Great episode! I think that Lord John is one of the most interesting characters. He is a man of honor and has shown loyalty and respect to Jamie

@@morinette8162 But David Berry himself stated, that the last episode of season 5 that had him in it was his final episode on the show. Where did you get your info? I don't care for season 6 at all, but that changes if he really is in it 😳 Do I have to be afraid that all the Droughtlander I didn't experience is going to catch up with me now because I should care for the new season? 😱
@@cameo86 he did say that a while ago but it must have been a misunderstanding, i can't see any other way around it. his comment was deleted short after he posted it and it's never been talked about since. i saw a video announcing season 6 on twitter (i'll try to find a link) and berry was in it and i believe the costume he was wearing was one we had never seen before. besides idk if you've read the books but his character becomes quite important in the 7th book, i can't see really how the show could continue following the books without the character. so yes i'm rather sure he's not leaving.
I always loved Lord John I loved him in the Books for his kindnes and his decency and Ilove hin in the movie... great actor

I adore these scenes with Claire and Lord John Grey! Really well done by both Cat and David Berry! Would so love to see Lord John Grey have his own tv series based on his novels. He is such an interesting, intriguing, character and we’ll be able to see more of LJGs adventures in the books played out on screen starring the one and only David Berry! It would be an incredible show and a big hit for whoever produces it!

@Cameo86 Well, it's not exactly right, Claire wanted to tell Brianna, but it was Frank who did not want Claire to tell Bree the truth about her biological dad !

@@wangarikaranja7580Well, it worked, didn't it? Bree believed her in the end. They both lied or kept the truth about Jamie being the real father of their kids. Both with good reasons, but still, she lied just as much as he did. To protect her kid and her family. But a lie is a lie
@@giuliapicchiotti So both Claire and John had good reasons. But she lied just as much and in the end, it was possible to tell Bree. She had a good reason and seems to completely ignore the fact, that John had one as well and that Jamie probably wanted it this way. Still, she tries to make John feel bad about it. Not fair in my opinion
Also, Brianna’s and William’s circunstances regarding the knowledge that Jamie is their biological father are very different. The worst that could happen if Brianna found out was that she would personally feel betrayed, as she did; if William finds out, and this becomes public, it would not only have consequences is a psychological instance, but also on a social level, because he would lose all the the things he was entitled to as heir of family Dunseny (don’t know how to pronounce). It would destroy his reputation, something that was much more important in the 17th century than in 1960
This is really interesting.. Claire is a modern women and is open-minded. But homosexuality is still something, in the 1940s-1960s to not talk about. She doesn't give a full opinion..
There’s also the whole Black Jack Randall thing which may have coloured her opinion....
I think that is her not being so open to him has more to do with the fact that she was indeed a little jealous. I'm assuming that if any other character close to her like Briana was gay, she wouldn't judge. And she does know that Jamie was willing to lay in bed with him. (I'm aware that his reason for this was not pure desire, it was a payment but still he'd have done it)
I think she is probably way less open minded than we are. I get the impression that she doesn't necessarily fully get LGBTQ+ people but knows it isn't her business. I appreciate that they aren't shying away from that. I love that she was drinking through her pregnancy, not that it's right but it's realistic of the time.

@@selty I am glad someone else noticed that about the drinking during pregnancy (and Brianna during Jocasta’s dinner party). It wasn’t yet a known health issue even during their 60’s modern time.
