Buy Dale's Blades Here ► facebook.com/dale.wyman.7 or email wymanda46@comcast.net Dale is selling the exact same blades that I make and fish in all of my videos, but the proceeds are going into an account for his granddaughter. His son passed away at age 35, so Dale is selling the blades to make sure that his granddaughter is taken care of. Please take the time to check out these blades and buy them from Dale if you're looking to buy some blade baits!
After watching your videos a few years ago blade’s are it!! Have put a bunch of smallmouth in the boat. Now I don’t go out unless I have a box full. I experienced making my own blades last winter and painting different colors and found that putting a spot above the front hook was the trick. Now I gotta try the feather on the back treble hook. Keep up the great videos Ben 👍
All I have to say is I know Dale. Buy his blades. It just makes sense, regardless of circumstance this man's passion for fishing only creates fish catching lures...
To keep the blade bait flipping over on the line, I have had success using a stiffer mono leader. 20# is usually stiff enough to keep the blade from flipping over itself.
Good stuff man. Blades rule up here in the Northeast during the cold water period. I start using them around 50 degrees all the way down to ice up. The only thing different I do is fish them on a 6'10" medium jerkbait casting rod👍👊
Just wanted to say, I love your channel brother! I fish the river system here in Va. Smallmouth are my favorite too... keep bringing it brother and God Bless
I was one of those guys that ran a shorter Leader and still do at times in the summer months but no matter the knot i tied it just always seemed to catch one of the guides but now running a longer leader i dont have that issue anymore
Hey Ben, I've recently started fishing blades. Lots of fun! I see everyone uses fluro to braid leaders. I fish in a spot with tons of snags and break off a lot. I got tired of tying on leaders (and losing blades) and decide to tie my blades on straight fluro to a snap swivel. Spooling my reels with fluro. In my situation, it's hard to break braid and also risk cracking my rod. I've had no issues setting a hook, sensitivity, or keeping them pinned. I also have been fishing in a canal in very cold temps and everyone is having issues with their braid freezing. I guess my question is, what's the point? I'm excited to try blade fishing in open water this coming spring at one of my favorite fishing holes that's filled with big walleye and smallmouth. I was hoping you can change my mind about not using a leader. Thanks!
Thoughts on a loop knot tied directly to the lure? Imakatsu chatter bait got rubber on the hooks, tried it on lipless too on both hooks...never occurred to me to try it on my blades. Great idea.
Hi Ben...I like using baitcast all the way around and would like to know what length, power and action that you would use with a baitcasting outfit...thanks!
Great tips. Was thinking of putting a feathered treble or bladed hook on before I saw the video. Have you ever put scent on the feather? I'll use a blade to catch active fish or excite the school then change up to another bait type most of the time before I try deadstickin/shaking.
Great tips, Mr. Nowak! Awesome video! Have you ever tried shaking or flipping a blade on beds? Wondering if it’s worth trying as something fish probably won’t have seen at that time of year.
Hey, really enjoy the content. Keep up the good work. I fish the Susquehanna river for smallmouth and walleye, and in the cold weather months a blade bait is one of my favorites. The Susquehanna is full of snags and I go through baits like crazy. So I got the do-it mold and have been making my own. But I struggle with the do-it blade bait compared to other models with the hooks grabbing the line and the lure getting fouled. I typically fish 1/2 ounce blades on 10lb 100% floro, between 10' and 20' depth. I've played with components and line tie placement but am still scratching my head. Any recommendations? Do you ever fish them in rivers or around current? And was just curious if this was a common thing or caused by a specific variable?
Hey! It should link to Dales Facebook, but you can also reach him at wymanda46@comcast.net He’s super responsive and will get back to you shortly. Thank you so much!!!
I wish I had this vid before i went out and purchased a bunch of blades a week or two ago . Still experimenting on what blades I like best . So not that big of a deal .
I use a Med-light spinning rod for blades catching saugeye all the time with a light drag🔥🎣 My. buddy used a medium rod with a tighter drag and lost way more fish last week than I did😂 Great tips man I love your channel bud! Keep it up!

This was worth the wait. So many good tips in here. Makes me want to get out one last time before she gets tucked away for the winter.
Thank you William! I know - I want to get out one or two more times

Hey..... Thank you for the advanced tips. Definitely took a few nuggets away on this one. 👊🏼
Thank you for checking out the video man!

Dude this is some great information and something I need to get better at especially this time of year.
Thank You Benjamin! 🎣🎣👍
Thank you for everything Dale!
Great video, love the talk

Thank you! That’s another way to do it - the key is just that softer rod - it keeps fish pinned better than a MH
Great info Ben and so cool that your trying to help Dale!
Thanks Victor!!!
Excellent!!
Awesome tips I started using heavy wire snap if I get a blade bait that hook my line a lot seemed to help but I'm still learning
That’s a good thought - I never thought about it, but that could help too!
Appreciate the awesome tip's Ben!!
Thanks for watching Mike!
Awesome info Ben, appreciate the share!
Thank you Mechele!
Would you add the spin treble to the front or back?
Just wanted to say, I love your channel brother! I fish the river system here in Va. Smallmouth are my favorite too... keep bringing it brother and God Bless
Thank you so much Mike! Hopefully some of this info helps you out!!!
God bless my dude!
Great info keep it up! Thanks
Thank you Troy

Yeah, I’ll fish a leader shorter too sometimes too. I was shocked how much the longer leader helped though!
Great tips Ben, really enjoying the channel re-vamp
Thank you Zach!
New sub! Loving the channel. Especially all your Garnin info. Thanks
Thanks Matt! More Garmin videos coming soon
Thats a nice hoodie!!
Thanks my dude :-)

The only concern I’d have is the blade cutting the line because the blade isn’t really bored out for that
The Smallmouth Experience I must that bored to round out my eyelets😂. Have a great one.
Hi Ben...I like using baitcast all the way around and would like to know what length, power and action that you would use with a baitcasting outfit...thanks!
Hey - I'd use a crankbait/softer style rod. A 7'4 Medium or MH with a moderate action
Great tips. Was thinking of putting a feathered treble or bladed hook on before I saw the video. Have you ever put scent on the feather? I'll use a blade to catch active fish or excite the school then change up to another bait type most of the time before I try deadstickin/shaking.
I’ve never tried the scent in the feather - that’s an interesting concept though!
What bait do you use to follow up a blade once it gets tough?
@@brnowak_fishing ned rig, tube, spoon or ice jig. Here it seems the colder it is the more vertical you have to be.
Great tips, Mr. Nowak! Awesome video! Have you ever tried shaking or flipping a blade on beds? Wondering if it’s worth trying as something fish probably won’t have seen at that time of year.
Hey Tim - I’ve never tried it. A lot of times I don’t like using Treble baits when bed fishing because I run the risk of foul hooking the fish

I am going to kill you 😂😂 good tips man. Been a fun journey dialing this pattern in
Haha whoops...if I go missing though, now people know who to investigate!
Feathered Treble huh... Sounds like a Sheldon scientific thing.... LOL
Ben how do you paint your blades?
I made a fluid bed for powder paint, heat the blade with a heat gun, dip it in the powder and then bake it at 300 for 30 min
Get rid of the split rings. Run 4959 vmc 9608 bz clip in treble. Less fouling
hey man i tried to buy some of dales blade baits but it said the link could not be reached is there another way i could buy them?
Hey! It should link to Dales Facebook, but you can also reach him at wymanda46@comcast.net
He’s super responsive and will get back to you shortly.
Thank you so much!!!
Your gonna be the next Billy Westmoreland
Haha I had to look that name up :-)
Sorry Ben he is the blade master here in Tennessee I've got a vhs tape (pre DVD) of him that's how old
I wish I had this vid before i went out and purchased a bunch of blades a week or two ago . Still experimenting on what blades I like best . So not that big of a deal .
There are a ton of good blades out there! They all have little nuances too where one can work better than other in certain situations
I use a Med-light spinning rod for blades catching saugeye all the time with a light drag🔥🎣 My. buddy used a medium rod with a tighter drag and lost way more fish last week than I did😂 Great tips man I love your channel bud! Keep it up!
Lol thank you Ryan! I’m a big advocate for the super light drag now after seeing the success this season
Hey Ben !!!..... I don’t believe that link for Dale is working !!
Thanks for the heads up. I also added his email for people who don’t have Facebook
dales page isnt working
Sorry about that, let’s try now :-). I also added his email for people who don’t have Facebook
Thanks for the heads up
