I am the descendent of enslaved Africans in the USA. I recently received my results from African Ancestry on my maternal line and learned that there is 100% match with the Igbo currently located in Nigeria. Thank you for the wealth of information and the amazing delivery of it. Blessings to you and your family.
I appreciate this information Shared. I do argue that our Ancestors were on a path of True Discovery. That Christianity cut our Development in the bud. So much wisdom passed down from generation to generation. What has the Christian Faith Brought to us? Where do we find true Teachings in today's Christian Church? Thanks For The Information, I'll still look forward to more videos.
Every Igbo spirituality(odinala) is perfect. It is a natural law. However, the cultural aspect (omenala or omenani) is where some dubious elders messed up. @@cambusquaert9632
Regarding your first two questions Several pseudo/fictional characters who NEVER existed and a book of fiction meant to benefit and elevate oyinbo. Just sayin...
So... thank u soooo much for your Videos. They just open my eyes. I was born in Germany and raised here my Mother is Igbo, but taught the christian way of spiritual mindset. I had not so much the opportunity to learn about my heritage an still its soo a big mystery for me. I so grateful that u spill this information it mean a lot for me PLEASE keep going.....Daalu
I know about Chi and Mmuo, but was never knew about Agwu because the religion I grew up under a foreign religion, that tried to suppress this knowledge, by claiming that this knowledge is e@$&. Anyway, I have thrown off the shackles and seek to raise my spiritual vibration as Onye Igbo abu’m. Daalu, nwanne.
Eze nwanyi, jishi ike. Agwu was also taught to me later in life, mainly through my own research and finding good mentors. I'm happy that you took the time to watch, Daalu!
I can believe it. When distant people's work to understand themselves and world around them, it's no surprise that they often come to the same conclusions. I appreciate you watching, hope you stick around!
Thanks for this video! I recently started studying Igbo spirituality, been eager to know what we as a people practiced before christianity came. I think you will like works by John Anenechukwu Umeh, After God Is Dibia, some of the mythology you talked about here were expressed in there, but you did a great job at breaking them down. I am interested on your take on the role of Dibia in our communities? How religion turned our spirituality evil? Keep the videos coming!
I've made a video that touches on the role of Dibia in our communities. It's about the Arushi of the Dibia, Agwu. I'll touch on my views on the relationship w/ Christianity and the current status of our believes in a coming video
Some of the symptoms of Ala agwu you mentioned, are similar to mysterious behaviors of a family member which no one can explain. Especially the isolation of oneself. So are you saying that they likely have a call to be a dibia? Or can agwu afflict a person for other purposes on earth ? Thanks for this great teaching 😊
Hetep! Kaa san Brotha Lion! As a Yoruba/IFA and Akan[fowo] devotee - is Chi similar to the Yoruba "Ori" and the Akan "Okra/Okrawa"? Have you written/published any print books or journals on great/detailed information of you our research and broadcasts? If so, please let us know where/how we can purchase them. Dalu!
Absolutely mind blowing stuff. It really is beginning to come together in my mind. I believe that at my age I am only just beginning life's journey having been infused with a new (or renewed) sense of purpose. All thanks to you!
Yes, we have Chi within us and then there is Chi-Ukwu (contracted to Chukwu, which means the Supreme Chi), which can also be referred to as Chineke (Chi that creates or the Supreme creator).
Right, only Chukwu and Chineke are different. Chiukwu is the 'Chi' in 'Chi'neke. They other element is Eke. Chineke is God and Chukwu is an aspect of God but can also be a name for God (if that's not too confusing). Have you seen my Chineke explained video?
So I recently read an article on medium, the link is medium.com/@davepartner/the-powerful-concept-of-gods-and-the-worship-of-them-in-igbo-land-e26467e4b32f. This article describes the chi as a person's luck/fate. A few proverbs were used to explain. “Chi ya egbuo ya”. “His god has killed/punished him” or “his luck has failed him” “Onye kariri mmadu kariri Chi ya” “He who is greater than a person is greater than the person’s god/luck/fate” The article told a story of a wrestler called Dimgba who defeated his chi which destroyed himself. I'm not sure if that story is popular but it caught my attention as that's my name. The article also continues on to explain that names that include the word chi can be translated to include the word luck but is now mostly translated to mean the Christian God. So I just wanted your opinion on this. And maybe you can talk about it in future videos if you can. So grateful for this channel and these videos.
Hi, Ill be doing my Chi video very soon. As far as luck and fate, I'll say that your Chi determines or affirms your luck/fate but is not your fate/luck alone.
Wow such an amazing approach to tough and and for most African Americans unknown topics. It's somewhat easier for you all to shed things of New and get back to your roots and things of Old there on the continent since the root is all around you. If at all possible can you shed some light on the connections between Hebrew and Ordinani as it relates to Africans Americans. Thank you.
@@TheMedicineShell Awesome! If what you've done presently is the judge then it will be well worth the wait.. Thanks again. Oh and much appreciated for the use of the term theory. 😉
This was a great video! Since Onyeuwa returns to the world and Mmuo goes to the spirit realm, when someone reincarnates do they retain the same Mmuo and have a different Onyeuwa, or vice versa? Or do they retain both? It's possible you've discussed this in your reincarnation video, but just in case I decided to ask here. I've also started reading Leopards of the Magical Dawn so I may learn more about it there as well. Thank you once again for such an excellent video!
The wood used is more important and impactful than what is even carved later on. Certain trees have a special mmuo, and this gives them power be it in the forming of tools like Ikenga, or in medicine. Pay attention to what wood is used for what item and you will understand the power and meaning of the item a lot more.
Thanks for this. It's so insightful. I have a question, so the eke will be buried and will decay, mmuo is the spirit that goes to eluigwe, the onyeuwa reincarnates, what happens to the chi when a person dies?
As Agwu neglected leads to schizophrenia, once a person has reached that point, can they come back from it ? How can they reconnect with their Agwu or has Agwu gotten too offended ?
The phrasing that's used is to 'work with agwu' or 'make peace with agwu' so I don't believe it goes away, it just occupies a healthier, more mutually cooperative space in your life and mind
The word (Chi) was derived from "echi" meaning "old wire money". The word ( eke ) meaning "python" in combination as echi na eke are the object forms of the subject expression: chineke "God the Creator". The word (Agwu) meaning doctor, in old days the Igbos living in Igboland called the Igbos returnees from abroad (Osu Agwu) meaning a returnee doctor. The word (Osu) was pronounced as "osu la ha gba lata ebea " meaning ..it happened there and they came back. these are indigenous Igbos abroad that was conquered in Europe, Asia and middle east and return back to Igboland, some are Returnee Medical Practitioner you called 'Osu agwu', Returnee Land Surveyor called 'Osuala.,' Osuji is called "Returnee agronomist". 'Osu agha ' crisis of Igbos returning during the genocide of Igbos in Europe. (Mmuo which is spirit) is a new name. In Igbo language: (Spirit) pronounced as 'Ose a paru atu' meaning.. God that brings the advice of the divine light.

That is true to a certain degree but there were some practices in Igbo society that were downright criminal that Christianity abolished.
