WHAT IS POWERCHAIR HOCKEY?
Powerchair hockey or e-hockey is played with electric sports wheelchairs where two teams compete against each other. It is a mixed sport and is intended to get people with a physical disability to exercise in a team. This variant of hockey is a combination of field hockey and ice hockey. Wheelchairs are allowed to drive a maximum of 18 km/h and in each team you have 5 players.
OUR 2V2 TOURNAMENT
The version that we consciously choose to use at this tournament is the 2 against 2 variant. Teams of 2 players play hockey on a smaller version of the hockey field and push each other to get out of their own comfort zone. Because there are two players in each team, every skill they have mastered is important to win competitions. At our tournament, there is more room for tricks and quick decisions, because you are a compact team. Our mission is clear: we want to create an environment where international powerchair hockey athletes come together and grow together.
ORGANIZERS
Our organizers Senne Brouwers and Maxime Decrock always dreamed of organizing an international sports event. These young men play hockey themselves in a Belgian and also a Dutch team. They defend our Belgian tricolours at World Cups and European Championships with the Belgian powerchair hockey national team. In 2022 joined Dijana Lesic APHC as well, later Drago Lesic and Senne Poppelaars joined.
