Thanks for your kind words and great work! 🔥Interesting to see your solution as my original approach is a bit different. I definitely spent way more hours on this than you did though.
Some main differences with my original website:
- The text doesn't follow the 3D curve, which creates kind of a parallax effect. So the text is just plain HTML, making it both easier to animate and accessible.
- The 3D scene consists of a cylinder with the camera placed in the center. Then, with some help from my friend and WebGL guru Filip Kantedal, the images are placed as a texture on the inside of the cylinder with a shader. And the cylinder is rotated on scroll.
