    Just came across this. Pens fan here who will bitterly miss hearing RJ. One of the legends who loved his team. What a personality. The game will be sadder for his loss, without a doubt.😢

    WE ARE NOT WORTHY of your announcing. No live broadcaster will EVER be that great and historic. We will remember your legacy forever! I wish was just one more OOOOOOvertime. My deepest condolences go to your family and the buffalo fans who lost some body that just can’t be replaced.

      Listened to Vin Scully of the Dodgers and Chic Hearn of the Lakers. They have already passed, but they had been a part of my sports identity as far back as i can remember.
      I feel your pain.

    Prayers from a Red Wings fan to Buffalo fans and his loved ones. I would listen to Buffalo games just to hear Mr. Jeanneret's classic heartfelt calls. RIP Mr. Jeanneret.

      Exactly. I dread the day we are in the same boat with Mickey Redmond. Listening to the same guy call games for decades they become like a friend you never actually get to talk to. But they make you feel happy, sad, excited, surprised etc.

    Always loved Rj glad we have these memories. Most who were there when we could t record or had to watch and set a tape up. This is his legacy. Tears shed for an announcer.... no its tears shed for a legacy and a great man fan and Sabre forever

    8:33 - Full disclosure, I am a Flyers fan.
    Still, I love this call of his.
    I also remember watching the May Day game, and even though it was a national broadcast, ESPN - or whatever sports highlight show I watched later that night - made sure to have the audio of Mr. Jeanneret's call for the rest of us.

    Growing up in Boston ur watching hockey 24/7, this was one of the guys that made watching the sport fun, as a wild fan, this shit still stings bc his calls and voice were so legendary. Hockey world lost a good one today, rest easy Rick thank you🫡😪

    A western New York legend! I have to admit, I didn't mind moving back in with my parents in my late 20s for grad school because I knew it meant I could watch Sabres games AND I could listen to Rick.
    Even when the team wasn't good, he was fun to listen to and made the losses easier.
