I've launched www.kedu.me! If you want to learn how to speak Igbo by the end of this year. If you have children, nieces and nephews! there are also classes for them! Asụsụ Igbo ga-adi!
This is beautiful, our people should learn our language no matter where they're born or raised. Igbo is the language of the First men, Ndi Ushi, Ndị Mbụ, Ndigbó (ancient people).
Thank you for this video. I appreciate you to the core for relaying this message , and especially in English. May your Ikenga continue to drive you to get whatever you need out of this matrix.
Thank you for the info! I just found out that I am Ibo🤗 I am excited to learn all I can about the history and culture that was stolen from me, especially since I had never really heard Ibo peoples before. You are doing a service to those of us that are only just now stepping into the light and learning about our ancestral heritage.
9:22 "Things you want done in the world must be done by you. Your desire to see them done are a clue for what your purpose on earth is...you are the divine intervention that you seek" - D.O. (paraphrased)
Came across this video almost a year ago and it explained alot to me, very thorough. Since then I've gone on to explore Igbo spirituality in depth, read king warrior magician lover, the Bhagavad-Gita...lots of literature Now I watch this video again and it's different. It resonates with me. I've felt exactly what he describes. The power of a connectedness to one's 'higher self', a focus and 'devine strength' I see more and more the devastation caused due to lack of rites of passage for men in today's society and the emptiness as many keep living unfulfilled lives... I don't know. Has this been done intentionally or are we genuinely loosing a valuable piece of ourselves over time?
That video should be coming soon, and it will be brought up on my next video. There are details on the Ofo in this video as well. ruclips.net/video/4uscivz7Qyk/видео.html
daalu so! your channel has been enlightening. could you do a video on the agreements made in ala mmuo that determine how spirit inhabits human form? (how it's decided who reincarnates in a particular body/life, decisions around the number of spirits to a body, etc.)
What more can I say, than to tell you that you are great!!! Thankd so much. I pray to Chiukwu mmuo & Okike to continue to strengthen, protect and provide you all you need to do His work in joy, in happiness & in more blessings.
Another great video. From my understanding Ikenga has to do with your destiny/purpose and comes from your chi. I guess in my right hand, would probably be a camera or a artist brush since I am an artist. Question though, I know many of your examples often are in regards to men.. are there any distinctions in cosmology for men and women?
I noticed it leaned male after and I regret it a bit. I'll be better about it. There are distinctions but everything has a male and female energy, version, or mirror. There is also an entire cosmological world exclusive to women that who's features I'll be covering aspects of. There are female Ikenga for example, but they are rare. Typically their horns are smaller and the seated figure is a woman. One of the nicest ones i've seen is smoking a pipe which I found interesting because she held it with both hands.
Thanks for the videos and teaching's more wisdom and knowledge to you. But please clear me on this because I have been Believing that the left hand is the Aka Ikenga while the right hand is Aka Mmadu.
Thanks for the video! I've been very curious about ikenga for a few years now, and am glad to have more info. I've read that ikenga is mostly dealt with by men and not usually by women. Could you speak more on the traditional views on that?
Thanks for asking; my next video will actually go into that (Omumu Explained) so keep an eye out for it. Ikenga is more vital for male social roles than female (war, competition, athleticism, travel etc) and comes from the male aspect of the self for both men and women. Some women have Ikengas fashioned for them and venerated but they're consistently considered 'man-like' or have done something great that's traditional male in society (great female wrestlers for example).
@@TheMedicineShell Thank you for such a beautifully explanatory and illuminating video. I came across your video in my search to know more about the Ikenga and have wondered if there is a feminine equivalent. I'm glad to learn that it depicts the masculine self of man.

Peace ☮️✌🏾🖖🏾 to you and all. This video resonated with me. What led me to this video is my search for the (many) transliterations of my last name, Aiken, to my knowledge thus far seems to be a unique one. It is mostly attributed to those of Irish heritage. I myself a descendant of Moors of Aiken,South Carolina. My question, are there any references you’re privy of linking Aiken to Ikenga transliterations. Thanx. Also if the term Ouse is of any significance in Igbo culture. Thx again.
Thanks for watching! The idea is new to me, I can look into it and if I find anything reliable I will circle back. Though I will tell you that there's no real relationship between the Ndigbo and the Moors.
Edu Nwoye that’s not what he said. But it is suggested because any craftsman in Igbo culture should be initiated in the arts therefore would be a Dibia in his field of knowledge. Everything is spiritually guided and art is an important expression especially as it pertains to the well being of ones destiny and the community. Serious business . But I am willing to bet Ala would have no problem with you making your own or commissioning a righteous carpenter after educating him and trusting him with your Ikenga. But it will be risky at the same time.
Is the Ikenga crafted based on what one has achieved or is it based what one has already achieved? Secondly, is there any feminine equivalent to the Ikenga or can certain women have Ikenga too?
Ikenga (as an award) is based on achievement, though you can have one simply to represent you. A woman's seat of power is Omumu, and I have a video on that topic if you're interested. Women can be awarded Ikenga but it's still in honor of her masculinity or masculine achievements.
I live in Britain no way to get one or get one made here. All the west Africans/africans in Britain are Christian. Is their alternative, can i do it without it.

How does one crafts his Ikenga?
Is Ikenga go to do in the sight of God? Please i need answers 🙏
Daalụ maka nkụzị a. Ọ pụtara na nwanyị anaghị enwe ikenga?

Good evening my brother I would like to make contact with you
twitter.com/ShellMedicine let me know if this works for you
Who can I contact to help me unlock my chi
Why do you think it's locked? Anything concerning your Chi can only be done by you.
I will use my Ikenga for good. For our worlds sake.
Iseee
Can you choose your tribe? I’m from the Caribbean, so my origin is not known, can I choose to be Igbo?
Go for a DNA
Kinda...I guess
I live in Britain no way to get one or get one made here. All the west Africans/africans in Britain are Christian.
Is their alternative, can i do it without it.
You can do without; understanding the concept and applying it towards your aspirations is the most important part. Jishike (stay strong)
Hello, but people take IKenga as a name, is this ok?
Yes its ok
Does women have ikenga
Everyone does, but its what makes a man a man so its his 'seat of power'. A woman's 'seat' is Omumu which i also have a video on
So can females have ikenga?
Everything with a Chi has an Ikenga
I thought
Ikenga is the god of war and strength and hunting similar to Ogun, Ares, Tyr and other war deities
'God of' is a foreign way of describing our concepts. You can not say 'Ikenga bu Chukwu agha' in Igbo because it doesn't make sense. Ikenga is a force
I’ll like you to preach more on our WhatsApp groups

My surname is Ikenga..what could this mean??
It means have an ancestor named Ikenga. Maybe a grandparent or great grandparent.
