The day the Raven becomes standard roaming detection will be when it gets an observation mode, making it all army proof like Observers and Overseers
Observers and overseers are not army proof though. They die very easily.
Also, the raven can actually fight back with turrets unlike the overseer and observer.
"all army proof" is referring to being able to put obs/ovies into the sieged observation mode so hitting the all army hotkey doesn't make you accidentally send them into the front line to die.
also the Ravens are much much much more expensive than Observers and Overlords

Clem may have done that but in terms of win rate... Clem won 8 matches against Maru where Maru won 25 matches against clem... Clem's last fight with Maru clem lost 1:2

He clearly said in game one was the ranking was based on tournament earnings. Seeing Clem is still young, he still has a lot of time to overtake them
Reynor was the only person to beat Clem twice at EWC. Maybe that’s one of the best series considering it wasn’t a clear sweep? Would probably be a good watch IMO.
God ghosts are such a bullshit unit
i disagree, i think an energy based one button nuke ability (snipe, not nuke) that one shots and outranges every hyper end game unit is balanced due to the fact that you dont have infinite energy. so yes your broodlord may cost 300m 250g 4 supply, or ultralisk 275m 200g 6 supply, but hear me out. if you hypothetically have infinite money, infinite larva, and if shields are not half of your entire armys HP, then in theory, energy is blatantly inferior. Ergo ghost is balanced and broodlord and shields are imba. plus you made a terran painstakingly get a tier 3 unit instead of sitting on tier 1 marines and tier 1 mines for 25 min, they deserve to win.

@@kurt7937both Protoss and Zerg don’t have skills can instantly take out half of unit’s hp and nothing to knock out energy. Ghosts are indeed very powerful units.

More than an hour best of five Serral vs Maru? Colour me surprised, didn't think Maru could hold that long against soldier boy.
I still think Protoss needs an equivalent of Medivac (mobile shield battery) or Infestor (1 good shot to swarm high value targets).
Are they really the number 1 and 2 right now though, Lowko? I feel like Clem beating Serral 8-0 at the EWC is enough to solidify Clem as the best TvZ player, and he was already a monster in his other matchups. I think Clem will be the next SC bonjwa

@@bricelory9534 that's an absolutely terrible way to rank players though. Chinese brood war players make more money playing SC than korean players do, but the Koreans are FAR better. And if youre ranking players based on how much money they made, then you discredit amazing players that just didnt play in time to make all of the money these guys are making.
Clems weakness was always against Terran, especially Korean Terran.
He did not encounter a single Terran in this tournament, so we do not know how this would go.
But I guess he would do very well now too.

ZvT and ZvP have both lower than 46% winrate according to Aligulac and thats with Serral. Subtract him and Zerg winrates are in the absolute gutter on the current patch. No wonder Serral has to play cheese or super causious because his race has been overnerfed af
I think it’s more the maps and less the race. Overall, I believe Zerg is bakanced
@@heolx after the balance patch was live for a bit zerg winrate was bad. Take serral out of the stats and the winrate would be down the gutter. Believe what you want but stats don't lie

IDK, there were several big blunders for Maru in that 2nd game like seeing droppalords but not doing anything about them etc. So IDK. On a pro level when you've got 1 blunder it's a mid game at most. When you have 3-4 - it's a very bad game where everything went to hell
So i have a quick question. Would having 1 cyclone in that small harrasing group not provide some early anti-air for the mech/reaper group? I mean bio has antieverything but the small mech group could also be cool as well. Am i incorrect?

I remember early days Maru do multiple nuke on Serral. Since then Maru always lost. Looks like he not improving his game against Serral.

Hey Lowko. Didn't Clem use Ravens against Serral and won the world championship with a clean sweep?
Is it just me or does it seem like Serral is in Maru's head... Clem beat Serral easily with terran... I see Maru just make silly errors vs Serral... Low mentioned some, and here at 32:56 he loses a banchee for no reason... first he puts the lower hp closer to the zerg center, and then sees the counter coming really late... not saying one banchee would have saved him but this stuff happens all the time alone with just literally feeding his widows right into the zerg army like they not gonna shoot it? I understand he wants to get its range into the zerg army but if its DEAD it dont matter... and I have seen him seige his tanks SO late he might as well just shoot with them unseiged... I dont get why he is so sloppy vs Serral... and I dont want to hear about "Serral's greatness" when again he got killed by Clem just recently with Terran, and when Maru harasses him so inconsistently... Its like Maru plays his B game all the time vs Serral... and doesnt he see how amazing Serral is at dealing with the widows? Yet he has them all over useless doing nothing but getting killed after Serral splits and loses only one ling vs one widow, NOT a good trade... and at 1:27:38 absolutely no reason to go through those tiny doors... his army got lured into the worst place, into creep, and lost the game there after he was actually up SMH... plays so desperately and sloppy at times vs Serral even when he is winning... 1:32:25 AGAIN late seige, TWICE... tank barely got ONE shot off SMH... what a waste... lost him the game and match right there.

What do you mean when you say "on the back of this"? I keep hearing announcers say that and I always find it weird. I'd like to understand. Never played, just watched hundreds of games.
Usually it's about having momentum and what a player is going to do strategically to either continue aggression or develop macro/infrastructure.
Essentially, especially in early game, the first pushes we see players make aren't meant to win the game but are meant to give you space to develop your strategy - and so the direction they take is "on the back" of those aggressive pushes.

While that was how they finished in the world cup, these two are 1 & 2 in career winnings. Clem is #7 in career winnings, with his big win helping significantly.

Well, when you're pressured by Serral, it makes sense you make mistakes that you'd not likely make against other Zerg. That at least explains some of it.

@@simescoun22009 yep, but he also beat Serral in the past like 12/2023 ESL. Nothing new. He played very well and he won. But he didn't play any TvT vs top Terrans during whole event. And moreoever Serral is being in military service since 04/24 - so he has less time to play.. Clem did lose to Dark few days before event so.. Looking only on ONE event is not fair :)

Players take matches of each other all the time. Serral is still ranked 1 and by far is the best player overall.
At the end of game 1, Lowko describes the top 7-10 career earnings, and these two are indeed top 2
