Looks pretty nice. One thing to note (which you can see in the video) is that Saris makes their racks in the U.S. (Wisconsin) which I really like.

Looks like the metal part of the lock will bang on the frame. Another bike rack review that reinforces how much I enjoy the 1Up USA rack that I have. At least they tried to copy the best, but missed the mark. As always an informative review style.

I purchased this rack a few months ago for my Trek Verve2+ e-bike. Love it! Very well made. I had driven it on the expressway quite a few miles and never a problem. I also have the ramp which I use to load the e-bike cuz it is somewhat heavy and makes it easier to load for someone with a lousy back. My only comment is....I wish the wheel block were on the left side, so I could load the bike from the right which is more natural for right handed people.

The new rack from 1Up-USA, their equip-D model has a fat tire spacer included, and is $70 less
The regular 1Up-USA is $230 cheaper (E-Bike Model "Super Duty" is $200 cheaper) and a fat tire spacer is $34 extra
Sure you might have to add the locks separately, but they are just $16.15 -a-piece
Oh, and the 1Up-USA add-ons are $156 cheaper for one bike or $212 cheaper for two bikes.
This is the mega rich man's 1Up-USA, without the quality

@@NoBrakes23 Not sure Saris is low quality, just that the 1Up-USA has such a reputation for an established quality that the Saris has a very high bar to clear

Saris is definitely not low quality. I've been rear ended and my rack survived with minimal damage, and their customer service is top notch. 1Up is still the best, but Saris is definitely better than other brands like Thule and Kuat. I'd rank Saris second to 1Up in quality, but still really good

nice rack but my 1up super duty does not wiggle like that . I haul a 60# juiced RCS ebike . this rack is nice but it's all the plastic in the long run will bite you. 1up parts are so easily replaceable . great review !

Clint that wheel chock is in the way. Without it...(like the 1up) it allows you to move the bike forward or backward so no interference. Now the rack to get is the Mach 2. That is what I would get if my 1up ever breaks....which it won’t 🙄

I'll give the Saris its due. It looks like a solid product, and I appreciate the US manufacture. Not enough to woo me away from my sturdy 1up solo, but it looks like a good product. Those wheel blocks on the Saris are why you couldn't put the gravel bike in symmetrically.
My 1up has been through hell, been rear ended twice, (Thankfully without a bike onboard,) and never let me down. Look forward to seeing your review of the 4 bike version.

I've had the Bike rack for a year but use my bikes around town and local trail so seldom use the rack. I have had a bike come out of the tire tray while coming back on a dirt road with some washboards on it. My "E"Bike does have a fender that keeps the back tire from being into the tire fork as far as you show in the video. Is the strap around the tire the "fix" for that?
I've also had a problem with the tightness of the fork in the receiver and the screw in pin has to be very tight in order to secure it. The bottle cap opener appendage has broken from the pin already during the tightening process. So I guess I need a new pin now after just a few uses. Overall I like the rack and it handles the weight of my 2 bikes well.

1up has some bad reviews with 2 heavy ebikes on it. Would wonder how this one compares. Also 2 arm racks like this are less than ideal for bikes with fenders so really work best for fenderless. The Kuat NV is likely better if you have fenders.

I've had the Saris MTR 1 since, Aug. 2020 and I'm not 100% confident with this rack. First, I find it wobbly and I think that's due to the trays being two separate pieces so they can fold in that odd upright position. Not sure of the function or advantage of this other than packing it in the box? Not questioning the rack to the hitch because that is very solid! Secondly, there's been many times that the arms back off the tires while I'm transporting even though, I've made sure the arms have locked tightly into place. I think one of the issues is that chock on the tray can't be adjusted and maybe perhaps, the arms can't engage fully and can't place the bike in the ideal position (for my bikes). Because of the chock placement, I could not use the 27.5 adjustment on the arms for my mtb and to also carry my road bike. So, I had to bring the arm adjustments down to the 26" level and this seems to work ok on the mtb and road without having to change that adjustment every time I switched bikes. but, I have to finagle it each time my road bike goes on. The cord lock I find is way too short. The only way I can utilize it is threading it through the chain ring...it is not long enough to wrap around the down tubes or bottom bracket. For the most part, since it's so compact, I've left it on my truck. Not sure if it's attributed to the weather (I'm in FL) but, the plastic housings that encase the pivot areas of the arms are separating, the plastic handle of the release mech to fold up or down the rack has fallen off and the metal release handles to engage/disengage the arms have now become very loose and sometimes difficult to engage(waiting for it fail soon). I have yet, to have the shop take a look at the rack to see if it may warrant a Saris Warranty, though. I've owned many Saris Racks in the past 15 years and still have have a SuperClamp 4 Bike, which is still going strong after 6-7 years. Prior to buying this MTR 1...I had purchased the Thule Helium 1 but, that failed after only 3 weeks (that's another story). I've been debating whether to replace this with a Saris Superclamp EX 2 or try my luck with another platform rack, like the 1-Up? But, whatever I decide, this MTR will be replaced soon. It was only just a few months ago that I came across your channel. So, thanks for time that it takes to put up your content.

@@ClintGibbs I've never heard of company but, I just pulled it up. That looks pretty good! If I can hold off on a new rack, I'll keep an eye on your review. Actually, yes, I have taken that chock off. It's just two little torx screws. You can position the bike up and down the tray but, especially with my mtb tires, that front end moves quite a bit from side to side (you think it would be the road tire?). With me having issues with the arms backing off. I haven't been comfortable transporting without that chock wedging the front tire. The Thule Helium that I had for a few weeks was just a straight tray with no chock and the front end didn't have the movement like the Saris does with that chock off. it was solid. I'm sure it's probably not going anywhere but, it's already in my head that I don't trust the rack.
