Hi Brent great video, I live 5 minutes from Fowlesheugh and I can vouch for you, that is pretty typical weather! But when the sun does shine it's awesome and well worth a visit, cheers from Scotland!
I'm resident in Stonehaven (originally from Aberdeen) so very familiar with Fowlsheugh and Dunnottar etc. There's another great reserve a few miles south at St Cyrus. Just got the RF 100-500L yesterday so will be taking it down there very soon.
Your Scotland trip might not of gone as planned but your video was truly spectacular. You definitely captured the mood of the place. The mist was incredible and the sea birds looked fantastic.
Being Celtic by origin, I really liked the choice of music. I think you adapted well to the conditions and produced a really nice video. I just returned from Hilton Head and the weather there was solid overcast for 6 out of 7 days so I can relate to your experience.
Sorry your trip didn’t go as planned. Happy that you had a great time though. Did tell you about those ‘Four seasons in one day, days’. Scotland is famous for them.
Yeah, it was still cool though. The weather was the least of our problems. It never got cold or windy, just a bit rainy and foggy. I experience much more of the 4 seasons in a day thing up here in the high elevation mountains so I'm always ready for whatever weather comes my way.
Hi Brent, excellent video, sorry you're trip didn't go to plan, I normally come over your way for my wildlife holidays I love the US and Canada National Parks, but last year I thought I would stay in the UK and do a dream trip to the Isle of Mull Scotland, I had so many plans and had trips booked, but it rained for 90% of my 7 days there it actually rained more than when I was in Alaska!! It has not put me off and I booked to go back this Friday, fingers crossed for better weather.
Many thanks! Yeah, I figured there'd be some in the northern NM river areas, but there certainly aren't any down here in the southern part of the state. I'm planning on some camping and photography up in the Jemez soon, weather permitting. It's one of my favorite areas in NM.
I haven't made any videos about that. I've thought about it, but didn't figure there would be much interest for a drone photography video in my channel.
Loved this video Brent! Great choice of music also! I went on a puffin trip last year and dropped my main camera 2 days before reaching the puffin destination! It stopped working totally, used my backup, but the quality wasn't the same! So I'm going back in a couple of weeks to make up for it! Hopefully the weather will cooperate also!
Thanks Wayne, I appreciate it! That definitely sucks about your camera, but I'm glad you at least had a second body for a backup. Good luck on your next go at it.
In spite of a trip that was not completely successful, it seems you had a grand experience. Your workshop is sure to be special as well. Espen was certainly a good person to connect with in Scotland, great capabilities and experience. I may have been lucky but I have seen Dippers in New Mexico. The one place I especially recall is at the base of the Cat Walk near Glenwood. No photos but I really enjoyed the experience.
Thanks man! Yeah, Espen is awesome, for sure. That's crazy about the dippers at the Catwalk. I've been going there for most of my life and have never seen one this far south. I'm actually headed out to the Catwalk here in a little bit. There's some more dippers in northern NM though.
join me in Scotland for spring 2024:

Oh man, I'm definitely envious!
7:42 those cliff birds look great! 🤩👍
Thanks! They're definitely super cool to see.
Love Scotland, such great scenery. Landscape and people make up for the weather.
It really is an awesome country!
Stunning photos.
Thanks Mike, much appreciated!

Oh that's awesome, both that you live in Stonehaven, and about your new lens! So many potential landscape and wildlife opportunities for it out there.
That was INCREDIBLE, thanks for taking the time to share with us!!!!
Hey thanks man, I really appreciate that, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Also, I appreciate your specific choice of adjective there...😁

Thank you so much! Yeah, a lot went wrong, but it was still absolutely amazing to see everything out there. I'm already planning trips back.
Outstanding!! Very inspiring!
Thank you so much, I'm glad you liked it!
Incredible video and music thanks! Oh how I 'd wish to join you
Many thanks! 😀🙏
Great video Brent.
Thanks man! 😀🙏🎩
Top Drawer ............
That's the weather in Scotland and the coast, changeable and unpredictable are the words I would use. Weather aside, still a great location!
Yeah, it was still just completely amazing!

Lovely! I'll definitely have to visit Scotland one day. Cheers :)
It's just a ridiculously awesome place, for sure!
Absolutely stunning video Brent, thanks so much for making and sharing. p.s. - we also have cliffs like that here a little further up here on Orkney!!
Thank you Simon, I'm glad you liked it! Man I would love to get up to that area too.

Oh man, I'm glad it didn't rain that much while I was there, lol. Hopefully you get some better luck this next time around!
Beautiful scenery! Loved the video. There are dippers in the Jemez mountains of New Mexico!

Some of those moody video sequences would be great photos! I prefer that type of light.
I did manage to get a few images from the foggy cliffs area. It was definitely interesting to see.
Brent, have you ever posted anything regarding your drone and how you use it? I would be super interested!
I haven't made any videos about that. I've thought about it, but didn't figure there would be much interest for a drone photography video in my channel.

Wow
Great video!!
Many thanks!
Nice video have you ever tried the MFT OM-1?
Thanks! I've never tried that.
Right on cue, that white-wing shows up and he's displaying plumage. Time to pick up my camera while listening to Brent!
Brent, check your email. I just sent you a message.
Is it Abb's Head Nature reserve ?
Welcome home. So wish we got more fog here.
Thanks! Yeah, I wish we had more fog like that too, especially up in the Gila with all the foresty-ness and trees...oh that would be legit.
What it the exact location of the cliff please ?
