    I look forward to learning the rest. I'm installing Ferrites onto my lines and will be putting multiple T.R.A.P. devices on my system..I have backup AC/DC inverter, MPPT controller and a battery Charge controller in faraday Bags. Placed into my faraday Garbage can . I am using the Nesting approach to protecting my gear.
    Example:
    1)Keep electronic device in cardboard box it came in.
    2) Wrap box like gift with 6 layers of aluminum foil.
    3) Place item into EMP bag. And fold tape bag closed.
    4) Place bag into 50 cal ammo can. If to big for can add 6 more layers of foil
    5) Place item into EMP garbage can
    Note ( The garage can has had any and all places that have pierced by screws, rivits in the can covered with aluminum Tape to prevent wave from entering. Then cardboard on the inside of can. Then a huge EMP bag inserted into can think like a trash bag in the can)
    6) lable item so you can know what it is on outside of bad
    7) Place EMP bag into garbage can and seal EMP bag by folding a few times and use masking tape or clear tape to seal.
    8)Place lid on can
    9) Using aluminum Tape seal lid to can to make complete seal.
    Lable outside of can of contents in can.
    I hope this gives people some ideas.
    Using the he nesting method I think is best and not very costly. More layers are always better.

      Also cover with aluminum Tape on the inside and outside any rivits or screws that may have pierced the can to prevent wave from entry. Additionally, after to insert item into ammo can, use metal tape to seal each half of ammo can to give a secure seal.

      I am in the process of doing exactly what you are doing.
      My question is, my MPPT controller is programmed using Bluetooth. Can I use a tablet downloaded with Bluetooth then put it in a faraday can and be able to use it on that fateful day?

    If you have a package of diods you can replace them and have your panels up and running again

    I knew they had diodes to keep the electricity from flowing backward, but I did not know the relationship of shade on different parts of the panel affecting the diodes. Keep it coming.

      Does an EMP have an effect on panels that are not connected to anything? Thought only microchips and closed circuits were in danger.

    Question: I have an 8 panel array on top of my tin roof. I will unhook the pv lines from them to lessen the blow of an emp. But I also have the panel frames connected and run down a 25ft ground wire to a 8ft deep grounding rod. I would think this would be good to give the volts somewhere to go into the Earth? Or should I unhook it as well?

      Disconnecting would help, being grounded “may” not depending on your soils conductivity. Some even recommend floating panels (not grounded)!! Way too much information to properly answer in a comment.

    You answered a couple questions I had. Thank you.
    I do have one question I’m not sure if you’ll have the answer to considering that most questions about EMP survival are theoretical at best .
    My question is I have a 1.2 kW system not including to wind turbines sitting downstairs in my basement behind two layers of brick, and one layer of concrete block there roughly 5 feet below ground is this enough to keep my charge controller safe from all three forms of EMP or do I need a cage?

      Hard to say with any certainty, lots of variables. Best practice would be to faraday spare electrical components. Thanks for watching and commenting!

      Your charge controller will not be protected if it is connected to any feed. Wiring will bring an EMP directly through anything that is plugged into grid source.

      There are also no wires in the cage

    I try to tell people when they ask if something will survive an EMP it depends on a lot of variable’s. But there is a ton of misinformation & way too simplistic views on EMP thanks for this video serious

    Please explain again why solar panels must be vertical instead of horizontal.

      They can be horizontal but vertical is best for most panels and applications. I’ll explain further in another video.

    Thank you for this, I look forward to the rest. Question please: the solar panels I purchased came already wired with connectors so they could be connected together. I have them in storage, not connected to anything. Should these connectors be removed so the panels are wireless to protect them from emp? Thank you.

      Check the wire length. Most factory wiring on panels is less than 36”. Even with the factory wiring in place there’s a very low risk of damage if the panels aren’t in use or hooked up to a longer wire run. Hope this helps!

    What is the use of having solar if you have to disconnect it for them to survive, do I have time to disconnect them to save the system

      Protection strategies are going to be featured in future videos. Your solar power system can be hardened to reduce/eliminate the effects of an EMP. Lots of information to cover.
      Some folks don’t have extensive knowledge of solar power and I’m trying not to exclude anyone by going full nerd mode right at the beginning!

      I mean that, the only way to protect is if we had advanced warning, at least 15 minutes, but I do have emp shield, it's all about the money right, most of us solar people don't have a backup system, can't afford it

      With no protection components in place, yes you’d need advance warning which probably wouldn’t happen!
      Agree 💯 that solar power folks usually don’t have backup since they already have tons of $$$ tied up in their system!
