End Dragon but they were more aggressive and dealt more damage. Fire dragons could breath fire and any trees they burned got turned into blocks of coal and the leaves destroyed, grass also got turned into soot grass. Frost Dragon could breath frost and cause blocks to freeze and shatter with their attack. Defeating them resulted in them droping dragon scales which could used for armor that had better DEF than Diamond and inside the nest you could take an egg which could be hatched to spawn a pet dragon.
Sounds like an cool mod or plug-in to add to OG-SMP

Just respawning the dragon to farm is repeatedly would get stale after a while, I propose each player can only respawn it once and there are other dragon temples with different dragon variants to go out and find throughout the end 8:22

This can just be an add on to the new armor trims, like many people want armor trims to have small buffs, maybe something dropped from a dragon fight could be a “trim upgrade”
i like most of these ideas, but
the glow thing with the helmet is op and could be used to xray caves
maybe the new trim systme couold be how you upgrade with whatever the dragon would drop
make the dragon drops have to be put toghether before trimming the armor/tools to encourage multiple respawns
every respawn the dragon is exponentially harder, by 1.25-1.5%
make the god sets have to be made on multiple different armor sets and then all combined together to encourage late mining
the elytra upgrades are good, but maybe make the stock elytra slower and the rockets not as effective to encourage other movement methods that require bulding in advance (ice tracks, rails, etc.)
after a few respawns there could be mini dragons that come with it that would 1 mini egg that you could take back and hatch to complete the promise for the red dragon
i like the pet idea, but the tamed dragon should be limited only to the end to encourage more end exploration
I think i'd be cool if dragon armour would be an alternative to netherite.
Whereas Netherite armour gives you i knockback resistance, Dragon armour could protect you against magic and potions, simmilar to how the Dragon is immune to status effects (also, maybe it would allow you to teleport without losing health)
This way a player could choose whether they want to spend their time mining netherite in the nether, or fight the dragon in the end, depending on their needs
Also, it'd make it very much viable for pvp, since potions miiight be buffed in a future combat update, and things like harming II or Poison II can be pretty annoying at times
The one thing you all are forgetting is that the egg is unfertile due the the dragon being the last of her kind.
That is why it will never hatch.
That's why you spawn a second one to fertilize it
It is the same dragon all times. There fore the respawned dragon has the same gender as the original.
The idea behind that egg is to be just a trophy. Like if you win some sort of tournament. Idk if that trophy was ever useful except for being a cool decoration on the shelf. I see it more as a vanity rather than something to be used for any practical purpose. Though if the egg would hatch into a baby ender dragon, woulda been very cool.
bro i had this one idea, yes you could add an upgraded dragon after u kill the first one but it would be cool to have upgraded dragon variants each time you summon a new one thus having variants of the dragon armor, each one having a different power from the other
There's a mod called Progressive Bosses, but it doesn't drop items from the ender dragon.
I think you should be able to like take the dragon egg to somewhere like a plains biome and activate it.And over a few days it will give rise to a new kind of biome which only spawns good mobs grows from the egg.

I saw an old video of yours explaining why the Survival Games died. You said in a comment if you got big enough you'd start your own SG. Which you did.
But it also died, have you ever wondered why all the SG versions die, even the OG ones?
They could add spider caves as a structure, giant caves with cobwebs and a mini boss, The queen spider. Which when killed could drop a chestplate enchantment, Climb. And in the spiders den if you open a chest and get lucky you could get a spider staff which could tame spiders and have them fight for you.
How to make the dragon egg useful:
1: Make it spawn a mcdonalds
2: Do what “1” said
the problem with the egg is that it was planned to have a use, but it wasn't realized
the thing i have with simply giving players better gear to strive for is that it just upgrades what they already have. sort of a powercreep. i do like bringing back the ultimate god armor set through hardwork like a master blacksmith tho.
i think the solution is to rework the dragon all together. maybe holding the egg opens up new dungeons in the overworld, nether, and the end. maybe dragons in the overworld would no longer attack you. i think it should be more than simple upgrading things. maybe different armor should serve different purposes, like armor set bonuses.
or you know, just play terraria lmao
For the tameable dragon idea it could be like a smaller version of the dragon that would act similarly to a dog but can fly, and since you’d only be able to get one per world i’d suggest it dropping and indestructible item on death that allows respawning it.
so somthing like when you use end crystals to respawn it dosent drop the egg but only the upgrade dragon drops the egg so there is only one at a time.
It would be cool if they added a lot of new attacks to the dragon and every time you fight it a few would randomly be chosen, and the more times you respawn it the more attacks it could choose.

If there was dragon armour, maybe you could enchant it with something like 'glide' that would allow you to have a level of lift and control based on the enchantment level, with max level being about 1/3 to 1/2 as good as an elytra.
you can respawn the dragon in any mode (multi, single...) look up a tutorial. you need 4 end crystals in a cross pattern on the obsidian around the end portal home again.
Yes, getting the dragon egg on a server in a rush is still one of my greatest memories. I did share it with 3 of my Minecraft friends though
A few of my coworkers started a bedrock realm a few months ago and we somehow managed to get a second dragon egg. The second time they killed it, another egg spawned for some reason

I've had one actually useful usage for the egg.
I used to play on a server that gained resonably more players a few weeks after I joined. I ovbviously had the egg, as when I joined nearly no-one was playing. I then dubed the egg and once more players began to flock in, I made a shop selling eggs.
4:15 dragon armor would be awesome, just brought me back to the terraria 1.2 days
A different idea for the Elytra stuff would be to make you able to combine an Elytra with a Dragon Chestplate to have the protection of armour with the gliding of Elytra. To balance this, the elytra-chestplate would take more durability damage (my reasoning for this is that it takes more effort for the elytra to keep you airborne with the added weight of the chestplate, and when being hit the elytra will be being hit along with the chestplate, thus damaging it). Alternatively, the elytra and chestplate could have seperate durability bars and the elytra will break off of the chestplate frequently (for the same reason as why the elytra-chestplate idea would take more durability damage) than a normal elytra breaks.

I think making it so that you can combine the elytra with the dragon egg to make the dragon wings (same stats as elytra but slightly higher durability) would be pretty cool
Dragon armor could be just purely comsetic on servers to make it less OP ... i also think the dragon should drop 2 eggs and the dragon needs to breed with a second dragon to drop further eggs ... im sure someone will come up with mods for all those ideas in this video and the comment section ...

You did not come up with any way to duplicate the egg, which means when you cook it for food, the entire server misses out on dragon armour/swords and pet dragons. Also there could only be one pet dragon then.

One of these dragon egg food items that I’ve come up with is the dragon omelette. Since, there doesn’t seem to be any omelettes in Minecraft yet.
I think there should be a choice between netherite and the new dragon(ite) armor. Netherite armor has higher knockback reduction and durability than diamond, so maybe dragon armor could have a different properties like higher protection against certain types of damage. There could also be a third choice linked to the overworld.
Good idea, making players go different paths, or in the endgame maybe going all paths to have all amours at once for every situation. Also it fixes the problem of netherite already beeing strong and getting another upgrade.
When I was younger, my friend told me that you could hatch the dragon egg and ride a baby dragon that would hatch. I remember that being the main reason I wanted to beat the game. It's a shame that it still has almost no use.
I’ve always wanted more dragons after I found out they were going to add them like imagine climbing up mountain and finding a dragon nest or a dragon deep in a cave or a ice dragon in the snow or ice biomes maybe you could tame them some how or get harder to get items easily and we could have different dragons like eastern dragons or wyverns to add variety so we don’t just see European style dragons and I do wish we could hatch the ender dragon egg me and my friends tried so hard to back when they first added the dragon
I feel like Mojang doesn't want Minecraft late-game to be something provided to the player, but instead something the player creates. Keeping late-game open allows for a lot more variety in the things players can do after reaching the endgame era, and prevents the game from getting boring once everything provided by Mojang is done.
I do like the dragon armor idea, though. The elytra gem thing feels a bit weird, though. Not sure why, it just feels weird to me. Maybe the dragon can have a chance of dropping a wing fragment, which when you collect 7 you can combine them with an elytra to make it more efficient?

I think it would be more interesting to make Dragonite as a special alloy from an end ore and a drop from the dragons. Dragonite gear would have their stats increase as your statistics increase, creating a sort of mastery type system. Also should be noted that dragonite items cannot be enchanted, but repaired in a smithing table with dragonite ingots and a repair kit from end challenges. Killing creepers would increase your damage against creepers. Taking damage from skeletons decrease the damage you take from skeletons. Mining gravel would make mining gravel faster. Drinking potions increase the drink speed, strength, and duration of the specific potion. Dying from a zombie increase the chance you can evade death on a lethal hit from a zombie. Etc, etc, etc.
Throughout the end, new structures would be created for challenges. One challenge per structure, and challenge determines rewards. Some challenges would be: Defeat one of the dragons; fly through some rings; kill some endermen in a time limit; sacrifice a specific piece of gear; or fulfill a specific statistic. And the current spawning method should stay to respawn the egg, but the egg should be used to spawn the upgraded fight.
