- Latest look at the construction of the $1.5 billion George Lucas Museum of Narrative Art.
The museum is situated in Exposition Park and down the street from USC where George Lucas studied film.
-solar panels now look complete situated on the west side of museum
-Park grounds next to the museum looking filled with plant life, as well as soil now on the roof top for more green space.
-Delayed and now scheduled for completion in 2025.

They've made great progress. I'm positive people will end up referring to it as the Spaceship museum because it looks like one out of either SW or ST. Thanks for the update.
I forgot the Natural History Museum was also getting renovated along with the new Space Shuttle museum. Very exciting stuff.
Of course, we also have the new LACMA museum being constructed too.
By the time the 2028 Olympics are in town, many of our most important myseums will be accessible via LA Metro rail. That's so cool.

It will be a very impressive place which will become very popular with locals and visitors. From the air it resembles the bottom of a man's shoe but on ground level it will be quite a sight.
don't forget the lift of the Space Shuttle to vertical to connect the fuel tank

I had no idea any of this was going on! As far as I knew, that old swimming stadium was still there. The only thing I knew about was the space shuttle being repositioned.

it blows my mind how San francisco failed to secure this. another blow for that city, its just a city that will never recover, the last great city of the country turned into total trash.
now i wish they could build a better transit station that can handle more people to get into all nearby museums. Current Metro one sucks..
They didn't have that one when I was younger.
How does it suck? It's an E line station. That serves USC and Exposition Park. I've used it many times to get to both places, and it's perfectly fine. Only time it can get overcrowded are during special events like games. When that happens, LA Metro usually runs trains more often.

Lol i passed this place recently. Im glad i now know what it is. But honestly the location is just so bad. It feels cramped in
This park should be surrounded by 20+ story buildings and lots of retail/food/galleries at ground level, instead we have a brand new car dealership, and probably a second one coming soon. Only in Los Angeles you can waste urban renewal opportunities like this. And MLK is horrible, they cannot even add a bike lane, it's a disgrace, they should just turn it into an extension of the freeway, which is pretty much the expected use by the City, apparently.
Why can't MLK add a bike lane?
Why do we need this? We already have enough of this crap at Disneyland what a total waste of space, time and money
