The postcard with the little girl with ribbons in her hair is actually a little girl all dressed for bed, and her hair is in rag curls. Her hair is wrapped around a strip of cloth, and the cloth is then tied so her hair will be curly in the morning, possibly ringlets. How I know is because my Mom did that to me as a little girl. They were easy to sleep with. Great finds this week.

My mom did that to me too...I looked like Shirly Temple when she was done. Those rags on my head were no fun.

Hi Cousin! I've been binge watching your videos and I'm just loving your content. You've got a great attitude, and an even better sense of humor, and you're videos are very uplifting and inspiring! Anyway, after checking out your eBay listings, I have a few questions that I hope you can answer at some point. Or, If you've already covered this subject, maybe can you point me in the right direction! It would be appreciated! (Subs, feel free to weigh in!)
    1. How do you determine which listing platform to use for each item/lot? (example: Buy It Now, or Auction)
    2. With your "Buy It Now" items, how do you determine which items you're going to accept offers on?
    3. Have your listing practices changed as your business has grown? For example, when you first started out, did you pay to promote, or offer free shipping to build your customer base?

    • @wingolamo

Never mind! I just saw the video where you said you don't answer those questions. And I totally get it! Thanks anyway! Carry on! 🙂

Rusty, your cousin Joe, from Scotland. But i went to University in the 'Potteries' of Staffordshire England. My university accommodation was literally around the corner, from Wedgewood factory. Just across the road, from Spode. That ring. That decoration is known in the UK, as 'Jasper Ware' what Wedgwood, named it. Never seen a ring, Seen a lot else, but not jewellery. So that piece might be rare.

Cuzin rusty, You had the US Navy Shellback initiation right. As a retired US Navy Vet, I have heard of these initiations. They get really raw. I have witnessed Chief's initiation. The Navy can be really crude and rude. I worked on a large aircraft platform that did not go to sea so I have never experienced the sea going initiation. There is also an Arctic Circle initiation. Thanks for sharing this part of the Navy that is so special to the sea going sailors. Alos thank you for sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm. You do a great job of imparting your wisdom.

In the late 60s and early 70s it was very fashionable to add a charm to a watch. I remember silver and blue enamelled bluebird charms were the most common.

Hi, Rusty. I saw you had an old riding hat. That is older, and is not up to code to use any more. Not nearly enough protection. Current specs are closer to a bicycle helmet. Plus, if yiu have a serious crash, they have to be sent in to be checked.
Definitely not like the old days when we rode bikes and skateboards without hmets and pads.

Thanks so much, Rusty! I do have a question. How can you tell if a piece like the bird brooch is sterling silver underneath the plate of gold? I do know how to test metals with my acid kit but would you have to scratch down past the gold to get to the silver to test it or is there another way with damaging the piece?

Love the hats! English riding helmet. 🐴 :)
The other hats may do well with Halloween coming up although they look like the real deal so hopefully you get the best ROI.
Halloween is the second biggest holiday when it comes to to spending, Christmas is first of course.
    Happy selling, cousin!
