March 14 does not have significance to the international math community because the USA is one of the few places that use the month/day format for dates.
Ok, so I drive for Uber for a few hours a day and was driving two girls to Clearwater Beach Florida yesterday when one of them told me about this "special day" called Pie day. Now mind you, I understood Pie. Not Pi! Could have been because I was hungry. But I digress. Anyway! So, me wanting to roll with the small talk to make the long drive short I replied with, "I wasn't aware of a PIE DAY. I love pie. What kind of pie? Pecan is my favorite." The laughter by these two could have probably been heard outside the car and a few car lanes over. It continued for the rest that 30 minute trip off and on between breathing breaks. I thought they would pass out or pee on my car seat from all the laughter. When they finally managed to catch their breath long enough to speak they explained it was not that kind of pie. It's the math Pi/3.14!🤯"Oh!"I said, with complete confusion/embarrassment! Felt like a complete dumb a** in front of these young girls after they explained it to me. They weren't rude about it. They were good kids/played it off to make me feel better. I mean, who ever heard of anyone dedicating a day to math? DON'T ANSWER THAT! 😉🤣 Well, at least I got a $7 tip out of it. I was really hoping they thought I was joking with them and they paid me for the comedy routine. See folks! There's a silver lining in every dark cloud. 😉Now who wants some real pie?! All of this talk of pie has me hungry again! 🤣
Here's a new pi day video, it uses basic applied cryptography to look for a message in PI as Carl Sagan proposed in his book Contact. It's in the first 200 digits and it's real. The video is only about six minutes long, 314 GOD Pi Speaks Jesus is Lord The Tutorial
It’s only Pi day here in the USA because we write the month first. Most of the rest of the world will have to wait until the 22nd of July to celebrate pi
Yes, my favorite day of the year!!! Sorry, I forgot not everyone is a nerd like me. 🤓 3.1415926535897932385626433 is where I memorized pi up to. I used to remember over 100 digits, not anymore...
You wasted your time because 3.1415926535897932385626433 is not π. In fact, if you did nothing for the rest of eternity but continue to measure π, you would at any given time still be at 0% complete. π has no measure. I laugh at those ignorant math professors who call it a number because there is no number that describes the measure of π. *A number is a name given to a measure that describes a magnitude or size* The above and NOTHING else.
@@NewCalculus Memorizing pi is not "wasting your time" if you find it fun. Also, you clearly don't have a great understanding of mathematics, have you heard of an approximation? You only need 39 digits of pi to calculate the circumference of the entire observable universe to a margin of error of 1 hydrogen atom. Pi is indeed a number, and that is a fact. You mist not have paid attention in school, and what you said about being 0% complete makes no sense.
and no matter how many "digits" you memorise, what you'll know is NOT a number that describes the measure of π because π has no measure. Not even the gods can measure π! Chuckle.
HOW TO FIND THE EXACT EXACT EXACT CIRCUMFERENCE OF CIRCLE . Procedure Step 1. Draw a square, 2 diagonals and inscribe a circle in the square. Thereby side and diameter will be the same Step 2 : Subtract 2 diagonals from the perimeter of square Step3. Divide step2 with 8 Step4. Add 3 times of the side. to Step 3 At the end we get the EXACT circumference of the inscribed circle
Hi! I’m trying to get 10l digits of pi (so far 60) for a thing at my school. One tip is to go to like a google doc, and copy and paste digest from somewhere. Once you know you have a certain couple of digits, highlight them. I know this is useless, but you can brag to your friends so hay
What is π? A magnitude? A number? A constant? The most accurate description of π is that it is a constant approximate measure that is realised when attempting to measure a circle's circumference using its diameter as unit. There is no magnitude π. There is no number π. A constant rational number is realised in any failed attempt at measure of the ratio circumference length : diameter length. Search for "answers to LinkedIn Poll on π" Like the geometry from which π is realised, π is a *noumenon* - meaning it exists as a concept that is realised from the *attempted measure* of any circle's periphery using its diameter as unit of measure. π exists whether anyone ever thought of it or not and continues to exists perpetually just like geometry or any other well-formed concept. The rot that is found in mainstream mathematics courses on set theory, topology and axioms are anti-mathematical garbage.
🤕🤯No offense professor. I don't hate math. I hear it's the language of the universe. However, math has never been my strong suit. I do however admire it from afar.😉Fascinated by quantum theory/physics, quarks etc.. The invisible world that creates the world around us and beyond.
Also, don't forget: Pie aren't square. Pie are round

22/7 does not equal pi. 355/113 is a much better approximation.
There aren't 113 months in a year
