Thanks Auto Express, thanks for your duperb free content as always. Congrats to the new guy for doing fairly good interview. Pitty too, that they haven't fit 350-400 v6 in there with rear bius 4wd. Imagine how many Macan drivers it would take away from Porsche. and that should have been for 50k+, not a 4 cylinder lol
Why are its rear wheels not aligned with the wheel wells? They're slightly offset towards the front. That's annoying.

This Jag looks pretty awesome I have to say , and the Jaguar iPace is phenomenal!
It's very nice and I would pick it over all the rest in this class particularly the Mercedes GLA and Audi Q3

Kushal Betgov nope I love BMW’s and I’m not a fan of jag, but this is better than the x1, there are some annoying plastics in the x1 that the jag just doesn’t have which is disappointing in a bmw.

I like the looks but I still have to wonder at why is it so heavy, it's weight is on par with that of it's bigger brother the F Pace and 500 lbs more the than it's chassis mate the Evoque

Same gearbox as focus RS but this is automatic and the RS is manual
I believe his reference to "transmission" is just a way of saying all wheel drive system.
He means the drivetrain and not exactly the transmission

NO it's not!! this car uses a ZF 9 speed auto the focus RS is a 6 speed manual! don't comment on cars you know nothing about.
It's interesting, the E-Pace is a kind of archaeological dig. You scratch the badge away to find it was an evoque, go further to find a Freelander 2 and then further you eventually get to a ford mondeo. Nice car though.
Do you have a source for that?
Edit - nevermind, got it. Yeah it seems to be riding on an update from the old Ford era days, but the thing with chassis platforms and their designations is, I believe, that they give you a false sense of what it is. I'm sure some elements were brought forth from the 2000s Mondeo days, but I hope people dont have the impression that there is much of that DNA left despite the archaeological dig showing that lineage.

Power of Pine Sol Evoque is riding on a largely untouched chassis from 2010. I'd be the updates JLR made to this F Pace are quite substantial to help maintain relevance in today's market, and bring those to the Evoque as well at some point to do the same for it.

Would've been perfect with an inline 6 cylinder under the bonnet. I will skip these little 4 cylinder options on steroids. Beautiful car but I would rather get the I Pace.
The front fascia not as aggressive what Jaguar is
It's an evoque with a jaguar body. Wouldn't touch one though cause of the poor reliability ratings of both jaguar and land rover. Nice to look at but a problem to own one.
Those front headlamps really don’t do the car any favours. Look like they came out of eighties leyland parts bin.
If British Leyland still existed and wanted to launch this years Allegro as a cross over.......

I like the E-Pace but I think Jaguar did a fantastic job with the F-Pace instead. It is difficult to justify for the E-pace higher sticker price (no apple car play, no android car play, cheap materials, poor mpg, sub par engines, sluggish infotainment). Ian Callum does a decent job with the design but Jaguar needs to step back and tweak lot of different things to bring it back to competition. Jaguar seriously need to work on their pricing and if they want to be called a premium brand they should use high end material (leather, wood) to make the cabin look much better. You cannot compete with merc, bmw and audi with substandard materials. Another thing, they might have got a little better with reliability from where they were under FORD but it still needs lot of other detailing to gain customer confidence. People whoever wants to buy a Jaguar, the first question they ask before anything else is how reliable is Jaguar even though with a 5 yr/60 K warranty

Like other jaguars the exterior beats the interior. How can any luxury car release without Apple/Android?
Looks ok outside but good god Jaguar hasn't a clue how to build great interiors. its dull 90's japan interior cannot compete with the virtual cockpit inspired superb cabin in the Q3 let alone the panache of the Peugeot or even the eccentricity of the Mercedes.

Doesn't look like a Jag; looks like a Mazda or any other smallish CUV. It'll sell in larger numbers, but it's somewhat sad to me that it's all coming down to this style of car these days.

It might be better to look at than the rest, but there was no point making this a Jag. Why to repeat the X Type saga? It will work, but will definitely make the brand an average brand.

If it was anything but a Jag, the interior would be fine I suppose. But as it is, it just doesn't cut the mustard. Looks like any other generic midlevel SUV out there. And with the exception of the XJ, Jag cabin design has been quite awful now for many years. JLR just went too far in trying to 'modernise' Jaguar interiors to the point that their as indistinct and drab as their South Korean and Japanese counterparts. Even Peugeot (and stablemate Range Rover) have nicer looking interiors nowadays!

E-Pace is nicer than X1, GLA or Q3 but 3008 is still ahead all of them. Its incredible how Peugeot succeeded to make it so well.

I think jaguar are making a massive mistake in design by not bringing the hood or bonnet right to the front instead of leaving it 6 inches short and having that grotesque ugly join in the most important part of the car as far as design goes , they do not do it on all the Range Rover models so why the Jag ???????? it gives it a weakened look and also heightens any misalignment .

I am not british but most definitely you are pronouncing wrong F-Pace and E-Pace. That's a big thumbs down.
What you're hearing is a Northern Irish accent, and whilst the pronunciation is inconsistent with textbook RP, it's still perfectly valid. To say it's definitely wrong is an overstatement.
He is British and he is pronouncing these words properly.
