My grand dad is Pete goble... I grew up with these guys around all the time and listening to my papaw play and write sitting in his leather chair or at the kitchen table with his old martin... I was very young but he always asked for my opinion... I wouldn't trade those memories for the world. Thanks for the upload. Brandy Goble-meyer
Along with Bobby and Sonny's spot on harmony here, one cannot disregard the stellar (and yes very controversial) Steel Guitar work by the legendary, late Hal Rugg. ;)
Maybe it's not for everyone but the steel guitar adds to the song and their sound. Maybe primitive bluegrass is for you. . I think the popularity of the Osborne Brothers speaks for itself.
I'm looking out the window at the rain the night is driving me crazy It's just as cold inside all the warmth is gone without my baby And in my mind something stirs and my lips start crying out your name I'm sittin' here wondering where you are and listening to the rain. The beating on the window can't compare with the beating that I'm taking The window's gonna hold but look at me I'm already breaking Mem'ries tugging at my heart and it's gonna break beneath the strain While I'm sittin' here wondering where you are and listening to the rain. --- Instrumental --- My mind has got you pictured in the arms and in the heart of some new love I've tried to black it out but all my mind can see is him and you love Knowing that it might be true that's the thing that's causing all my pain While I'm a sittin' here wondering where you are and listening to the rain. While I'm a sittin' here wondering where you are and listening to the rain...
As good as it gets in any era. Time inertia or space. If youve ever experienced heartbreak of Any kind.this is the song. Thank you ,fan for decades, Sybil Cater
My dad wore out the Fastest Grass Alive album when I was little, so I know it's not from that one, but you should buy this album if you ever find a copy. It's fantastic.

That is THE high lonesome voice. Like you've never heard it before no matter how many times you've played it.
Now that's some good singing & playing!! Thanks

best harmony, and of course, my memories!
Wasn't this song recorded with Sonny's new six string banjo? I always loved the bass line in this tune.
According to Sonny, this was the first song they recorded with the 6 string
