    I'm looking for a way to make a simple cow's horn drinking cup. Some years ago I went to an antique store and found simple drinking cups that were flat on the bottom and no bigger than 8"or smaller, but all of them were out of cow horn, without embellishments..... and they were ( mostly ) dark in color.

      Tandy has some but I would only buy on site the ones I can hand pick, ren fairs usually have some great ones but they are pricey and crazy crow online has good prices and good horns but can be hit and miss sometimes. Horns for me are a target of opportunity. I buy them when I find them and I'll have them when I need them.

    That is sweet. I'm so gonna try this. Approximately what length horn will hold 12oz beer?

    • @MakersMovementDIY
      @MakersMovementDIY  5 лет назад

      There is no real way to tell. It depends highly on the length of the horn, the girth, the thickness of the horn walls, and how much of the tip is solid. To be safe go bigger and cut it down to size when you shape the rim. Hope that helps.

    I was told that you would not be able to drink anything hot out of the horn if you only seal it with wax...is there another way to seal the inside that would make it safe to use with both hot and cold liquid? Thank you

    • @MakersMovementDIY
      @MakersMovementDIY  4 года назад

      If you can get some food grade epoxy that might work for hot stuff. check the label for any heat or cold limitations. The horn will get very hot if you are drinking hot liquids from it. Possible too hot to hold. I only drink mead, beer and water out of mine so bee wax is perfect.
