Good for you for doing things you want to do! I got off birth control a couple years ago because iI just did not feel like myself after being on it for far too long... BEST THING EVER!!!!
I love that you shared your story about your period/birth control! I went through in the same exact thing last year. My period was completely normal through my entire teen years and then last year at 26 years old they got super heavy out of nowhere and just like you I was bleeding for 3-4 weeks at a time and then it would stop for a week or so and come right back. I was SO depressed and anxious all the time and genuinely felt like it was ruining my life. Last May I was bleeding so heavy I panicked and went to the ER and they told me if my hemoglobin levels were any lower I’d have to get a blood transfusion. I missed 2 weeks of work because I was bleeding so heavy I couldn’t leave my house and was so weak and tired. I was eventually diagnosed with endometriosis and have been on the pill ever since then and it’s been so much better! I understand birth control has side effects but I hate all the negativity and judgment around it online. It literally gave me my life back.
Hi bb! I went through a similar journey almost two years ago. I had severely painful cramps that came with horrible nausea and went on birth control my freshman year of high school to help with period cramps and hormonal acne. After being on bc for 12 years, I made the decision to go off of it. I will admit I was slightly influenced due to the bad rep of bc that isn't mentioned when one takes it. Bc has become so normalized, that a lot of women don't realize the affects it has on our bodies long term. Anyway, going off bc was one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. It did take a long time for my body to readjust to the change. I want to say it wasn't until 9-12 months after I stopped taking it that things started to feel more balanced; I started tracking my cycle and eating foods that supported the phase of my cycle I was in (luteal, follicular, ovulation, etc.) Naturally balancing my hormones has made all the difference. That being said, your skin will adjust to the change with time and so will your body. You will definitely feel more emotional throughout the month as opposed to experiencing a "numb-er" version that bc seems to give, but eating a balanced diet, exercising, and staying hydrated will definitely help. For me personally, I try to avoid dairy and coffee as it affects my hormones and it reflected on my skin. Here for you on this journey and happy to answer any questions. xoxo

Hey baybayhay, I just saw you vlog from February 2nd. Thanks for sharing your experience with the birth control. I never wanted to be on it because I was so anti birth control. After having surgery removing cyst and 6 fibroids. The doctor recommended for me to go on birth control. I have been on them for about 2 years. Since the surgery and with my periods the birth control has helped me.
You talking about your birth control journey definitely made me tear up a little bit😢Since I stopped taking my birth control, I have been having less panic attacks, I’ve been feeling more confident and I have definitely been having a lot more energy from when I was on my birth control.
Its going to be such a big adjustment getting of BC but it will be so nice once you feel regulated and your hormones can get back in check. Just take it day by day. You got this ! You’re so insightful and motivating. Maybe look into cycle syncing/tracking your ovulation ? I’m trying that now
I love it when you open up to us, those are the best moments. I often struggle with my self confidence and so this video was all I needed. I think I'm going to start listening to Ed's podcasts! 🤪❤ xx
That’s crazy you mentioned get off birth control, I literally just got mine taken out for good yesterday. I feel like I don’t know what my body is like without it and I’ve been stuck at the same weight for awhile so now I want to try working out with it gone 😊🎉
Omg hay, I experienced something similar. I found out I had endometriosis in high school ( it’s like giving birth every month smh lol) they told me I should take birth control but I was a bit scared and I never did. I’m so happy you were able to find something that worked for you. I’m still looking for something to work for me. Women’s body’s are truly temples 🙌🏽 Anywho catching up on all your videos right now. Just wanted to say hiii & that you look amazing as always 🥹❤
i get soooooo hype when you post! keep up the good work! & for the birth control, when i stopped taking it, i felt so much better, less moody, and feeling more myself. I'm glad you chose the natural route! I know you will not regret it😇
Few things! First of all, I really appreciate your honesty, and vulnerability as you shared your struggle with birth control. I feel like on social media not many people are genuine they just put up a fake appearance and I really love how you’re so genuine and sincere and open. It shows a lot about what kind of person you are, Hailey. 2. Cannot believe how far you’ve come with your health journey it’s incredible. 3. So for the birth control part, I am 18 years old and my period is not regular like I’ll skip a bunch of months so my doctor was thinking of putting me on birth control but my mom wants me to change my diet more before that. Do you think that eating habits affects someone’s period?
Thank you so much! I appreciate that. Truthfully I have no idea.. I’m not very educated on the whole thing so I’m trying to learn and experience it with my own body!
I was on birth control in high school and i went through the exact same thing!! I got off of it maybe a year later and felt so much better. I have 3 kids now and haven’t been on birth control since high school. I use a period tracker app to track my ovulation so I know when I’m most fertile. Also, listen to your body and notice the signs! People think I’m crazy for not going on birth control lol but I know my body and what’s best for me. I love your videos!! I always look forward to watching you 🥰
Hey, I just met you at Tivoli. I went back and looked at my IG messages. I messaged you in 2020. I saw you never seen. It was nice meeting you and your bf. Happy Valentines ❤
I so wanted to love ZO products, but they made me breakout. I am having good luck with Skinbetter Science and Osmosis products. So important to use good medical grade products for longevitiy of skin health!
Yes! I was totally in the same boat and it took my body a long time to figure it out. I knew it wasn’t right for my body. There were lots of moments of frustration and others telling me to go back on it, but I knew what I wanted and that I had to let my hormones free for once lol. Stay strong!
I got off my birth control! It’s been a year now and I feel a lot better, mentally. I feel my cramps so much more now which sucks but I got used to it eventually. ❤ Great video. Keep being positive, it’s very motivating.
I am so proud of you for taking such a big step in advocating for your health. Like you said, bc can be healthy and not using it can be healthy. It’s so personal! I struggled with some hormonal fluctuations and found a few herbs so helpful! Maca root and vitex berry helped me so much. I can’t speak to skin as I have rosacea but it REALLY helped my mood. Maca can increase fertility so I track my cycle and my husband knows when to stay away 🤣 but the combo has been a game changer in making me feel my best.
I have a daughter whom found at an early age that she has hypo thyroidizm, which effects the pubitary gland . She has been on birth control to regulate her periods . Some meds were created for a reason, so worries, no shame .❤
I am in the same boat when it comes to birth control. I started around the same age as you due to not having a period for multiple months, but I was having the worst cramps (I could barely walk when a cramp episode came on). Thank you for sharing your story. I have been thinking about getting off of it, but am nervous as to how my body will react. You are such an inspiration and I always get excited when you post new content. Thank you ❤
Thanks for sharing about birth control, I really didn’t think you were taking it except for extra clear skin 😋 ! I used to be on it since 17 because of my acne then stopped at 23 because I wanted to feel what it was to “be me” and it has been hard on my emotions, then got a big cyst and had a surgery and discovered I had endometriosis and PCOS. So I am now taking it again since 1 year and I can see that my emotions are more stable and predictable so I will keep taking it until I get kids. But it gives me headaches and I took 3 kg. My boobs are bigger and 0 acne which gives me confidence. But I must admit that now I am able to feel that I take hormones You should definitely try without, and get to know what it is, you’ll feel your body more BUT always remember that you are making a test, so if things get messy after 1 year like mood swings etc, remember that it might just be your hormones ❤ also don’t forget to regularly go by the gyn the check for any cysts or issue If people are interested, what happened is that I stopped taking it, then didn’t get my periods for 3-4 months and had acne for a few months but it cleared really fast. I had irregular cycle at 17 but I feel like taking the pill for so long had trained my body because at 23 when I stopped it, my cycles were perfect. 5 years later I started to have terrible pain in my belly, and they discovered I had a cyst as big as a tennis ball on my ovary. If I don’t take the pill, I will keep getting cysts and operations and maybe won’t be able to have kids because it’s gonna damage my ovaries. So taking the pill is saving my ovaries for later. They are on holidays now 😂 Hopefully it’s better for you without 🥰
I loved and appreciated this video! So glad u feel confident and proud of yourself. 💖🙏🏻🥰

I did the same thing with the pill several years ago and never looked back! I got a non hormonal copper IUD and I feel so good about it. :)

Pre-mama makes a birth control cleanse - you don’t need to be ttc to take it; it was so helpful when I went off 5 years ago
