It's so awesome to see your little boy throw a baitcaster landing his bait inches from the bank.... ON A KAYAK!! I recently just got my first Bonafide kayak and there is def a learning curve to casting while sitting on a small boat. Good job man!
Some of the best fishing advice for kids I've ever heard on RUclips @ 21:52. Getting kids excited to be outside is far more important than making them do what we think will "work". You can't ever get them to catch fish if you can't get them interested in being outside. Same thing with hunting.

We( my kids and I) fish out of both bass boats and kayaks, the boys prefer to fish out of the kayaks. they feel more open to fish where they want with what they want. my boys started in kayaks when they were 6 and haven't looked back. good job on introducing him at such a young age.

Caught my PB smallmouth 21 inch 5.25 pd. on that exact prank. It absolutely slays on my waters I fish. It actually will dive dwn maybe a foot or two and works like a square bill. A very slow jerky retrieve makes it look like a wounded bait fish. Pop it then slowly reel and twitch. Works awesome for me. 🤙🏻
Love fishing out of a kayak so much so did I join kbf and fish all across the country now out of my kayak. A lot of my fishing is in the Northeast even though I live in Arizona. And I'm headed to the national championship at Lake Guntersville in Alabama first weekend in April. Fishing out of a kayak is a blast! And now I don't have any more power boats! Not bad for a 71 year old or soon to be in another month! LOL! Oh and by the way letting your son just paddle around rather than insist on him fishing is the best thing you could do!

Understand Fork pretty much sux right now but the ole H&H has saved several days for me.
