Do you have the retail package upgrade on your shopify account? This is now included with Shopify and Shopify Advanced plans (not included in Shopify basic plan). The only other thing (if you definitely have the correct model printer) is that the cable is not compatible.
You could try resetting the printer just in case - turn the printer power off, hold down feed button, turn printer power back while holding feed, when lights flash let go of feed button. Should print test receipts.
Till Man I’ve discovered the problem to be from outdated software. I updated the filmware on iPad and worked fine. I used an old iPad I had lying around for ages that hadn’t seen an update for a while. Hope may help anyone with similar issues. Thanks again!
Wont connect for me, shopify support cant help, Star micronics cant help, what am I doing wrong, everythings up to date, Ipad, IOS, Shopify all updated. Using original, new lightning cable, ?? Do you have to be connected to router? Or just plug printer straight into ipad?
You plug the printer into the ipad direct straight from the usb A port on the printer into the lightning charging port on the ipad - doesnt need any network connection. Are you on the $79 month shopify plan? Is the printer a version TSP100iii? What version ipad do you have?
@@Till-Man I'm not on the $79 pm plan I thought it changed to the basic/Shopify plan to allow for POS receipt printers? Saw that somewhere recently. Could be wrong. My printer is the TSP143IIU GRY US ECO, I have a fairly new Ipad 9.7", I think 2017
@@centerimpact I just had a look at www.shopify.com/pricing and it still says on there that hardware (receipt printers, cash draws, etc) is only supported on the $79 plan and up. Also the TSP143iiu did not have the USB A connector for connecting to the lightning port (at least not the ones that I have seen), so I think you would need the version iii printer. The ipad shoud work fine. @@Till-Man Thank you I apreciate your help. So yes, I do have those ports on mine, and it works perfectly with square (I meant to type TSP143IIIU), I suppose I just have to pay the $79 monthly. Very unfortunate since I just use the POS for a few events per year

With the Tsp 143 can you print from Safari or Chrome in the iPad ?

No it will not. Needs to be the lightning version only on the latest release.
What about connecting multiple printers to a single ipad? If we want all of the printers to print at the same time.
That would need to be a feature of whatever software/app you are using on the ipad

Hey. I tried plugging in the lightening cable however my shopify acccount doesn’t show the printer as connected. Any ideas how I can fix this?

Is it possible to change the receipt layout?
In Notifications you can edit the pos and mobile receipts template
@@Till-Man There's no Notification. The only related thing I see is Settings > customise receipts and there's only a few things that is customisable.
@@ethiea_ Its not in Shopify POS, its in your actual shopify admin page. Click Settings down the bottom then Notifications
Its code though so make sure you take a backup copy before you change things.
