The Reserve Bank of India rule states that if the currency notes are torn into several pieces, they can be used and even if any part of the torn note is missing, it can be replaced. Normal mutilated notes can be exchanged at any of the bank branch counters or any RBI office.

It works, even i changed 2 notes of 500 rs. You don't even need to fill any form or anything, just go to cash counter give them old notes and they will give you new notes directly, simple..!!

Obviously Shopkeepers refuse to take money because they have to trade the same note to another person and many people never takes the torn notes idk why.
So Shopkeepers aren't the bad guys here.
But shop keepers deposit there money to bank frequently so they can change that torn note easily. where as common PPL has to go bank just to change 10,20 or 100 ₹ note

According to the new rules by the RBI, mutilated currency notes can be exchanged by the bank and no one can refuse to exchange. If you have tape pasted or mutilated notes and you are unable to use them, RBI has made rules to replace them. The torn notes are of no use and nor does anyone take them.

I got such notes exchanged in Indian Overseas and SBI banks. They do change it if it's a minor damage but not acceptable in the market. They do it without any hassle.

Well the note thing is actually true,i don't know about other tricks.but this is useless as the cost for going to the bank and waiting there would be much more than the value of the note

This actually work in real life.. i exchanged my 2k rupees note which got teared apart, from the bank.
50 rs tak ki currency ki full value milti hai uske upar if single largest part 80% se jada ho to full value otherwise depends on area of largest available
As per RBI guidelines no person is entitled as a right to recover full value of soiled, mutilated notes. It is at the full discretion of the bank. Please read clean note policy of RBI for further info
Even I read if u have more than 50% quantity of your note you'll get your . Baki mai bank k liye padai kar rha hu.. naukri milne k bad bolta hu..
But the procedure got tough these days . You need a certificate from Cash Manager CM and olso another officer in bank

I did the same, by mistake I washed 3900 rs and the went to RBI they asked for a copy of adhar card and a form to be filled and after 5-6 months I got the money back as deposited in my account.

My mother's reaction after watching this video was aaysa nahi hota special cases main hee hota hain only when note is torn off with excessive use or has a cut or is little burnt.
Yeah try doing this in a bank on a Thursday afternoon ...... They'll kick you out of the galaxy bruh.
Having the theoretical knowledge is one thing but it's not practically possible in our country .
And who even decides if 80% damaged or 60% , the banker can just say anything and you can do nothing or can complain to rbi and wait for 2 months to get your torn 10 rupee note exchanged .

@@debadyutidey218 yes, torn currency exchange is not available in all branches, only regional main branch and zonan main branch can exchange torn notes. All other branches can collect torn notes and provide a receipt to the customer and exchange it behalf of customer in main branch, but it is a lengthy process and these branches hesitate to do so, they accept notes only when their machine accepts it.
Well, as per rules, a soiled or mutilated note can be exchanged at any branch of a public sector bank or the currency chest of private sector banks or the RBI office. There is no need to fill up any form for this. So if any public sector bank is not exchanging the note, you can ask them the reason and if they don't give any satisfactory answer, you can ask them about making a complaint with Banking Ombudsman. However if the note is washed/burnt/ torn into several pieces and not decipherable anymore then you'll have to visit the RBI office, fill up a form and you'll receive money as per the RBI rules.

Actually I also got changed my 500 ₹ note from the bank ,when I withdrew the money from the ATM and the bank was next to the ATM and after that I had a conversation with the cashier of the bank and got exchanged the 500 ₹ note .

More than 50% of teared noted are replaceable, no need of more than 80%.

Agaye yeh bhi batao ki yeh notes chest branch mein deposit karna hota hai....with those parts sticked with khakhee paper and not plastic tape. I work in currency branch so i knw...its not like u go in any branch and you can exchange. And u need to have those pieces with you....n if u lost piece then its of no use
