This actually a pretty sad part of Vader that I didn't know of, wearing a survival suit that he hated because he needs it. Only eating food even if was painful and top it all off, regretting his life choices that led him to the Sith Lord he became and never ever seeing the children he didn't know that existed until the end of his life. I just reread Shadows of the Empire, and there are a few scenes where he tries to heal himself, and each time it progresses to a certain point where Vader is actually breathing on his own, without assistance of any kind, but then he can't sustain his darker emotions (rage, hatred, etc.), and he loses his grip on any progress he's made. He begins to feel pride in what he's accomplishing, relief in being able to breathe without the mask, or even peace at the idea of healing himself - and all 3 of those are light-sided emotions.

This is the best Star Wars YT channel. Not just because of the high quality, straight-to-the-point videos. But also because of the civil and hilarious subscribers in the comment’s section.
Also, when I was a teenager, I really wanted to join Vader’s Tennis team. But I never had enough time to practice. So when the tryouts came, I was unsurprisingly rejected by Lord Vader himself. I was left breathless.

This actually a pretty sad part of Vader that I didn't know of, wearing a survival suit that he hated because he needs it. Only eating food even if was painful and top it all off, regretting his life choices that led him to the Sith Lord he became and never ever seeing the children he didn't know that existed until the end of his life. I still feel bad at times for Vader.

I just reread Shadows of the Empire, and there are a few scenes where he tries to heal himself, and each time it progresses to a certain point where Vader is actually breathing on his own, without assistance of any kind, but then he can't sustain his darker emotions (rage, hatred, etc.), and he loses his grip on any progress he's made. He begins to feel pride in what he's accomplishing, relief in being able to breathe without the mask, or even peace at the idea of healing himself - and all 3 of those are light-sided emotions.
