@@jpslayermayor9293 objectively it's still hard to say. The only reason Staley doesn't get this award hands down every time is because his career was only a third of Cornell's as far as time.
It amazes me the man wrote like this in his mid 20s. To have the depth and perspective, that young, to create things like this is amazing to me. The world never understood what it had with him and doesn’t understand what it lost that day either.
I feel blessed to have seen one of his last concerts but I had to leave after the first three songs and then a week later he was dead. I thought back and wish I could go back and watch it all.
Adam really and truly found the essence of this great song. I was super impressed with his own tribute to Chris and loved how he stayed close to the original version but also made it his own. I was seriously impressed
After 15 years of singing, then heard higher truth by Chris Cornell. Took 5 years to develop his range. Chris Cornell IS the male vocal mountain. Thank you Chris.
RIP Chris Cornell - Happy 57th Birthday (tomorrow)! Adam Levine did an awesome job with this cover. Which it turns out is a testament to just how immense Chris Cornell's talent was - Because it STILL cannot compare to the raw power and soul of Chris' version. You just "feel" a different way when Chris sings it.
Loved that “Singles” soundtrack. One of my all time favourites. Every track so good. As for Chris, he has always been in my top 5 singers of all time too.
Wow I haven't heard that song in 20 years but I was singing right along to it like it was just yesterday, such a beautiful song, Cornell was an incredible artist, and Adam Levine was so divine in his recreation of Cornell's vocals, well done
Chris, you changed my life. I wish I could tell you personally. Thank you for all of it. Few artists, if any, come close to you. Your music always hold a big place in my heart, soul, and everyday. Love xx.
Chris Cornell = legend! The content and feelings he was able to convey in his music are unmatched. Wish he was still here helping all of us get through this insanity we call life ❤❤😢
it gets hard to say "favorite" when it comes to CC...but this has always been my favorite CC song if forced to choose. what a great cover they did here ❤❤
I love it when other artists perform my favourite songs of my favourite artists. Does that make sense guys? Yeah, so this is a blessing. Amazing. Rip Chris.
Fk'n brilliant. One of my favourite songs ever. As someone who has lived in the Northwest all of their life, Seasons has the sound that has made a huge impact on me personally. If there was ever a perfect song for the region, this would be it. Great cover. Love and miss you terribly Chris.
Love this cover. Love the original and that entire sound track. If Maroon 5 did music like what they say their influences are I might not change the station every time their songs come on! LOL
I agree with Adam. It was a soundtrack not only for the movie, but for an attitude. I felt the vibe living in Seattle during that time. Craziest of times but the best of times!
To complement an artist there's no need to belittle another. Adam Levine is a great musician and I'm pretty sure he is proud of his accomplishment so far.
Lots of respect to Levine for knowing this song, and soundtrack even exist. Not many know that this soundtrack repped a generation. This song, in particular is a top 100 song for me.
Crying so hard while watching this. Outstanding. Felt Chris the whole time. I’m a 55 year old dude who misses Chris and so many others every single day. ❤️💪🏻😍 And yes, edit here: Love you to the moon and back, Howard! 🥰
As we Chris Cornell fans near closer to the fateful day when we lost a legend ' *the Voice* ', as he was known, this cover was bittersweet and yet beautiful. Levine and the guitarists did an excellent job here. But, no one comes close to the original...also considering Chris wrote this in a few hours for the soundtrack, not too many come close to that type of genius. Still missing you Mr. Cornell, no one sings like you anymore.
WOW that was beautiful ❤️ great job Adam and band mates made me cry!! 👍🤘❤️ Wonderful tribute to Chris Cornell RIP 😇 thank you for sharing Howard Stern Show!!
Actually give him credit for trying!!! Guitar parts are great and a lot of Adam’s singing is slightly in the universe of Chris Cornell. Lightyears away but he showed respect by trying it and that’s all love 🤘
Wow 😮 Huge shoes to fill and did an amazing job. Massive effort to take this on and nail it (guitars included). The world lost one of the best talents ever
I remember hearing a story when the Singles soundtrack came out that Chris Cornell bragged to Cameron Crowe that he could write a song based on anything, and (possibly in response to a challenge?) wrote Seasons based on a song title he spotted on a prop cassette for the in-movie band Citizen Dick.
Nobody has the Pain & the torment that came straight from the heart into your soul Chris told a story like no-one else That's what made his delivery World Class RIP CC You will always be with me 🤘
I remember where I was when I bought the singles sountldtrack and it had just come out. It takes me back to better times. Brings a tear to my eye. What a masterpiece of a song.
I could hear the guitar bang on to the recording, this is the best and closest version to the original. This brought great joy to me, to sit and listen and this of Chris.
This is amazing. Adams voice is crazy. Different to Chris and maybe not as 'felt' and more 'performed' but Jesus! So good. Love them both. I think Adam has a smoother less pushed falsetto. Chris's is more broken and sharp. Chris is more emotive but i enjoyed this a lot.
Chris had in my opinion the best male rock vocals of anyone in history. Really cool to see him given the respect he deserves.
Really cool
Lets be honest. Lets be objective. You are entirely correct, its not even close. RIP Chris

Couldn't have said that better
Chris was and is a Celestial, no doubt.
Said it well
I do brother.
They did an excellent job with the guitars. Almost sounds identical to the record
James Valentine is one of the best and must talented guitarist in the world.
@@jonsquier8268 not really. But he’s good.
Guitars are fine, singing is lacking, but a decent cover overall, as it compares to Chris Cornell. Without the comparison is would be a hit
james valentine is a great guitar player
Adam can’t touch Chris’ vocals though
Chris Cornell has a ton of great songs that most don't know about.
He's one of, if not the best song writers and singers.
I feel blessed to have seen one of his last concerts but I had to leave after the first three songs and then a week later he was dead. I thought back and wish I could go back and watch it all.
Soooooo talented🙌🏼
yah the whole Temple of the Dog album!

The vocals not so much xD
Not a Levine Fan but I was very impressed. I know this Song SO WELL, and they nailed it! RIP CC. LOUD LOVE FOREVER

Adam Levine just got a while new level of respect from me.
Adam Levine does a really good tribute to Cornell. Props to him, almost nobody can.

There's always that one song you just don't want it to ever end. Seasons is that song.
Give credit where credit is due. A great cover version.Well done lads!
Amazing performance, RIP Chris Cornell
they did a kickass cover of this song. makes me think of chris. brings a tear to my eye. miss him in this world. and missing that time in my life.
I agree buddy. Was better times.
This just makes you realize how great of a singer Chris really was. Adam Levine is no joke, and still, it's absolutely no match.
I hear you but he is still a joke.
Not even in the same ball part...but none the less a great cover.
You have to admit the guitarists were spot on though.
100% correct. Not even shade for Chris in all honesty

Great cover. One of the best covers I've seen of anybody doing Cornell. Well done Fellas
I wish bands had the balls to make rock records today instead of only trying to sell records
You said it and it’s so true!
Maybe it's the label and not the band
some still do, but the music industry isn't willing to take risks anymore
Rival Sons still doing it

God I can hear Chris Cornell coming at those high notes like a freight train.

He did a great job tho. ...
Holy! Just freaking wow. Still missing the Cornell tone but they hit the mark. Touching...brings back the memory
Imagine Adam Levine leaving pop music to make stuff like this
He'd be unstoppable.
If only he would leave music all together
They're first fewalbums were pretty "rocky"
The biggest disappointment in musical history. Every time I listen to Songs About Jane I get sad for what could have been.

He sang this at the Chris Cornell Tribute show in January of 2019 as well. I'm not a big Adam Levine fan but he does the song justice for sure.

I want to hear Myles Kennedy singing this song
I want to hear him sing every song, I don’t blame you

No, just no. Kennedy's voice has a totally different timbre that would not fit. He does a fine job with Jeff Buckley covers.
Ed did it in Düsseldorf 2019...his solo tour...
